Sudden bad performance - Even after factory reset

I played gta 5 at 100 fps, but when i installed some game booster and after it did some stuff in my computer (update drivers ig), the game ran horrible. Even after i turned graphics down and even resolution scaling it to half, the game ran the same way!? after searching for help i decided just to factory reset my laptop, since it was slow anyway. Today, i launched the game again and it was exactly the same, no difference at all. Does anyone know what should i do?

Sounds like it is this game booster thing you installed tbh.

Uninstall that and check everything is using the latest drivers manually especially the GPU.

Check your Advanced Graphics settings in game. Make sure they are all off. Then set your normal Graphics back the way they were before you installed that game booster.

Next, delete any programs on your computer that mess with your game settings, like game booster, nvidia gforce experience, you don't need any of that.

I tried Geforce experience once, and it made my game run at 30fps. (Ryzen 2700x, GTX980TI, 16GB Ram) Not suspicious at all /s

After that, run a complete virus scan, just to be sure that game booster wasn't a virus.

If Factory reset didn't work, and if you weren't keeping anything important on that laptop, you may want to consider wiping it completely and doing a clean install (nuke it from orbit)
