Back at 'building' the latest ultimate save +1 for The Lost and Damned since the integrated keyboard of my laptop recently stopped doing annoying stuff.

TLaD is surprisingly light on special vehicles if avoid mission failure/death and do not go for the ones in side missions as soon as possible, 14 story missions completed so far and more than half of the parking spaces are empty.

I'm currently doing gang wars with some friend activities inbetween, grenade kill count properly skyrocketed (above 100 currently, the top 2 with the sawn-off shotgun) .

I had 2 where the fight ended in 2 grenades, that's what I call a successful ambush.

so i have been re reading one of my favorite comic series again. it's called kill or be killed. this is the closest thing i have seen to a gta 4 comic book. it is set in modern day new york city. it has plenty of locations that gta 4 has in the game. like coney island, dumbo and more. the story is all about killing. more specifically killing a bad person every month. its got plenty of gta type stuff in it. it even involves the russian mafia. it kind of reminds me of gta chinatown wars. since that game had comic book style cutscenes and is set in liberty city as well. i highly recommend this book to anyone that loves the dark gritty crime stories set in new york. it's also similar to the movie death wish 1974. if you like gta 4. you will likely enjoy this. if you have read this book let me know what you think. here is a link to the comic so you can get an idea of what it's like.

So after 12 years of playing GTA IV, I learned something new and impressive. If you’ve ever driven through Star Junction and heard a weird random humming noise like I always have… it’s actually a real Times Square phenomenon. There is a sound art installation by Max Neuhaus from 1977 under the grates in Times Square that produces a constant low hum.

In game I always thought I was hearing a car engine stuck revving like a glitch. It shows the level of detail rockstar puts into their games

Where's that GTA IV remaster "leak" coming from? that some been saying aside RDR on PC? Anyone knows? I just assumed if there was something it was only related to the complete edition update we got on PC back in like 2018/2020 and the backwards compatibility on consoles nothing else.

I am fine with fusionfix and all the texture mods modders worked on for years, the game is basically fixed with those, I believe they "might" be aware of these great mods/fixes.

As far as I know it was only mentioned after the Definitive Edition flop which led to its cancellation, supposedly. I don't know if there actually was a remaster in the works or if it was merely people speculating.

Driving in Liberty City is stressful, but the driving standards across the bridges is super stressful.

Those random turns some of the cars do, always on the bridges. Anywhere else they don't act like that.

I don't know the name of the in-game bridge (Brooklyn one) but there is a construction site, that's where it gets the most weird.

Anytime you drive across them, you will always see a car with the rear end bashed in because the muppet behind it braked too late.

I saw a PMP 600 with its rear end bashed in, and for no reason I started bursting out laughing when I saw it 😆

I forgot how dumb Police is in GTA 4. I killed some police to get 4 stars then hid behind this wall, and watched the police shoot at it for like 20 minutes.

They didn't try to come to me from the sides or anything.

I looked away for a second and they eventually killed me, maybe the helicopter did it, not sure. :kekw:

You installed some fusion fix, console visuals mod? Some small fixes, extras.
Or pure vanilla gameplay?

Only DXVK to get more frames on Steam version, that's it.

aha, that's fine too i guess, but i heard on some cases DXVK dont give much for some reason
Fusion fix and console visuals brings nice stuff, many new options with blur, even "color grading" which normally is unique for each game, so you can have "colors' of TBOGT filter playing as Niko
Some much better car refelctions and many many more
Or stuff like suits from console which are open and you got completly different ones, with turtleneck

Some may like it, some not.

Worth to read in free moment

Roman Bellic is something else.  He slept with a mother and daughter on the same night 🤣

He mentioned it in a phone calls with Niko.

He also apologies for sleeping with twins in Roman's Holiday, Roman is a true player.

I always thought it was funny how Roman, Hossan, Ivan and Mohammed all boast about the women they're getting once they started living in America.

To me that almost looks like someone pasted a PC racing wheel onto a empty car dashboard.

Speaking of mistakes done by Rockstar, there are plenty I saw in IV, here are some examples: Francis International Airport sign on opposite side of the runway and near a big parking lot, under normal circumstances you could physically squeeze through there if you crouched and moved but this collision prevents you to do it, in Dukes there is a freeway ramp under which if you try to move all the way under it you can't, another collision mishap.. in Algonquin there are a bunch of buildings where on rooftops there are meshes that are not unwrapped, causing a distorted and stetched texture appearance. The list goes on, but those came to mind first as I can still remember them clearly, despite having seen them initially years ago.

Does anyone know if I can get the multiplayer achievements (social club) if I own an old console , they do work right? Xbox360/PS3 pages are now same as PC unlike in the past?

It's just weird having GTA IV but the multiplayer not available, yet the multiplayer achievements remain locked there. Unless with those multiplayer mods  you can still somehow earn those mp achievements.

It was probably discussed here a few times already, but still. Guys, am I the only one who thinks that Rockstar kinda messed up the ending of IV by making Pegorino a possible final antagonist? I just came back to thinking the plot of the game over and realized that he just doesn't fit into the story as the final enemy Niko has to deal with. I think Bulgarin would've been a more logical choice as... well, he's Niko's nemesis, isn't he?
On the one hand, I can understand why the devs made Pegorino one of the two possible final antagonists: he's the last man Niko works with before deciding to quit, so he kills Kate to get revenge on Niko for destroying his chance to rise in the criminal underworld. He's basically Niko's last step in quitting the life of crime, the last loose end.

On the other hand, now that I think of it, it feels like Pegorino's story should have ended shortly after the "Pest Control" mission where one of his important associates (Ray) gets killed on his orders. I think it would've been more logical if the cops finally arrested / killed him at that point and ended his partnership with Niko since his organization is already very weak and as he constantly keeps remarking, the police are onto him.

In that case the only loose ends left would be Bulgarin and Dimitri who were after Niko from the beginning of the game. Killing them both in the end seems more logical.

As to choosing the ending, well... Probably we might've been able to choose either to broker kind of a peace agreement with the Russian Mafia or to chase down and kill first Dimitri and then Bulgarin. I'm not actually sure there would've been a choice at all.

Sure, killing both Bulgarin and Dimitri in the original IV would've destroyed TBOGT's storyline, but I guess the devs could've shifted towards Luis and Tony dealing with Roco and the mobsters, not Bulgarin and Russian Mafia. I honestly like the way Ray is presented in TBOGT but it sometimes feels... off, especially when it gets too comical. It destroys the image of a powerful frightening figure from IV that had been haunting Niko for a while. And it's almost the same as with Pegorino: this character simply feels out of place as the antagonist of TBOGT. I have a strong feeling that Bulgarin's story should've ended for good together with Dimitri's back in the original IV, and it should've been Niko, not Luis, to finish his life's last chapter. It looks like a greater closure for Niko than killing Pegorino and avenging Kate.

I sure do like the plot of all three games, some moments less, some moments more. But this one just irks me when I bring it up in mind. What do you guys think of it?

That's a random npc? (like random encounter?)or a character from the story?

With these old GTAs we still discover stuff we didn't know were there, like that example how you can turn off the car, or park it with tires turned, or stuff from San Andreas that I only learned about a year ago take a picture of yourself with other npcs etc.
