TimMiller Posted January 18, 2021 Share Posted January 18, 2021 Is there any official reason why the weapon sounds and muzzle flash animations are so low quality in GTA SanAndreas? Even GTA 3 and Vicecity had far superior and realistic weapon sounds and better looking muzzle flash. In SanAndreas gun shots sound like firecrackers and the muzzle flash looks really cartoony. I believe it had something to do with the limitations of the disk space and that they had to cut corners somewhere to make the whole game fit. I agree though it's a huge downgrade considering 3 and VC. Fun fact, supposedly SA's shotgun sound is straight from Manhunt. Maybe R* didn't want that sound to go to waste. Same, guns like the Tec-9 or SMGs sound like somebody throwing pencils,the Assault Rifles sound horrible and so do the rest. Vice City and Liberty City Stories in my opinion had the best gun sounds.
