I remember people (including me) thought he'd be one of the protagonists when the first Trailer came out. If my memory serves me correctly, the actor made a tweet back in 2011 saying that he got his body scanned for a Rockstar Games project named "Rush," which turned out to be GTA V's codename. If you look at his pictures on his social media, there's a slight resemblance to the running man, especially the tattoos (maybe the resemblance was even closer a decade ago). Either his role turned out to be for the first trailer only, or he parted ways with R* and was dropped from the game as a whole. Rockstar probably used a CJ like figure in the trailer to get fans talking.. and it sure as hell worked. I remember seeing threads everywhere once the trailer dropped.. But if I remember correctly, Lamar/Slink was intended for the role filled by Franklin/Shaw Fonteno, but when Slink was sentenced to jail, R* had to wing it from there. Or something like that. I thought this Los Santos is going to be huge, and that there will be a good crime story surrounding gangsters, etc. Ah, I remember I was so hyped when I saw these cops in the alley...
