Does anyone else find it weird how protagonists, with the exception of the GTA V protagonists, don't own vehicles canonically? You would except them to buy something with their newfound wealth but nope.

I remember Luis arguing with Armando in the first mission in TBOGT that his job is only ten minutes away on the train so he probably uses public transport/walks everywhere at the least. Same with Niko, at least canonically

Whoever was this guy supposed to be? Just a random guy for the icon?

I thought he was the lowrider mechanic for a while.

I was always under the impression he was CJ dressed all fancy but apparently it’s supposed to be OG Loc?????

The pacing of End of the Line makes zero sense.

Tenpenny goes from nearly shooting CJ to spontaneously appearing way down on the 2nd floor to shoot the generator, CJ only then starts to move when everything in the bottom 2 floors is up in flames, and a whole new batch of enemies has spawned throughout the building for him to deal with (did they just let Tenpenny walk right past them?). Somehow despite all the delays, CJ catches up close enough to Tenpenny that he witnesses him stealing the fire truck right on time.

Some other characters on the artwork don't really look like the characters in-game, like the one with Catalina.

That's for GTA San Andreas. GTA III artwork style is the one the characters don't match at all with the ones in-game.

You mean the Latina chick? I always assumed that it's just a random artwork that's not supposed to depict a specific character. Like the Lollipop Girl from IV's artwork or the one with the starlet from V's artwork.

For what I've heard, the official artworks of the characters are actually concept artworks of how the artists portrayed the characters' appearances. That's why their artwork appearances/clothes are almost always inconsistent with their in-game counterparts.

I dunno why but I always felt that GTA V is the hardest GTA game to mod. With the frequent mod-breaking updates that always force the authors to workaround them everytime to make them compatible with the latest version, it feels like a huge pain in the ass to even install a simple reskin mod.

Also, isn't that ironic that the most frustrating GTA game to mod is also the most popular one for the gaming modding scene?

I'm today years old realising that the eating function is present in Vice City, but rather in a different way from San Andreas. Welp.

I remember being a kid it would piss me off that I can't just eat whenever in Vice City, my health has to be like ten points away from full to even order f*ckin food

IMO Packie and Gus Mota's pay should have been switched regarding the GTA V heist crew recruits. Packie should have been the costlier one and Gus Mota the cheaper one. You wanna recruit good old Packie you better fork extra cash or else you gotta settle for Gus.

Though maybe in game wise Gus is more reputed in Los Santos so his paycut is more whereas Mcreary is a relative unknown.

Never realized until yesterday how overpowered molotovs are in San Andreas if the player completes the fire truck mission. Dropping one right in front of the player when 5 stars FBI agents leave their car is very effective.

Am I just alone, or do I really like the European boxart for GTA III? It looks way cooler and stylish and if I being truthful - it fits the Grand Theft Auto branding much more.

Sure, the spliced artworks with the black bars are more ironic to the series overall, but I personally think that the EU boxart looks much better. Honestly, Rockstar should've gone with this style instead.

I'm not a fan of it tbh. It reminds me too much of some cliche action movie poster while the black bars etc style is def very iconic as well as unique and gets the point of the game across without resorting to movie poster cliches nawhimean

There’s probably a good reason for that.

I’m pretty sure it’s stylised after the 1977 Grand Theft Auto movie poster with Ron Howard.

Speaking of which man I miss region specific covers. The Australian GTA III cover is completely different to this one, but I have both.

I wonder if during the testing of GTA III, anyone ever said “Wait, we just made it impossible to drive around Saint Mark’s after killing Salvatore, without a bulletproof vehicle that is.”

Not going into the realism aspect as GTA was never realistic but going into the ridiculousness aspect. Not only Mafia’s shotguns are extremely deadly, they also have aim bot with %100 accuracy. Also it seems the Mafia has super perception speed(not sure if that’s the right way to put it), being able to spot Claude while he’s driving at 200+ km/h. They say GTA V has aim bot AI but they got nothing on GTA III’s Mafia.

I know this is really an old topic and no, not my first time playing GTA III but all these years of playing, I didn’t consider the ridiculousness of the Mafia and their shooting “skills”.

On an unrelated topic, does anyone feel like cars in Vice City are really slow? I don’t think it’s my fps because I play with frame limiter on. People often mention the cars in GTA IV and V being slow but compared to Vice City’s, IV and V’s cars feel like planes to me.

On an another unrelated topic. Does anyone have a guess on how many people Toni and Donald killed when they blew up Fort Staunton? I’m not sure where it’s based in new york and what the population rate would be during 1998.

I feel like cars felt faster in SA than VC. Tangential but it was funny how Tommy could catch up to NPC drivers just by sprinting a lot of the time.

I don't think VC cars are slower than IVs but idk for sure

I remember back in my casual days of being a GTA fan I thought that the stories in each entry was a well-written well-crafted masterclass masterpiece.

As I grew older I realized that almost all of the stories in the series are absolute garbage and only like, three GTA games had actual good stories. (San Andreas, Vice City Stories & IV)

Yeah... :prismkek:

Honestly, in my opinion, every GTA has a sh*tty story, and Dan Houser is not a good writer by any means. It's the gameplay that keeps us captivated.

Speaking of hostile gangs, I still hate the fact we help the Yardies get new territory in LCS and then suddenly, they hate Toni after the mission.

Generally speaking the games before San Andreas should've given us extra bonus content where we can wipe out certain gangs; the Haitians in Vice City for starters. They had no problem making the Purple Nines just vanish and they're one of few gangs we don't incur the wrath of

Which car in SA has the highest acceleration? Also is there place to get this type of info from rather than asking on forums?

From searching online and on multiple topics on forums, seems it is the Infernus

There are various guides on San Andreas on Gamefaqs

I literally only just found out the Ammunation clerk in San Andreas is Danny Mastrogiorgio who voiced Toni in LCS!

Mind. Blown! How the f*ck did I never put these two together?

I liked that Ammunation clerk in SA. The revolution is coming, you hear!
