How do people get themselves to roleplay high honour?

Playing low honor is a pain in the ass when you just wanna enjoy the scenery and do some nice casual hunting considering Rockstar thought it would be a good (and realistic) idea to have swarms of armed men hunting you down every 5-10 minutes when you've got a bounty.

Also the fact that everybody who sees you commiting a crime, whatever the nature of it, will become a witness and try to rat you out. Makes a lot of sense and is totally not annoying at all.

Let's not forget that engaging the authorities leaves you with only two options: Escaping or dying. Long gone are the days when you can hold fort in a bank and take out a town's entire police force like a true badass. Now the game will just spam spawn officers until there's so many bodies lying around that the floor's collision gives way and you fall through the map.

High honor all the way.

You can play Low Honor without getting bounties, and also, lawmen stop spawning when you fight them in the wilderness.

So what's the fastest way to get honor before chapter 6? Is it throwing fish back in Annesburg or saying hi to people in Saint Denis? Something I didn't think of yet? Neither are really making it go up fast, said hi to folks for like 45 minutes and the bar only moved like once or twice.

I just want high honor for the outfits

I always felt like you were supposed to start the game as a ruthless killer and slowly see the errors of your ways and then redeem yourself at the end.

So in chapter 1 i'm ruthless and then I start to become more honorable as the chapters go by. By time I get to chapter 6 I'm a 100% a "good guy".

They sort of railroad you into playing high honour, even in the early chapters. Positive honour gets handed to you for every single thing you do, and both Arthur’s personality and the plot itself not-so-subtly hint that it’s extremely ooc for Arthur to just go around killing people for no reason. Before Dutch goes off the rails, the game specifically states the gang tries to live by the “help people who need helping, feed people who need feeding, kill people who need killing” motto. Arthur, having been in the gang longer than anyone bar Hosea and Dutch, is strongly implied to believe this motto stronger than basically everyone. It’s why even as early as chapter 2, he’s shown to have a closer bond with Hosea than Dutch. Because Hosea is the lightest shade of grey of all the gunmen in the gang.
Evil immoral Arthur just doesn’t make sense. At most he seems like the kind of guy who gets in saloon brawls and non-lethally robs stagecoaches. Even sh*ttalking the gang members that aren’t Micah and Bill and Uncle seems ooc for him.
