There's something that's always intrigued me during TBoGT's end credits.

 

When we see Brucie and Mori fight, Mori is throwing punches and kicks at his brother with a set of moves that's never used outside of this little scene and the brief introduction to LC Cage Fighters during Momma's Boy. I've always wondered if Rockstar intended to give Luis a different fighting style instead using Niko's once again but dropped the idea during development, perhaps due to time constraints or something else.

Of course Rockstar could've made new animations solely for these two scenes so as to make the fights appear more dynamic and cinematic without relying on the more predictable punches that npcs usually throw—after all they're known for their attention to detail so I wouldn't put it past them.

But then again, the fighting style used by npcs and the player is great and is serviceable enough to show these characters fighting in such short scenes. I don't know, maybe I'm reaching but admittedly it would've been cool for Johnny and Luis to both have different fighting styles with new finishers as well. They put an emphasis on Niko's "Red Army" training and I've always found it weird that Johnny and Luis share Niko's moves and finishers.

Something I never noticed until my most recent playthrough:  during the mission "Do you Have Protection", while you are in the car with Dimitri, if you put the radio station to Vladivostok, Dimitri will make random comments like "Mikhail and I used to listen to this song", etc.  You can also do this with Pegorino and JNR.  Anyone else know of any characters this works with?

According to in-game news, Ammu-Nation stores were only recently closed before the events of the game, but there appear to be no evidence of them ever existing. You'd expect to see their former locations all boarded up or something. I guess this is just an oversight.

Works with all friends (whether hanging out or in missions) and girlfriends. Packie likes Liberty Rock Radio and Roman likes the RnB station for example. I can't remember if it works with other characters you drive with in missions or not but knowing those two do there's probably more.

While replaying a mission, I noticed the person I was chasing after was wearing different clothes to the first time I started the mission.

 

First time he was wearing a tracksuit top and tracksuit pants.  Second time he was wearing the same top but had jeans instead of the tracksuit pants.

I took Michelle out for a drink.  However while Niko was pissed, Michelle didn't touch the stuff.  Niko made reference to it.

 

Anyway we got to a taxi, there was two passengers in the back, Niko dragged out one passenger and Michelle dragged out the other.

 

I laughed when I saw her dragging out the passenger

When you pu on VibeFM when hanging out with Roman, he comments about how he likes these tracks and that they're "sex music" or whatever. 

Packie also makes a comment when you put the radio to Liberty Rock Radio and syas something like "I don't care what Ma says, this is playing at my funeral".

 

idk about the other characters but could be something fun to test out.

I went broke real bad in GTA IV right after "Russian Revolution" a couple of days ago and interesting stuff happened.

 

...

 

I ran out of weapons and ammo during the warehouse fight so I reloaded my save, spent all of my $4k-something on weapons, redid the mission and even then I managed to beat the mission with just 10% of my health and exactly $43 left. $1 went to a health refill and I picked up some of that hidden armor in the little junkyard near the Broker swingset glitch park.

 

Then "Roman's Sorrow" came on, I thought Roman was just calling to hang out so I picked up the phone and realized I started another mission without saving. So I had to redo "Russian Revolution" all over again, put the phone on sleep mode and then went to save before starting with the next mission.

 

Driving Roman to Bohan during the mission took away $5 from my $42, and quite some after the mission, Roman called to hang out and spawned all the way in Hove Beach so that's another $5 gone to hell. Taking Roman to Burger Shot only worsened things when $24 were deducted and all I got left with was $8.  Only now do all of Niko and Roman's dialogue make sense...

I think Alderney could have did with more Burgershot restaurants.  There is only one in northern Alderney.

 

I noticed there is a Cluckin' Bell in Alderney, but the health inspector closed it down.  Maybe roaches were found frying with the chicken.

Pretty much all the characters have a preferred radio station, was a nice little detail I always liked, I hate mori but I gotta respect his music choice, eflc radio broker is

Alderney City has a quite amount of hot dog vendors though, there's even two right next to each other not far from Mr. Fuk's Rice Box.

