Sometimes I take passengers to the car wash.  On the way to a mission in The Lost and Damned, I went to the car wash with Johnny, Malc and two other passengers.

I took your advice and took Michelle to the car wash.  She was not impressed.

This is true. A red wallpaper texture for Luis' phone does exist but it goes unused AFAIK. Maybe there's some way to use it in the game, I haven't checked.

Found it in the files as well as a LCPD wallpaper!

I think I'll have to check if TBOGT's SCO scripts make use of these themes somewhere, but AFAIK EFLC is just a very stripped-down version of IV so the chances of that is very low.

I remember the red background showing up in multiplayer but it had to have been a glitch.

The red Badger theme is kinda reminiscent of the default theme on Huang's PDA from CTW, don't you think?

I wouldn’t know, I haven’t played CTW

To be honest, you're better off not playing it anyway, the difficulty balance is too damn horrible for this game to be any good at all.

I like the idea of it, I just hate the isometric crap

TBoGT is just weird with certain things, subtitles on the french version are typically off with the associated quote, nonexistent or jump to the next so fast you can't see it.

You are pretty much screwed if you can't understand english, TLaD and the base game don't have that problem but I don't know why, anyone knows ?

Also the Burget Shot of Star Junction not having an icon, like the russian shop still having the icon on TLaD despite being unavailable (moving against the doors should give you the icon if you are curious) .

This is what happens when you’re inferior to GTA IV and TLAD. Sometimes being weird is just a thing.😉

Was mucking around in IV after a long time yesterday and something amazing happened.

I baited this guy into punching me in front of a cop. The cop started to chase him on foot and I followed them promptly, eager to see how the chase unfolded. They ended up climbing up to the subway station (I think it was Schottler station, I could be wrong). The guy, in his desperation to get away from the cop, ends up falling the tracks and gets run over by a train.

i somehow bait another guy into punching me in front of the same cop. The cop begins to chase the guy and catches up to him quickly. As he begins to arrest him, he ends up falling on the track (lmao). Another train is arriving fast and the cop is running out of time. The guy who was about to be arrested can hardly believe his luck and is starting to run away.  Just as I think the cop has glitched and that he will get run over, he gets up at the last second  before the train can run him over - like an action movie, and starts full pelt chasing the guy. The two of them literally run all the way on the tracks above the streets of Broker.  I try to keep up with them but unfortunately the game's age finally shows and the cop disappears when I rotate my camera to look behind for any incoming trains. The guy is still there though and he ends up getting run over by the train I just avoided.

Absolute cinema. I played this game to death when I was younger and even today, now that I am older and played much more advanced games (technically), it still surprises me.

Sounds like your game is just glitched

So, the 360 version of Sonic Unleashed just received a recompiled port to PC! Shame that the HD version isn’t officially available outside of PS3, 360 and Xbox backwards compatibility. It could do with a proper rerelease a la Sonic X Shadow Generations (that perhaps addresses some of the pacing issues with the Werehog stages), but that’s neither here nor there). The real kicker here is that the devs made tools to assist with recompiling other 360 games in the future.

Considering the subpar quality of GTA IV’s PC port (without installing FusionFix and DXVK/Proton, as well as brute-forcing past the poor optimization with modern hardware), I wonder how well a recompilation of the 360 version would run compared to what R* actually released on PC.

Spoiler

I doubt it will actually happen, though. R*/T2 would take legal action the second they find out about it, especially if they ever plan to let Double Eleven give IV the RDR1 treatment. If so, hopefully they don’t neglect platforms where an older version of game is available this time around (i.e. RDR1 remains capped at 30FPS and UN still has the headless zombie glitch on Xbox)…

It could also be fun to see the original 7th Gen version of V receive a native port: a sort of “what if” scenario where the 8th Gen/PC remaster never existed, if you will. Saints Row 2 would be interesting to see, too; I assume the big patch (or was it a new port altogether? I don’t remember) that was primarily being worked on by the late Mike “IdolNinja” Watson is never releasing at this point (the reboot’s failure probably torpedoed any interest in finishing the project). EDIT: Better yet, this opens up the possibility for a native port of SR1!

My dream ports from x360 would be: PGR 3, PGR 4, Saints Row 1, MCLA Original and Complete Edition, Forza Motorsport 2, 3 and 4 and Horizon 1 and 2, Import Tuner Challenge, Ace Combat 6, Tekken 6, GTA IV and V xbox 360 port, even RDR 1 with multiplayer, and if

ps3 recompilation becomes possible then almost everything from it especially gt5 and gt6 and Ratchet and Clank A Crack in Time. The fact now even we are even getting ps emu soonish on Android this year, what a time to be alive, Xenia Canary for Android is also my wish too along with xemu (Og xbox emu) for Android.

Plus Winlatar 10 is also amazing along with Gamehub (pc emus).

EthrealSX2 new ps2 emu for Android is also on the way though the dev is taking his to make it better even.

I guess it will be a question too often asked over time, but I want to make sure I have the best experience and this forum is the right place. What is the best way to play GTA IV today on PC? What mods do I need? Vanilla obviously.

I have the game on Steam purchased many years ago and with the new version The Complete Edition (for me they were DLCs of great quality and enjoyment, a great way to spin their stories, it was all there all the time and we didn't know it back in 2008, awesome). My hardware although humble should be enough to moderate it with "brute force", I count with a: i7 7700K + 1080 GTX + 32GB DDR4 and I still play at 1080p@60fps.

Recompiling a game isn't exactly a walk in the park but I suppose that it could be doable as a worst case scenario. Preferably though it'd be best if we could just get the source code of this game so that we can make a 64 bit executable.

El Dorado

now this by itself doesn't mean much - double eleven works and/or worked with fallout and minecraft, both of them fits the 'best selling IPs ever'

but, IF someone is working on GTA 4, chances are good that's them
