Complete Map with All Discoverable Icons

Recommended Posts

RDR2-Map-Icons-2.png

I've been for some time now filling up the map with all the animal and plant icons and I'm finally done. Thankfully the RDO map
shows all the icons which speeded up the process a lot. When I was filling the map I noticed that there are a LOT of plant icons
that are impossible to get (120 in total) and even some animal icons in places where those animal do not appear. So I decided
to make this map with all the plants and animals and mark the unobtainable icons with red. This map also has all the Points of
Interest and all discoverable texts. Granger's Hoggery text is missing because of a bug.

Here are some interesting things I found out, when I was filling in the map.

- There are 6 unobtainable Blackcurrant icons in Roanoke Ridge, seems like they were replaced with Golden Currant and relocated to New Austin,
when R* decided to add New Austin to the game at a later stage. Blackcurrant icons aren't used in New Austin so they go completely unused.

- There are 3 Red Boa Icons in Rio Bravo, 1 Red Boa in Beecher's Hope and 1 Fer-de-lance snake north of Beecher's Hope, it's possible that the
Guarma snakes were meant to be found in the main map at one point, it's also possible that a developer just accidentally used the Red Boa
icon instead of the Black-Tailed Rattlesnake, there's also a Armadillo icon in Caliga Hall, probably a misused icon.

- There is an unused Legendary Northern Pike icon in O'Creagh's Run, you can get this icon by spawning the Legendary pike with a trainer.

- It isn't possible for some reason to get the horse icons in New Austin or the Band-Tailed Pigeon icon in Saint-Denis, these are the only
places in-game where these icons appear.

- Bluewater Marsh is the only region in the game where you can get every map icon.

Small list of only some icons in regions where that animal or plant doesn't exist
6 Whitetail Deer in New Austin
4 Desert Bighorn Sheep in northern West Elizabeth
1 Cougar in East Grizzlies
1 Armadillo in Caliga Hall
3 Red Boa in Rio Bravo and 1 in West Elizabeth
1 Fer-de-lance Snake in West Elizabeth

9 Violet Snowdrop in snowy parts of Grizzlies West

3 Chanterelles in Cumberland Forest and 4 in West Elizabeth

4 Evergreen Huckleberry in West Elizabeth

6 Common Bulrush in New Austin

6 Blackcurrant in Roanoke Ridge

Animal icons can be obtained by bringing the animal carcass from a different part of map to the location of the icon

and by skinning the animal or by just spawning the animal with trainer. The Red Boa can be a bit tricky without mods,

but can be done if you glitch to Guarma. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to get the plant icons, I've

tried spawning in the plants with a trainer and even teleporting while picking up a plant from different location, but

nothing has worked so far.

Nice.  This should make doing some Online dailies easier.

Many of the icons on the map can be quite misleading, the point of this map is to show the icon locations, not the actual animal or plant location. If you need the exact location of animals or plants I would recommend using the RDO map -> https://jeanropke.github.io/RDOMap/

I just can't find a grizzly bear near Cotorra Springs and near the "I" in West Elizabeth. Anyone got these?

Hi Alcomahol

I am about to create a video guide for a 100% completion of Red Dead Redemption 2, on my YouTube gaming channel, and would like to ask your permission to show your 100% completed map on my explanation video which will be presented at the very start of the series.

Needless to say, I'll credit you for the map, and would provide the link to this map.

I'd appreciate if you consider this request.

Many thanks in advance.

Apparently some people have gotten the cougar in East Grizzlies to spawn but it seems to be rarer than the Parakeets and Moose combined...

Yeah, been wondering why there's a cougar icon west of O'Creagh's for the longest time. Do you know about where it spawns up there? Never ran across one anywhere near there, myself.

Perhaps using the potent predator bait should help, the biggest mystery to me is a f*cking Armadillo in Caliga Hall, like whaaaat.

I mean, there's also a Desert Ram west of Hanging Dog and a Fer de Lance Snake northwest of Beecher's (as opposed to the spot down on the largest peninsula at Stillwater). Who knows...

Great map!

I have a question.
There is a moose icon next to Adler's ranch, but I have never seen any moose around that area.

I have searched everywhere, but there is no information about this moose at all.

Did you use a trainer to spawn the moose, or did you actually see it?
If you actually saw it, where about? What time of the day? which chapter?

I am currently in chapter 2, and trying to complete the map icons but don't want to use mod/trainer.
I have done all the other icons, and this is the missing one.

Would appreciate your reply.

Hey, I personally got it with a trainer, but i think you could also kill a Moose anywhere and then drag it with ur lasso on your horseback all the way to Adler Ranch, and then skin it.

Hope it helps!

Hey man, how did you get the red missing evergreen huckleberry, wild mint and english mace? I mean where have you picked them exactly?

Hey, so I think I got them when I used a trainer to go to varios out of bound places. I would spawn herbs and animals randomly and then pick/skin them within the out of bounds spots

That's really my only guess

Do you remember which trainer you used?

I've gotten almost all the map icons on console now, I'm only missing the 4 parakeets which I will do later. I'm having trouble with a few other icons though:

1 RASPBERRY between Rattlesnake Hollow and Pleasance House

2 WESTERN SONGBIRDS near Rio Del Lobo Rock and the one south of Pleasance House

1 ENGLISH MACE near Riggs Station

1 WILD MINT near Carmody Dell

If anyone could help with these I would really appreciate it

Have you used the RDO map? It will show you where are every plants on the map https://jeanropke.github.io/RDOMap/

For the songbirds honestly idk, I used a trainer. My guess is to make a save nearby and keep trying and reloading until you get them.

As for the parakeets watch out not to kill them before having all the drawings, or they might not respawn

Thanks, I'll try the map. The parakeets may respawn if you do the New Game+ glitch but I'm not sure. (It's technically a quest so it should reset)

Honestly I have encountered every small bird possible in New Austin except for Orioles, Sparrows and Western Songbirds. I've found like 30 groups on Scarlet Songbirds but not a single Western one. I've only found one rock in Hennigan's Stead where a Western Songbird can spawn so I might have to lead it down the desert (will be very hard, since the bird always changes direction, there is a cliff and it always groups up with other birds)

EDIT: I managed to get them all! Thanks for the map tip. Now I just need the Parakeets and it's complete
