GTA SA (Android) Compatibility Issues and In Need of Advice.

So, I'm not sure if this is the proper place for this, but it does involve modifying GTA San Andreas on Android.

Apologies if this needs to be moved or deleted.

 

I'm needing some advice on how to edit GTA SA on Android, like with editing the config files for resolution/dpi.

I own the game, legally, from the Google Play Store and have found and extracted my apk, looked through all the folders but am not sure where to start.

 

The reason I want to learn how to do this, if possible, is because this game hasn't been updated on Android since some time in 2019, and with most devices nowadays running Android 11, the game isn't in a playable state. Upon launching the game it just crashes immediately with no error messages or anything.

 

I created a topic over on Reddit about this, and almost daily other users are reporting the same issues with the game on a range of different devices. Which again brings me here to GTAF. Is there some way possible to edit the version of the game, change dpi or resolution for most displays or somehow make this game playable again? I've modded all of the GTA games over the years, on PC and a little on OG Xbox, but don't know the first thing to do with mobile.

 

If this is a little out of context or confusing I'll try to clarify, but just need a good starting point if possible.

Use the FLA and get a crash log.

 

If you'll get a problem with installing the FLA, then you should read the documentation properly or hope someone would assist you with installation of it. 

Tell me the results.

I apologize if I misunderstood what the FLA is, but from what I was able to dig up, looks like it is basically a logcat.

Ran a logcat through adb on my PC with my phone plugged in only, and then ran a logcat on the phone itself. So I've got two files.

 

Not sure how much personal info is included if any, but here's the link to the one I did through Powershell on my PC: ybin - Pixel5 - GTASA - logcat 

 

I used ybin for the code, was going to upload my file to a cloud drive, but eh, same difference.

 

If this isn't what you were referring to I apologize, like I said, this is new to me, it's interesting and it would be nice to learn how to do it.

It's not needed anyway. 

 

I saw the logcat. Indeed there's a problem.

I could figure it out later possibly, but I need to get my computer fixed. It's not working at the moment. 

 

If so, we'll have to collaborate later.

Sounds great to me. I'm interested in tearing this game down and learning all I can about it. Been needing a project to get into in my spare time.
