Irritatingly fast afk-kick when alt-tabbing out of the game!

Very irritating in a game that takes up to 20 minutes to load that you can't alt-tab out of the game to send someone a message on discord or google something without getting kicked for afk. 🤬

Use "Windowed" or "Windowed Borderless" modes. Either of these will extend your idle AFK timer to 15 minutes before you get kicked. The fullscreen timer is like 2 minutes 10s or something.

It does it on consoles as well. If you open up the "Guide" sidebar it says you have three minutes instead of the usual fifteen but it's not, it's much less. If you want to answer a message or start a Party for example you are likely to get kicked before you are done.

Yeah, I hate that. I'm sure there has been many complaints to them about that, why hasn't it been fixed?

It's hard to type a message to someone without getting kicked if the sentence has too many words (which is not too many).

It always feels like you have about thirty seconds before you are kicked and not three minutes. It's annoying if you don't have a chat pad connected and need to type out a message using the controller.

Windowed mode is more stable, but annoying when you have two desktops - in most crucial moment, you made a fast turn with the mouse, your cursor slips out of window, game alttabs to desktop, you get shot, then the paperclip guy appears: "It seems you have died. Do you want to ragequit?"

Yeah Xbox here, and this is infuriating. Can't even send someone a chat message without this timer kicking in. Stupid feature.

Set it to 'Windowed Borderless' and turn off 'pause at focus loss' and the timeout should be 15min at all times.

They're PC settings, probably intended as a reply to the original poster.

Xbox is 90s as soon as you open the visor or minimise the game. Probably because the game has no way of knowing if you've soft-offed the console so wouldn't want to keep everyone around for 15m.

When you tab out you got a minute and a half to return before it boots you. I don't know why they give you so little time.

The game lets you AFK for like thirteen minutes before it boots you.
