Overview

This mod restores several unused cosmetic features for pedestrians such as glasses, watches & wristbands, hats for some pedestrians, leather jackets for Alderney police officers and also adding additional fixes.

For additional changes, please click below.

Spoiler
  • Uptown Riders in TLAD now use their own voicelines for arm wrestling instead of reusing AOD lines.
  • Fixed FIB agents not talking due to a typo in peds.ide. (M_Y_FBI instead of M_Y_FIB)
  • Fixed the LCPD officer missing the white skin variant from the console version.
  • Fixed N.O.O.S.E. gas masks using the incorrect texture (Specular instead of diffuse).
  • Cops in TLAD now correctly use their own voices instead of reusing ones from the base game. In addition, TBOGT cops now use the original model from GTA IV due to them having no unique voices.
  • The arms dealer in Broker and Alderney gun shops now use the proper model (m_m_gunnut) instead of reusing the bouncer at Honkers.

Download here!

To install, drag the folders to your GTA 4 and EFLC directory. For .img folders, use OpenIV to replace the contents in the corresponding .img files.

Niiice, do the FIB now use all of their face texture variants, not just one? If yes, how did you manage to fix that?

Nope, they still remain the same. Haven't found a way to fix it yet.

Turns out I never posted on how to do this properly despite knowing how to, so here we go:

You can't override peds.ide entries that already exist, so you have to disable IV's peds.ide in the episodes content.dat, I do it like this:

DISABLE_FILE common:/DATA/peds.ide
IDE common/data/pedsiv.ide
IDE common/data/peds.ide

pedsiv.ide is a copy of IV's peds.ide that I put in TLAD's common > data folder, but with the entries modified.

Ultimately, the bottom of the file should look like this (you also had the wrong voicepack names included):

Spoiler

# Ped model, audio group, head index
agrps

M_Y_Cop,            E1_M_Y_COP_CHINESE,                0

Disabling of the original peds.ide doesn't seem to work with TBOGT for unknown reasons (unless there was something wrong with my game), only TLAD, so maybe just use IV's cop model there instead.

Thanks, @B Dawg. Now the EFLC cop voices are now working properly as intended for TLAD. I guess the reason why TBOGT isn't working is the voice files aren't included and their voices aren't defined in "EP2_GAME.DAT16". I used the .rpf audio files for setting the EFLC cop voices, so how did you know the correct names?

The entries aren't based on audio bank names in the .rpfs but rather what's set in game.dat16 (audio > config folder). They're viewable via RAGE Audio Toolkit.

Could be a bit of a tall order but is there a way to make this work with Byeah's FIB fix? That mod and this one replace the same files.

This one. Sorry, I said "Byeah" instead of "Bdawg" because of Jerma. My bad, but yeah is there a way to make this compatible with this mod?

Should be fine as long as you don't replace "peds.ide" and "pedvariations.dat". My mod already has the fixed voices and unused hat and glasses.

Would be really cool if you could make an optional compatibility for The Hardcore Lost MC as well.

https://gtaforums.com/topic/908470-iveflc-the-hardcore-lost-mc/

I might be able to do that, but right now I haven't got back to GTA 4 and I'm currently focused on other games, like Doom. Plus, it took me about a hour to modify the pedvariations.dat file to add every single eyeglasses to every single pedestrian.
