I have really good internet, but my CPU is about 7 years old, and to upgrade I'd need a completely different motherboard, different RAM, so I'm putting that off as games work fine but the demands on youtube, etc. are getting out of hand. I'm not a fan of the pvp modes, I did enjoy them some of the time, but only did 'em for dailies, races I did like but I suspect there's some cheating going on there as well as everywhere else, having consistently been beaten by lower levels with a supposedly slower horse. The load in times are atrocious, though, so that really detracts from any fun from the actual activity, and mention being put into the game while it's already underway is a very poor mechanic that just wastes your time. There have been a couple of times in showdowns when my team lost because only two if us were actually playing, but more often it's because of a skill imbalance. While I'm not a competitive person by nature (meaning I don't NEED to win something to be able to enjoy it) I don't like being cheated, either by others or the game. If I lose because the others are better, so be it, good on them. If I lose and had fun, I'll do it again no problem. I'd much rather lose a fun match than win a boring one. I was just curious if there were any other reasons/benefits, as it's never really interested me to AFK any game so I haven't given the reasons and cost/benefit much thought, not judging or throwing any shade, it's just not my kind of thing. I know a LOT of people have made their fortunes on GTA by idling the bunker/MC businesses. It doesn't affect me either way. I have always hated cheating and have never cheated in my life. If I have to cheat to win, well, where's the fun in that. I didn't earn it. A lot of people today will cheat at everything and then act like they are great at whatever it is. I'm glad you mentioned games cheating too. It doesn't matter to me if it's a human or program cheating, I hate it with a passion. RDO does have some aspects of cheating in it. I have AFK sometimes but only if I'm going to be gone for less than an hour, but I park the horse in a stable when I do it. I don't need money, gold or XP but even when I did I preferred to earn it so I felt like I accomplished something. Since I do have CTS, PvP is pretty well out of the question for me. AFK would have been a good way for me to earn whatever though if I felt the need to earn it in some PvP thing. Any other time, like you, I'm off playing another game or doing something that requires use of the PC. Is it a thing then that people don't just stick to a single account but might have one account per game so they can sell them on? Not sure how it's done but I went to the community and found the person's name. The name is forsalereaddead1. The way PSN works, you can click someone's name and their profile comes up (I click profiles before I invite to my lobbies). Previously, his profile stated that he/she was going to sell the account once it reached XX amount of gold. That statement is no longer there. I'm not sure whether they now like the game and want to continue playing it or what. Off topic--interesting to see the "This message has been deleted by Playstation Safety" entries (which is a joke considering some of the user names that are allowed) and the name PullOutLanCable (used by some to dup items in RDO). If someone else's intent is to sell the account or to play the game for a bit and then sell the account (consider someone who purchased the game and now thinks it's trash--there are those players out there), it makes perfect sense to me. This begins to make more sense: they don't really want to play the game anyway and are basically scalping a boosted account. I get that players will AFK while they're otherwise occupied to accelerate their advancement to better enjoy the game later, just like idling GTA production. doesn't affect me, so whatever. Selling accounts is directly affecting potential gold bar sales and also against the TOS, so it's surprising that greedstar doesn't take action against it. Again, it doesn't affect me, and I don't have a dog in this hunt, I find it hard to take that they strike a blow against those actively playing (the daily nerf) and who aren't buying gold anyway, yet let others get away with something that is quite possibly directly cutting into their gold sales, at least in their view. I wouldn't really expect that someone who would buy a boosted or modded account would ever buy gold, but I'm sure they greedstar and especially T2 would see them as potential mtx sales. 1 hour ago, netnow66 said: Not sure how it's done but I went to the community and found the person's name. I have gotten mod menu sales offers via social club message from people I can't recall ever encountering in game. They have been reported, and the accounts have disappeared so I assume they've been deleted.
