Major frame drops while driving.

Im having major issues with frame drops while driving in the city.

 

PC specs:

2080 Super

AMD 3900x

16GB 3600Mhz DDR4 ram

Game is installed on a SSD

 

Tried everything including messing around in the Nvidia control panel and lowering all my graphical settings to minimum and still no fix.

 

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

This is an issue with the game's engine. Especially in Online mode with other players present.

Try setting Extended Distance Scaling off in Advanced Graphics, that's the only thing you can do about it, apart from having less players in your session.

GTA V's engine is antique by today's standards. It is really the same engine from GTA IV, from 2008, just with better graphics.

It can use multiple CPU cores, but it quickly becomes CPU limited on the main thread. No proper multithreading by today's standards.