 

One thing that's rare in the city is street burger vendors. I know they exist but they pale in comparison to the amount of hot dog vendors.

While going out on a mission with Packie, Black Sabbath - Heaven & Hell was playing on the radio.  Packie then said he wanted it played at his funeral, no matter what his mother thought.

What is (a) your a favourite and (b) your least favourite safehouse?

 

Myself:

 

Favourite is Playboy X's apartment in North Algonquin.  Great location, and great views from the patio.

 

Least favourite is the Alderney safehouse.  It's in a miserable location.  Horrible place.

Its my least favourite too but I'm glad it was there, every borough should have had a safehouse imo. I wish Dukes had one and we got some alternate arrangement in Broker later on too.

When I'm doing missions in Alderney, I would stay in the Alderney safehouse.  Apart from that, I wouldn't stay there, but I would keep two cars parked outside.

My favorite is probably Playboy's penthouse. You get a nice view of the city, a spacious balcony and easy access to the fire escape. In fact I always go down the fire escape for some reason, I just think it's neat. Claude's exclusive outfit is also a cool bonus, same goes for the pool table or the receptionist's computer in the lobby who lets you use it for free!

 

My least favorite is probably the apartment in Alderney. I don't think it's bad nor do I have anything bad to say about it, it doesn't really leave an impression. At that point in the story you already have at least 1 luxurious penthouse, so getting this apartment feels more like the traditional "third island" safehouse that you get for the sake of having one there. Still, I like that the radio inside is tuned to K109, I just wish you could see through the windows as I think it would've added to the overall atmosphere of the place and wouldn't make me feel like I'm sleeping in a fancy bunker.

 

I like all the other safehouses for various reasons.

 

The apartment in Hove Beach is small and dirty but still cozy in a way. I also love its location, the elevated railway right in front of it really adds to the atmosphere of the busy neighborhood, it's pretty iconic to me and having been in that part of Brooklyn myself, it's a pretty faithful recreation. And again, I wish you could see through the windows, seeing the train passing by from time to time would've been cool.

 

The apartment in Bohan is nice and cozy too, especially when you're forced to go there in the story. It truly feels like a new beginning in a new neighborhood and I always liked that. I also love that a preacher spawns across the street, hearing these guys blabbering about from inside has always made this place special to me. It's like being in the crazy part of Bohan, you don't enjoy being there but at that point in the story you have to make do with what's been given to you.

 

The penthouse in Middle Park is great, it truly shows that Niko and Roman have made it. It has a cool layout, a laptop, a nice TV, the radio inside is tuned to Electro-Choc and there's a sweet view of the sunrise, what else do you need? Well, probably a garage. I'm okay with reserved parking spots for low-end apartments but getting your own personal garage with this penthouse would've been the icing on the cake in my opinion.

Each of them in some way is my favourite. I'd agree with the comment above about Alderney safehouse: transparent windows would've been a nice feature, especially in rainy weather. It would've been cool to have a house, not an apartment, somewhere in Leftwood, closer to the end of the game. 
I also wish we had more safehouses in TLAD and TBOGT, esp the latter since it only has one by default. Yeah, the DLCs are pretty small, but nevertheless driving through the map each time is tedious. I think TBOGT could use the above mentioned idea of having an actual house as a safehouse. As for TLAD, it could use some safehouses around the map, esp after the completion of the game since at that time you have only one left, somewhere in the corner of the map. I guess a safehouse in Broker / Bohan and some cheap apartment in Algonquin would fit Johnny well.

I love walking to the pier there in the evening to watch the beautiful sunsets.

 

If Roman kept it maintained, gave it a fresh lick of paint and some new furnishings, it would have been very nice.

There's something that just hits right about bustin' out the front door of that safehouse; blinded briefly by the bright sunlight before the camera adjusts.  The sound of the traffic and pedestrians, a notification pings.  Hove Beach, Liberty City, GTA IV, home.
