GTA San Andreas: Unique Vehicles Guide

Recommended Posts

Over the years there have been so many ways discovered to unlock rare vehicles in GTA: San Andreas. Those vehicles had unique traits such as colors, modifications, paintjobs, handlings, body parts or are simply unobtainable vehicles. In this post, I'm going to compile a list of vehicles you can steal & keep for their unique functions that you no collector would want to miss out on, so they don't get lost in time; like some of the vehicles on this list already were. There are a few vehicles I will exclude on this thread, and I will explain why later on.

I have been in the GTA Community for 10 years. I have seen many vehicles discovered in around the 2013-15 time period (which I consider to be the prime of GTA: SA's vehicle collection era) and many of those vehicles were lost now; like the mutant BF-400. If you think I missed out on any vehicles, please tell me and I will add them to this thread. I will also include a few tips on how to change any vehicle's build to AP, UC, or anything else.

If a vehicle is not on this list, then it can be obtained at any point in the game and I won't include it (if you want to collect license plated cars then you can see another thread). If you missed out on a vehicle or two and have no problem modding the game to get them back, you may want to get this mod. Make sure to NOT beat the missions you replay, because if you do your Missions Completed stat will be messed up and you might start seeing glitches in your game.

Here is a list of vehicles that I won't include in my thread:

Spoiler
  1. Reward vehicles. Vehicles you get from beating a mission, minigame, vehicle schools or earning 100% completion are not included here. So vehicles like Jetpack, Hydra, Bloodring, Monster, Harvester, Kart, Bandito are not included in this list.
  2. Rare vehicles. Vehicles you can get at any time outside of missions, but rarely spawn. This includes vehicles like Phoenix, Bandito, Raindance, Cropduster, etc. I will still include the Berkeley RC Van because that vehicle's spawn rate is very, very low.
  3. Unique license plates. This includes pink Club, SHERM picador (which will still spawn at Ryder's house after Pier 69, by the way).
  4. Non-unique vehicles. The first BMX & the ZR-350 pink slip are worth keeping, but they're not unique for anything beyond sentimental value.
  5. Vehicles that require cheats. There is no way to obtain an FBI Van or an RC Cam without cheats, so I will not include those vehicles.
  6. Trailer vehicles. They're unique, but they're not rare. If you really want to keep a trailer, just steal a tanker and tow the trailer to a garage. Tug stairs are interesting, but they're not that special so I don't see the need to include them here.
  7. Unique colors that can be obtained from car mod shops. I will make an exception for uniquely colored non-moddable vehicles, such as the News Van, Vortex or BF Injection. I will also include a link on how to change any car's color in the thread as well.

The videos I selected are the easiest way to unlock each vehicle, and while some of them are not recorded on the PC version of the game, they will definitely work on it as it has been tested before. Credits go to everyone who made the videos I linked & those who discovered the plays to steal the vehicles.

Color index:

  • Green- Easy/Relatively easy
  • Yellow- Difficult/requires luck or a few attempts
  • Red- Hard/Could take a few days work to get
  • Dark Red- Near-Impossible
  • Purple- Can be obtained at any time after beating a mission.

Format index:

  • Italic- Requires a phone call
  • Bold- Only unique for its color, cant be obtained otherwise

The list:

  1. Just Business: Big Smoke's Mutant BF400 w/ no exhaust (Link)
  2. Robbing Uncle Sam: Green Color Mesa (Link)
  3. Life's a Beach: Sounds Pony w/ Unique Handling (Link)
  4. Gray Imports: Conversion to EP/FP [Link]
  5. after The Green Sabre: FBI Rancher [Link]
  6. Wear Flowers On Your Hair: RC Raider (AP) [Link]
  7. New Model Army: RC Goblin (Link)
  8. New Model Army: RC Bandit (Link)
  9. New Model Army: RC Tiger (Link)
  10. Beefy Baron: Berkeley's RC Van (Link)
  11. Beefy Baron: RC Baron (Link)
  12. after Back to School: Hotrina (Link)
  13. after Back to School: Hotrinb (Link)

  25. End of the Line: SWAT (Link)
  26. End of the Line: Fire Truck w/ savable heavy handling (AP) [Link]

For a bonus, here's a list of videos that you can follow to add special values to your vehicle.

