Why are crew colors different, even though the hex value is the same?

This is the Grotti Visione I'm using as a comparison. Both of them have the hex value #15000faa

Not sure if this is important, but they are different crews that I created using different social club accounts

Did you use O instead of 0?

You probably made a typo entering the color for the first one, or someone in the crew changed it.

I copy pasted it so I'm certain I did not.

I didn't make a typo, because I copied one and pasted it to the other. It is impossible for someone else to change it, seeing as I'm the only one in the crew.

Well, the second color is #15000f, the first one is not. The first one is a blue color and looks more like #2020a0.

So something must have gone wrong when you entered the first color. It's really the only possibility. Have you tried setting the color again?

The second color is what I was going for. For some reason for that crew, the color of #15000f is always that. I don't even know what went wrong. If I apply the #15000f color on another crew, it shows a color different to the one in both pictures. I'm pretty sure it's a bug, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

Do you use the Inspect Element method to enter the hex code like this: https://gtaforums.com/topic/782581-kustom-crew-color-requests/?do=findComment&comment=1067257425 ? Explanation is in the second spoiler.

I just tried it myself and got the right color with #15000faa .

I only changed one of the hex(the bottom one), because on the tutorial video that I watched, he only did that. Perhaps that is why the colors are different. Thing is, I did the same thing to both crews so it's a little weird how they turned out to be different. Thanks though. I'll be changing both the hex from now on and hope I'll get the correct color.

It is correct that you only need to edit the bottom one, the line with <input id="crewColor" ...

I would suggest you simply try entering the code again for the first crew that had the bluish color; it will most likely work.

I just tried using a different color (cyan #00CAB000) in the crew that displayed the "correct" color, and this is the result https://imgur.com/a/LnEgWT0

That looks like you somehow ended up with #CA00B0 instead of #00CAB0.

I really don't know what's going wrong there. I've entered more than a hundred color codes and never had such a problem.

Could you maybe take a screencap video of how you enter the code? If not, then I can't really help you.

I used xbox game bar to record, so that's why when I right-clicked on the color box, nothing showed up in the recording. I basically only right-clicked to inspect it.

It's the same color even if I remove the 00 at the back.

OK, two things that might cause it to go wrong:

  • Once you entered the color code, click anywhere else in the window with the html code, or press Enter, so that the change registers, and then click save.
  • Maybe you have to actually click into the color selector. I right-click into the color selector, then open "Inspect Element" from there.

Also you know you have to restart the game after changing the crew color, right?

Yes, I'm aware of this.

Once you entered the color code, click anywhere else in the window with the html code, so that the change registers, and then click on the X to close. After that press save.

Or don't close the Inspect Element windows at all and click save with them still open.

So the change doesn't register when we press enter or just leave it?

I edited my post...

Pressing enter should work as well.

Actually it seems like you're doing everything right, because the top line of code already had the right color. Weird.

EDIT: I just tried entering the code in my crew and it shows the right color in the game. Like I said, very weird that it doesn't work for you.

Could it be related to the fact that my crew level is stuck at 1?

Possibly... are those preview photos you posted with the price locked? I think it should still show the right color though.

If you want you could invite me to your crew, and I could see how the color looks like on my end, or change the color.

But I don't think that would fix whatever is going wrong on your end.

Thanks for the offer, but nah it's cool. I just restarted again and it worked. I think I just have to keep on restarting until it works.
