zPhoenix
During the final mission of chapter 2 I noticed that one of the kidnappers horses stayed around and was very docile. So I plundered its saddlebags, mounted it, finished the mission with it, bonding as I went along and took it to camp. It is just a Morgan so I don't want to make it a permanent horse, but I remember reading about taking extra horses on hunting trips to carry carcasses so I'd like to keep it at camp. But... it still has its original (not mine) saddle and I can't seem able to take it off. Questions: 1) EDIT: Nope, it gets auto-replaced when I put a saddle on it. Do I even need to take the original kidnapper's saddle off? I am worried that the saddle might make the horse recognizable as stolen. 2) EDIT: Irrelevant. Is it better to leave that saddle on or remove it? (Keep in mind that I don't plan on riding it, except to increase the bonding and thus the range of whistling calls. 3) EDIT: It is a bad idea to have horses following you, so either sell the horses in the stable or leave them there... the game is too buggy for following horses and you can lose them. As a matter of fact, I have 2 earlier horses in the stable that are not very good. Can I get them all out of the stable and to the camp, so that I can take all 4 of my horses (my main - a Mustang, and the 3 cheesy horses) with me when hunting? If yes, how do I do that? 4) EDIT: I was able to get a 5th horse following me, but things got very buggy. Following horses randomly stopped following me in town until I saddled them again (almost lost my Mustang that way during switches of saddle) and one of the following Morgan's disappeared when I went to sell one of them, besides I only got $5 so it is not worth it to grab horses you don't plan to keep. Now that I have 4 horses (my main, 2 stabled and 1 at camp), if I find a good horse... will I still be able to stable it or do I have to get rid of one even though only 3 of them have ever been stabled? Needless to say, uncle Google was helpful about mechanics about how to stable a horse or make one of the horses my main... but useless about the questions above.