  1. How to mod any ground/sea vehicle; useful for modding bikes, firetrucks, boats, etc.
  2. How to mod any plane; note that this does not work on Dodo, Firetruck, Shamal, and some other planes because their colors are pre-loaded.
  3. How to store any vehicle
  4. How to store any boat
  5. How to transfer any colors
  6. How to make any vehicle AP (All-Proof)
  7. If you completed the storyline & answered Catalina's phone call after End of the Line, then you will have to break up with your girlfriend or get her desperate to get any more phone calls. The best way to do that is to get all oysters.

It's not a bad list but my list is much more up to date & has more rare vehicles. My list shows how to get the Andromada, Mutant BF-400, RC vehicles, UC2 Sentinel, etc. I did miss out on a few armor vehicles but I don't think AP vehicles are worth it since there's AP conversion now. I have all the unique color vehicles (including ones you cant mod), such as Stretch (which cant be obtained without cheats), Pizzaboy, all those.

Updated this thread. I removed all the -proof vehicles because they're not that special anymore. There are ways to convert vehicles to AP now, and even if they're hard, this list would be 10 times longer and would include many uninteresting vehicles with the -proof vehicles. I included a link to a tutorial on how to convert it. I hope this helps.

Anyways good work here bananaking13

Thanks!

I updated the thread more. Again, no new vehicles, but I indexed which vehicles need a phone call and made it much less wordy. I'm going to dig through the old posts on this forum and see which rare vehicles I missed out on, the 2013-15 era of GTAForums was a goldmine for vehicles.

Okay, a small update!

1. Added the Ice White Club from Customs Fast Track.

2. Added Hotrina & Hotrinb. I had no idea you can't get them outside of the Hotring races.

Also, I changed the Saint Mark's Bistro Sentinel from Red to Purple: meaning there is a very easy to way obtain it now. The vehicle is really worth nothing but this new play makes it very easy to obtain. Also I wanted to add that obtaining the Andromada from Stowaway is very easy (all you have to do is dupe the mission, blow up the bike, then steal it), but storing it in the Verdant Meadows garage is next to impossible, which is why I am linking the AP andromada video.

New update.

  1. Removed the UC2 Sentinel, you can get one just like it in many ways, and really it has no value whatsoever without cheats but if you're really desperate link 5 on the 2nd list
  2. I'm going to transfer this into a table soon. There's a way I discovered to unlock the un-recolorable elegant from Management Issues (you can only change it's color at Transfender). I can't record a video but I can explain how it can be obtained.

I'd rather use the 2015 or 2018 Special Vehicle Guide... I think removing all -proof vehicle just because there's an AP conversion is the biggest flaw of this guide...

converting vehicle over and over using AP conversion feels really brain dead and boring and sometimes took a lot longer to do.

For example, getting the AP pcj from og loc is really easy because you can just snipe it from afar instead of doing an AP conversion.

AP sanchez from wrong side of the tracks is also very easy to get since you just need to dip it into water.

Another AP vehicle like the admiral, sabre, buffalo, maverick can be towed out of mission without any effort.

Of course, there's still many easy -proof vehicle, the vehicle on the above is just for example. Why would you do an AP conversion over and over when you can just get them inside the mission? although I understand why people would want to just AP convert the AP boxville and AP infernus since they are notoriously hard to get.

I totally agree with this sentiment!  getting the AP cars without the conversion trick is most of the fun in GTA SA!  (for me)  using the GF AP conversion trick is cheap and unsatisfying!  please re-include the All proof cars!  many of the AP cars in the 2018 guide are now easier to obtain and someone should showcase these newer methods!

Please don't use this guide, it's really incomplete, instead use this one

It's the best one out there, or you can check out Lethal Vaccine on youtube for guides.

Getting AP vehicles out of  Hot Cofee and OM0 is next to impossible to me. and missions are easy.
