Best Guns in All of GTA 5?

Hi Everyone,

a.  Can we discuss the best guns in GTA 5?

b.  It would be even better if there could be a pros/con's sections that helps explain why.  For example:

1.  Minigun

Pro's:

- Can fire 3000 rounds a minute
- With HighEx cheat, can do so much damage in a short time

Con's:

- TOOLUP cheat does not recharge it
- It takes a few seconds to arm, which can mean the difference between life and death
- It is unwieldy, so it cannot be used while driving

I love it because of the simplicity and damage.

Try the minigun. I know its heavy and you can't run while your holding it but its the best weapon ever

To me it's a combination of the special carbine and the combat MG. Even better with their respective MKII variants.

 

Special Carbine:

Pros: Insanely accurate, able to carry 100 rounds per mag, looks badass, sounds even better, great damage and range. 

 

Cons: MKII variant cannot carry 100 rounds.

 

Combat MG MKII: 

 

Pros: Insane damage and range, 200 round mags, looks amazing.

 

Cons: unstable with continued fire.

It doesn't really matter because of the dumbed down one dimensional damage system. You can use a stock pistol to shoot enemy in their arm or leg and they will fall and eventually die

Any gun that is free to find in SP and can kill the enemy with one headshot, so there are many.

true, I literally played through The Union Depository heist loud aproach with default pistol, its even easier in console since all you have to do is press L2 and slightly push your joystick up and bam, Headshot.

I am guessing that this is a list for single player so I will no count things like the Alien boopy gun and mk 2 weapons.

But as for vanilla guns I put forward,

AP Pistol, great for shooting from a vehicle good short to med range on foot.

Combat MG, great in a med to long distance shoot out's.

Combat Shotgun, great when close up and confined.

yeah, these 3 guns are pretty much the only ones you'll need (plus an explosive weapon) for a good 5 star police massacre.

I like the assault shotgun. Nothing is more satisfying than blasting enemies with a fistful of buckshots...rapidly.

For each class :

 

Assault rifles :

 

Advanced Rifle has the best DPS, but Special carbine is more all-arounded.

 

Sub machine guns :

 

Combat MG is the overall meta.

 

Shotguns :

 

Assault shotgun has the fastest fire rate amongst all shot guns, which means nothing can defeat it in close range, but it lacks range and in this case heavy shotgun got a better range

 

Drive-by weapon :

 

AP pistol has both faster fire rate and bigger extended magazine than Micro SMG.

 

Snipers :

 

Heavy Sniper deals the most damage and Marksman rifle has the fastest fire rate in its class. The normal sniper isnt really that useful unless you want to perform stealth shots

 

Pistols : 

 

It depends but with Pistol.50 and the AP pistol you wont have that much of a problem 99% of the time

 

Melee weapons :

 

Knuckle Duster dosent reduce your fire rate

i like the Combat MG, its strong, has loads of ammo and is overall a great gun.

My favourite is special carbine...

For drive bys and spraying on foot Im using a lot AP pistol.

Well any gun feel really special, because I can shoot helicopter´s pilot down like fly even with basic pistol...

I like the sound of the regular machine gun and the carbine rifle the best, all of the guns sound a little underwhelming though. Love the look of the 50 cal pistol, but it goes PFFT PFFT when you shoot it rather than BLAM BLAM if you get my meaning

The Homing Launcher is one of the best explosives in the game. It locks your target and it's easier to use than the normal launcher
