Heist Scenario Help Thread

I originally started this thread as my usual run had a lot of empty spots and needed scenario help as I was forced to take a different route. I noticed this has been happening quite a bit recently as guard routes are changing for me, you all have improved methods, and a lot of areas or ideas we normally would use are coming up empty when scouting or on the heist run itself. I'd like to create a scenario help thread where we can all ask our unique situations or scenarios and all chip in and help figure out an ideal route based on the situation presented.

This was my original post before this spawned:

So conventional wisdom would say to just take the easy money and move on to the next one....especially since it's just the ruby necklace as the primary, but after failing this a couple times I am up for the challenge.

I elite solo this in about ~10:30, which gives me some wiggle room with time. I do the standard method through the drainage tunnel and exit at the main dock like most. However, I got a rough hand dealt to me. There are no paintings in the office to take and the two solo storages yield just one stack of cash. So I need an alternate route.

What I have been trying to do is on the bike heading to that little corner house close to the main dock (a little east and close to the middle of the map) as it has a weed and coke stack, plus the one cash stack at the dock....I think that may work to fill the bag. But I have never done this way before and am getting spotted while trying to avoid the helicopter.

Is this doable or is another route a better option? Or should I just scrap it altogether and ditch elite on this one.

Is jumping off a cliff and swimming for deep water slower than riding to the main dock?

With bags empty and no elite challenge completed?

Well if you grab Secondary Loot before going into the Compound then "Escape Cayo Perico" only takes a minute - obviously you'll need to use something other than the Kosatka entrance or swim and find a boat instead of going for the underwater entrance.

Check the the airfield and North dock for loot, guard uniforms, either a grappling hook or the supply truck, and you're good to go.

This actually makes a lot of sense and I'm not sure why I didn't think of this one and getting the secondary first.

I've never beat this any other way than starting through the drainage tunnel, so getting from the airstrip or north docks will be new.

Couple ways to do it from the airport. The popular option would be to use the Longfin entry, boat up to the airport, loot, then boat down to the tunnel and swim in. Rebreathers help with this. I've heard it takes maybe 12 minutes this way. On my one attempt I had guard clothes and grappling hook at the airport, so after arriving by Velum and looting I just took a motorcycle to the compound and climbed over the wall. Took me just over 12 minutes to complete.

Nice. This was going to be my initial plan. I guess since it's not much work, I can even intel back at the airstrip to see if I get either clothes or a grappling hook by looking around and developing a plan.

Are you leaving the compound and just jumping in the water and swimming away to end it?

Scoping out the airport to make sure you can get elite from there is a good idea. There's 6 tables that could have stuff, which should be more than enough to fill your bag. I'd recommend looking up a map so you can see where to find the clothes and grappling hook quickly.

On mine, after using the grappling hook to leave the compound from the left side, I ran directly left, shot a boat driver, and boated away. If you're in stealth the boat drivers don't get upset if you shoot at them. The pros get a motorcycle and there is a location you can jump the bike off from and have a very short swim. People have posted videos on here on how to do it.

Yeah, tables of items should be easy...especially if they aren't at my normal locations, they should be good here. I think there are two locations for both the hook and clothes at the airport. With the clothes, I'm wondering if I can just bike over to the compound wall to get in and go from there. Then yeah, exit and do the bike off the cliff method everyone is doing to maybe stay under elite time.

Thanks for the help.

You can! With the grappling hook (or the codes from the security guards, but the hook is quicker)

Did you try checking one of the cages by the weed farm? The one near the radio tower I mean. There’s usually cocaine there. If I’m not completely satisfied with the loot at the docks, I’ll take a quick detour there omw to the main dock. I get the elite solo everytime and it only adds maybe a minute to my overall time.

Finished it awhile ago and have done some since, but just an update.

Pretty sure Rockstar was messing with me because there was literally no grappling hooks or good drugs around the airport to go with my normal cages at the main dock I hit when I leave that were empty.

I ended up doing what is now kind of a standard new best way of long fin into North Dock, grabbing coke at the glitched two person cage and one of the other cages. Boat over to drainage, standard way in and around, leave with a bike off the cliff to swim away.

