It has one of the best single player stories ever and the game is more addicting than any other game you can think of. Gta online is the greatest online mode of all time. Gta online is also addicting and better than any online mode you can think of. However, in no way does that mean it is a good game. Please look past the sales numbers and the graphics. (I have to admit, GTA V has the best graphics of any GTA) Gameplay matters too. In my opinion, the best GTA is San Andreas, GTA V was only a mediocre game, and GTA Online outright sucks at times. Its success comes mainly from lack of competition. They use specific techniques to make games like GTA O addictive in order to hook players in a way that makes them the most money from microtransactions, NOT in order to provide the most enjoyable or high quality gaming experience. An "addiction" that just consists of enjoying the game is one thing but an addiction where you grind/spend many hours playing in ways that aren't fun or stimulating just to keep levelling up, get the latest new stuff or get more money can be a depressing and empty experience. Some of the lowest quality games out there are addictive, it isn't an impressive thing.
