Indiana Jones Video Game by MachineGames/Bethesda (Executive Producer - Todd Howard)

This is really fascinating for me. I'm big fan of Indiana Jones and I also greatly enjoyed Wolfenstein reboot franchise by MachineGames especially The New Order.

If they can pull this off properly it's gonna be Microsoft's Uncharted.

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine is one of my favorite video games ever! i hope they dont f*ck this up and release a decent new indiana jones game! cant wait for more information

I hate these types of announcements.  What?  Are they shooting for a release year of 2028?  

 

Don't get me wrong - this is exciting news.  Just wake me when it gets closer... ya know.

Yea I aint a fan of really early announcements either. Maybe announce the game when it's out of pre-production pls and thanks?

 

But anyway, MachineGames are a very decent studio, not flawless, but definitely capable of putting out something good here. I'll be curious to see how it's structured tbh, the more classic linear style or the modern Tomb Raider style hub based worlds with tombs and stuff to find through exploration.

Looking forward to this. To echo what others have said, it's a pain that it's so far out. This ZeniMax deal with Microsoft is expected to be finalised by the end of February. Hopefully, we'll have a clearer roadmap of what Phil Spender decides to do with these games. We don't know when or what sort of deal they have with Lucasfilm/Disney. There could be a clause in the that makes the game multiplatform. We don't know. 

 

I'm really looking forward to this ZeniMax deal been done so we know what's going on. The fact that Todd Howard is the exec producer and that this game is in pre-production might indicate that this is all new and that Howard sat down with Phil Spencer and they looked what was missing in the Microsoft first party portfolio and agreed an action/adventure game much like Unchartered/Tomb Raider is missing and they're great types of games. 

 

Looking forward to it. Not going to get too excited, as it's way off. It's a Machine Games so, it's under Microsoft so at the very least, it will be a day-one release on Game Pass. Pretty decent.

 

 

 

Also, like Phil Spencer did with the Series S hidden in plain sight in the background.. Howard did it too!

I mean, look at the games he's worked on... what the hell is he gonna help with on an Uncharted style game? He lives and breathes open world RPG's.

MachineGames is staffed by some of the same people that did the Riddick games, plus The Darkness, for Starbreeze Studios. Considering how well those games were made Indiana Jones is in good hands. And, for those who don't already know, IOI, the Hitman devs, are doing a James Bond game. Can't wait to see how that turns out.

I don't know if you're right, but I hope you are. Before I got to your post, I had entered this thread just to post that Howard doesn't belong anywhere near this game as far as I'm concerned.

And what's more he is now busy with Starfield and TES VI, both of which are almost guaranteed to be larger and more complex games than this Indiana Jones game. So I don't expect him to be heavily involved in this either.

I love Indiana Jones, but I have my doubts as to whether Bethesda can come close to what, for example, Sony did with Uncharted.

I'm not sure how I feel about this game. I think both excited and doubtful at the same time. But if it's really going to be an XBox exclusive than I don't have to worry about it, unfortunately.
