Lemoyne outlaw Posted January 12, 2021 Share Posted January 12, 2021 hi folks. so i have a little theory. so i have been replaying both red dead redemption 1 and 2. and i noticed something. so in rdr1 john starts the story with just a standard cattleman revolver. and what does arthur start with? just a standard non customized cattleman revolver. see its interesting how the rest of the gang have customized guns. but arthur just has a vanilla gun. i also remember that in the epilogue john has his own customized revolver. but it is not in the first game. so i came to the conclusion that john brought arthurs revolver on his journey. as a way of keeping arthur with him. and its like arthur is still keeping him safe and protecting him. thats my headcanon anyway. its especially more emotional when john uses this gun when he confronts his former gang members. like arthur caught back up with them too. what do you think? billiejoearmstrong8 Posted January 12, 2021 Share Posted January 12, 2021 (edited) Could just be that the standard/non customised cattleman revolver is the weakest and most basic revolver so it makes sense for it to be the starting weapon. Or that because we started with one in RDR1 they thought it would be nice/consistent to start us with one in RDR2 as well. It's possible though, they put in lots of little links between the two games/stories so who knows. Whether they actually intended to imply that or not it's a cool way to think of it. Yes but they're referring to them deliberately putting it in RDR2 as a reference/suggestion that that's where John later got the gun in RDR1, not the other way around. Like how (much more obviously) in RDR2 they showed John building his house and getting his outfit that he later lives in/wears in RDR1.
