Doing as many daily challenges as you can to start out. If you keep up the daily streak you start to gain more gold per challenge and it begins to stack up.

R* wants you to buy gold so get out the credit card and spend, spend, spend.

The only 'Role' that actually gives gold as a reward is the 'Bounty Hunter' role so I would suggest going for that one first if its gold you are after. If you have Twitch Prime then you can link it to your Rockstar social club which will then give you the Bounty Hunting license for free so you don't have to spend any gold. After that, complete daily's for gold and keep doing bounties. To make money as a solo player you can do the collector role or instead you could join a discord group where you can join the trader role and help other people complete their deliveries for free $$$.

Right now though even if you do not like pvp I would join the featured pvp series as its triple gold and triple $$ before it finishes soon.

Pick the right dailies and ones you can do quickly. Missions are one of the better ways of making gold. Let the timer run down and you'll get more.

Also keep an eye on your awards for resettable achievements: look in the pause menu under progress - awards.

You get 0.4 gold per reset, a lot of these are easy to get while just playing normally.

Don't feel too bad, same here and I only figured that out a month or two ago  ;)

On the one hand, I thought "Oh I missed out on 10x of resetting those!"

But on the other hand, I can do them 10x now (for the .4 gold) when we've

had that 28 day dailies reset nerf; so really the .4 means more now.

I've already completed a couple 10x  ;)

Some go VERY fast, like selling/buying things and

picking/selling herbs/$$$ from trader sales.

Now's good a time as any to start, it's not like you're missing out, many of mine are maxed out at 10 already (you only get paid for 9 resets).

There are quite a lot of more casual players who don't know it.

I tried to help out a guy on youtube but he wasn't getting my meaning.

After repeating it he started to get cross and said "I don't want to do that".

OK, just trying to help.

You don't have to be a hardcore grinder to make use of this, it's all accumulated just by playing normally.

The things you like to do will lead to filling out those awards faster than you imagine.

It's hard to explain without showing someone visually, but greedstar is at fault for not being good at all about these things, they let the community figure it out on it's own.

There are a lot of really good guides out there, but not everyone goes looking for them.

I watched people streaming the game from launch in 2018 and watched numerous guides even before PC launch, so I had a really good idea about how most everything worked except for the PC control layout.

As far as I know there still isn't anything much available anywhere for that aspect.

There is also little things like when you're on a timed mission and you want to run down the timer a little and you need to do something like clean your guns, it's best to do mundane stuff like that while the timer runs.

Since it's going to take up your time anyway, you might as well get paid for it.

Picking up collectibles or herbs, skinning or sampling animals for other dailies, that sort of thing, as long as you have plenty of time you can get quite a bit done before turning in a bounty, returning a wagon, etc.

I will go into my rewards tonight and see what can be reset !!

Thanks heaps mate

I've found you're better off finishing missions ASAP and moving on to the next one. If you sit for 10 minutes to end a mission, you could have run another one in that time. You sit 5 or more minutes for each one, that dead time adds up fast. Same with bounties really.

I generally only run down a timer when I have other things to do in the area, and never more than 4-5 minutes, I'll usually just get it to below the next 30 second level.

Or if I have to AFK to make a cup of tea, use the washroom, etc.

Anything that I'd be doing anyway.

I tend to avoid timed missions as much as possible, but mostly the times I get are between 5-9 minutes.

On the Bonnie mission yesterday it gave me around 13 minutes, but I finished with just under 9 left, I stopped and looted all the enemies & cleaned all my guns that needed it again.

That's another thing: if you have enough time to finish a mission, make sure to loot all the enemies, they may provide collectibles and even possibly a treasure map.

Also looting enemies is one of the awards that you can reset after 1000.

Oh right. If I have other things to do while in the area, sure. I'll wait.

As far as looting enemies, they despawn almost immediately a lot of times. Horses will drag them off and when you go to loot one closer to you, the other one goes poof. If you snipe revenuers you best get down there before you take out the last one because if you don't most will be gone by the time you get there. It's BS really.

The bodies don't usually disappear in solo sessions, so another plus for those.

I usually see from 10-12 at a roadblock.

========================================================

Here's the wagon that appears at most shine roadblocks, both as part of a sale, stand alone mission from Mags, or as a random:

29FA570C8FF7AB89F50BFFFDD89DB4A0D6FF9C0C

It's always the faded white painted wagon.

I know a lot of players don't know about this, I'm aiming at a lockbox that contains a gold watch (sell for $7 at a fence), moonshine, cocaine gum, and some regular revolver cartridges.

During a normal 1 1/2 to 2 hour session I'll run into at least two of these random roadblocks (this one was at the crossroads just south of the oilfields), the $7 adds up with all the other jewellery loot you can pick up, and items sold to a fence is an award you can reset.

For instance: picking up a collectible at Larned Sod, not far from the picture location, there is also jewellery on top of the dresser, a snake oil tonic on the shelf to the left of the door, in addition to cheese, a bread roll and some bourbon to be looted.

Learning where easily picked up tonics and loot are located will help your game immensely.

You won't have to buy these things (I never have yet except for the top tier ones).

Picking herbs is handy for crafting tonics, some ammo, Cripps' special stews (another award for 100 of those), seasoned meats (dailies and an award).

The point is that there is in the game, lust lying around free to be picked up, much of what you need to enhance your experience if you're willing to explore and basically just enjoy what the game does have to offer.

To a lower level player there is actually quite a lot to do.

We all know there will still be quite a wait for any significant content like properties, etc.

There's plenty of time to progress at one's own pace and acquire the tools to succeed in the game.

There's no great rush to gather a fortune to be able to buy all the stuff, you can spend less and make it through using crafting pamphlets if that's your style of play.

And great for the combination of the "award" for picking herbs, which you can then sell for the award for selling to the doctor (both can be reset 10x, for the .4 gold each time.)

The only thing that holds me back, in selling to the doctor or butcher, is the stupid thing where when you sell a bunch of different ones

you hit that "processing" sale lag; at that point, I stop selling =/
