Hi all.

I recently finished gta4 campaign on xbox. I would like more gta4 content. Where can I find more? I have 2 expansions, I finished one of them, but I don't feel like playing the other one. What can I do in the main game after finishing it? Where can I find more content? Maybe mods or custom addons that add missions, if such exist. Thanks.

Considering you're playing on Xbox I would indeed forget about mods. If you're looking for more content and missions, well, there's still that other DLC that you don't feel like playing for some reason.

Other than that, if you've already done everything the game has to offer I'm afraid there isn't much left to do other than mess around in the open world.

If you have a jailbroken Xbox 360 you can actually install a few simple scripts that add fairly lengthy and fun content.

For example, you can install the "Treasure Hunter" mod (part 1 and 2) which adds in total 50 wads of cash hidden in the city that you must sequentially find using clues and conscientiously navigating across the city, paying attention to every corner, business store, and building. (It has more resemblance with Stevie cars than with traditional collectibles like the pigeons, but for some reason I found it even more fun and contemplative than Stevie cars, as it got me geniunely searching for places I hadn't paid attention before, without being frustrating, and finding a lot of details and life I had missed in little nooks around all the dense neighborhoods, appreciating the city and its amazing design, recreation and uniqueness of every street in a new way.

There's also a mini game called "Hitman Jobs" that adds random targets to kill all across the city.

And there's other scripts that may add hours of gameplay to you as you can role play a little deeper, like the one that adds fuel usage to all cars and the need to go gas stations.

Modding in console is clearly very limited compared to PC but there are definitely some interesting things.

It's not easy to convert mods to the Xbox version. You can probably forget about that idea.

Which expansion did you play? I highly recommend The Ballad of Gay Tony. So give it a try.

I can buy a PC version. Which mods would you recommend?

The Grunt 281

Finally I'm done with my 100% saves with 100% shooting accuracy and kills in free aim, it is now a complete trio.

I noticed while removing the saves used as security that the base game one is roughly 1 years apart from the DLCs (themselves months apart) , the base game must have been exhausting for me to take such a break :sadkek:

Just finished another playthrough. Picked Revenge, of course, and right after the credits roll, still on Happiness Island, I get a call from an Unknown Caller... and it's Katie asking for a datie :kekw: legitimately took me a couple seconds to register what was off and then had me actually laugh out loud. I think I've had this bug before, but not right after the credits rolled.

I guess poor Niko started hallucinating.

I have a save about 50% through from a couple of years back. Was in two minds about just abandoning it for and waiting to see about this GTA IV remaster rumour. But.. I'm craving some GTA IV action so I might continue on with it.

One time right after finishing the story I got a call from Jeff telling me to meet him at the underground car park to dispose of his now ex-wife. It was a bit awkward considering Niko had just killed Pegorino and was definitely not in the best of moods grieving Kate, then this weirdo calls him right after it to have him dispose of his ex's body. :sadkek:

I probably should've waited for his call before completing the last missions but I found the timing to be quite memorable. :shillkek:

I really hope we have an ambient radio station like the journey in gta VI. Many, many hours I would just spend in the internet Cafe browsing the web with aphex twin and Pruitt igoe in the background.

I never listen to The Journey that much, but when I start changing radio stations and hear Oxygene IV playing, I keep that station on.  I love that song.

All the radio stations in IV were excellent, I don't think there was a single station I didn't listen to.

Listening to this station while driving around the city at the right time and with the right weather can create some memorable moments without you realizing it at first. Of course you could say that about any other station really but I think the The Journey brings a very unique vibe that matches GTA IV's story and atmosphere perfectly. It can be peaceful or foreboding.

Seeing a station like this return in VI would be cool.

It certainly was very fitting to IV's story and atmosphere. I enjoyed all the other stations of course, but like you said the journey brought this unique vibe that is unforgettable.

I could gush about The Journey all day. It got me into Aphex Twin and especially Tangerine Dream. Remote Viewing may not be their most famous song, but it has a certain eeriness that compliments driving around Liberty City in the nighttime fog very well; it also has an unsettling 2 minute intro that’s sadly not included in-game (shame that R* didn’t extend the song in the PS3 version like they did with other tracks on the station). I’m glad the group was able to work on V’s score before Edgar Froese passed away.

In retrospect, I’m a bit bummed that V didn’t feature an ambient station. It would have fit right in with the Epsilon missions, although I’m sure the song selection would have been closer in tone to the music on Self-Actualization (not that that’s a bad thing, just different from what The Journey was going for in Vanilla IV). Maybe we’ll see a successor in VI?

Spoiler

Pointless little anecdote about Aphex Twin. I was surprised to find out that my older brother has started getting into his stuff over the past year or so, solely because a comic he watches keeps referencing him during his stand up. :sadkek:

Definitely not choosing to kill Dwayne over Playboy X during this playthrough.

I like Dwayne: when during their first meeting Niko commenting: "You remind me of me." to Dwayne was 'real talk'.

One thing that pisses me off is once you complete Late Checkout you leave the hotel with two stars and Niko automatically calls Ray to tell him the job's done.

The problem is that cops are still after you and the mission is considered completed by the game, thus starting the short countdown before Niko calls Ray. If you aren't quick or lucky enough to find and steal a car then you'll be forced to walk through that phone call while being vulnerable to the cops that are converging on your position and shooting at you. From that point you either have to be lucky enough to dodge them throughout the full conversation or just cut the phone call short to make your escape.

Every time I do a playthrough I pray for a car that's close by so that I can leave the area unscathed and listen to the full conversation, not only that but if I do find a car nearby then I have to be quick enough to avoid Niko cancelling the phone call right as I'm entering it.

All this could've been avoided if the mission required us to lose the cops first in order to complete the mission, or by simply letting us run and enter cars while on the phone. Man, that sh*t is the bane of my existence. :sadkek:
