So my buddy just got banned and I have some serious issues with it.

I have at this point put probably 200$ into this game, just because I enjoyed it, but I'm now worried that my investment will be taken from me with no reason and with no recourse. My friend; Terrorize30720, just got banned for a month, with no reason given, and no opportunity to appeal. He's not used a mod menu or anything of the such, and in fact has made a habit of going after bullies and greifers. "Giving them the fight they want, so they'll leave other people alone." Now, I'm afraid it's because he reported a modder who had started using my name to say an unrepeatable and unacceptable message in chat. But if that's the case then why would HE be banned, and not the modder? 

Either way at this point it seems that R* reserves the right to ban anyone, for any reason, with no recourse. Which would be fine, if not for the implications for the money involved.

I would love to hear back from R* on this, maybe get an explanation for his ban, or more preferably a line of communication. Because if this matter isn't handled I am going to be more than a little reluctant to suggest GTA 5 to anyone, let alone to put money into it.

Yes, that is exactly what is going to happen. Stop recommending GTA 5 and stop putting your money into it, now.

Rockstar never unbans people, you are not even guilty until proven innocent, you get a random death sentence without a fair trial.

 

For banned players, I can recommend FiveM. It is better than GTA Online in many ways.

No grinding, no tryhards, no griefing, no cheating, the lobbies run on actual servers instead of peer-to-peer connections.

As for modders on PC, it is totally messed up. Why does Rockstar sell the least shark cards on PC? not because most kids with their parents' credit cards are on console, but because of the modding.

I think your friend went after a griefer who had a mod menu, and that griefer made it look like your friend was cheating to get him reported and banned. Sadly, that's how bad modding has become on PC.
