To be fair, I think it was also Mach who said R* usually announces new things in March (which we dont really need him to tell us that if you do a little digging yourself) so, it is what it is. I think many of us would love a trilogy remaster/remake to hold us off until the next entry in this masterclass series.

I still don't get how all of this spun so out of control. Mach1 said something he's been wanting for years is happening and people just assumed it was the entire 3D era trilogy getting remade? To the point that a lot of people talk about it as if it's already confirmed?

 

Also, people keep saying that Ruffian games are known for remakes but what remakes are they known for? I just did a quick look into them and all I really saw was that they helped out with The Masterchief Collection and it sounds like when they help out other studios it's generally with multiplayer stuff. Why do people assume they'd be remaking the old 3D era games?

 

It seems more likely to me that they'd be helping out with the "Expanded" edition of GTA V or maybe taking over development on GTAO or RDO than it would be that they're remaking or remastering the 3D era. Am I missing something?

While in a way do agree that this could obviously end up meaningless and we are just rambling about nothing and so on..

 

On what other upcoming titles could a small team work on tho? Why would Rockstar, a big company, need them? Why would they go an extra mile to acquire such a small team when they could just kept them as some sort of outsourcing partners?

Interesting, haven't seen it before.

 

I wouldn't necessarily say it guarantees us a remaster of the old three GTAs. Maybe the OP was told to throw in some controversy, or maybe there will be some GTA 5 On-line up-date where you return to LC for a mission, but personally at the moment I'm open to any possibility.

I remember back in the 90-ies when people used to send letters to each other one guy pranked someone by leaving them a note in their mailbox reading "In 6 moths". The other person thought nothing of it, until 5 months later there was another note "In 1 month". The recipient was becoming more shaken and unnerved, awaiting the worst as more worrying notes followed, "In a week", "In X days", "To-day".

 

Then there was a note saying "Yesterday".

Remasters and remakes never capture the good feeling I get from the original versions. It's best we let pieces of art remain pieces of art as they are and start creating new ones instead of milking previous titles. I'm not interested and I personally don't think they'll do it. It's not the way R* do unless they really have changed. They better be working on VI.