Pretty much have been incorporating the North Dock now and check the spot when I do the intel portion since I head that way anyway. And today the water hidden chest was close to the main dock to check there.

Going to shoot for North Dock in for one table of coke, boat to drainage and do my normal run, but also leave my normal way out the Main Dock as I see coke there, too. So primary, money in the office safe, and two cokes. Should be elite and finish around ~12-13 minutes.

2x cocaine is the fastest/max money solo, regardless of location, imo.  Clothes are your friend.  You can manchez the whole island undetected without the disguise, so either truck or grappling hook along the way if not straight from the airport.

I’m usually airport 2x cocaine, head to compound, swim away.  If airport doesn’t have cocaine then I hit Main Docks.  I usually grab guard outfits so there is zero stress.

Yes, and yes, and no.

But this heist is done by now, no?

If you're playing solo, only grabbing coke and paintings (with a preference for coke) sets up a bunch of different heists.

Ok, new one that is frustrating. Obviously shooting for the best outcome with what is available or given to me. Still solo and still going for elite.

Primary: Bearer Bonds

Secondary: No office paintings, one coke at the airstrip behind the cafe (next to the truck), and one coke at the main dock to the right lockup when coming in by Longfin. The rest are weed, cash, or empty.

Optionals: Supply truck at the airstrip, grappling hook at main dock

And here is where the help request comes in as the north dock is pretty bare and while the airstrip has the supply truck and a coke pack, there are no clothes anywhere.....I checked the airstrip spots, north dock spots, main dock spots, and even the west entry point location where there is mostly a set on the dock.

I missed the timing to start up hard mode, so originally I was just going to say screw it and do the OG run of Kosatka drainage entry, simple compound routine, bike to main dock, and just take a coke and one of the weeds and the little cash to fill the bag. But something changed and now the two pacing guards on the road are going different routes...maybe I am just going really quick, but I don't think so since there are triggers for the guard paths or almost all of them are still the same and consistent.

So here was my thought and plan but I can't consistently put it together:

Longfin over to airstrip to grab coke (I seem to get caught while inside grabbing the coke by the guy on the stairs that can see through the shed), boat back to the main dock and grab coke number two (but again am getting caught by someone seeing through the shed), then I was going to boat to the drainage, normal run, swim away and expect a bit longer turn out...so maybe 13 minutes instead of my normal 10-12 based on coke locations. I need to give myself room for time error as both the airstrip and dock up front are new to me.

So I have nothing but two coke locations in different spots and either the Kosatka or the Longfin entry vehicle. I wanted to try the supply truck method for the first time but don't have clothes anywhere near it. Pretty bleak options, but possibly doable with the coke packs?

@alchemist3321 Is aggressive elite an option?

You could also try the newly discovered method to access Western/Southern storage solo but it's quite tricky: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auwBL2iYePE (explanation in description; not my video)

Not sure what aggressive elite is for Cayo.

That video was worth the price of admission. Looks tricky indeed.

@SummerFreeze, it looks like you can only do it on PC? I play on PS4, so I assume it can't be done with a controller? Great video, though! :)

You can still qualify for the elite challenge if you get detected through:

  1. Velum entry *without* hidden weapons
  2. Exploding the main gate (but you need to reach it undetected)

So with your current loot/item locations, you could choose (1) and simply drive to the two coke locations while already detected. You probably did all the prep for a sneaky approach though, and if you plan on getting detected you probably have to do the disruption preps as well. But if you never done an aggressive elite, it might be worth trying -- for fun of course because you will get shot and lose money.

I'm not sure. It could work on console because it really only comes down to doing the right button combination and camera angle. The latter you can see in the video. The button combination is: Press and hold D = move right, + press and hold Shift = run, + right mouse click = aim.

So I guess someone on console would have to try if it works. It can take quite a while to get the hang of it though.

This is your path:

Longfin to Airstrip - Grab Coke

Longfin to Main Dock - Grab Coke

Longfin to Sewer Tunnel - Enter Compound

Exit via jumping off the cliffs

Ive done it in less than 15 minutes many times

Some notes: Shoot the guy at the stairs from distance when you are near the Power STation (Take care, there is a guard, too sometimes.)

You can jump over the wall there to avoid those other two guys in front of cafe.

Take care of camera, tho.
