When I'm playing TLaD, I don't walk into Burgershot, I ride in on my bike.

After such bad manners, the Welcome to Burgershot muthaf*cka guy probably gave 50% discounts on all burgers when news of the events of Mr Phillips broke out

I love that guy 😄  I say he's fond of the Bleeder Burgers.

He works in Cluckin' Bell too.

Somethng I only noticed in my last GTA4 playthrough, there are several Burgershots who don't appear on the radar, until you've found and entered them first. Only then the burger blip will be on your radar.

IV does this thing when it won't show the blip of the location until you enter it. I really hate this feature. Who thought this was a good idea?

The one at Star Junction doesn't in TBoGT for me, there is also a Super Star café that's unuseable even during a friend activity.

There is the bar with a board to play darts on the left side of Algonquin, doesn't show up in the base game.

The superstar café is a real shame because it even has an explorable interior and everything, so why not be able to use it in friend activities.. while there are spots you can drink that don't have an interior at all

You can use it. You can take friends there to eat. Or do you mean you can't do anything at the superstar cafe in star junction (because I know the one close to middle park works).

I'll stick with the Steinway Beer Garden in Dukes.  Irish pub where plenty of Blarneys Stout is drunk 🍻

Yeah, the way he looks away before shooting. I just love how they wrote Niko as someone with conscience. Which is why I also liked Victor Vance.

You can get 25 000$ easily from selling higher-end vehicles and the lucky Securicar chain (done with that van ? Look another one already ! )

I might try to sell a Laundromat, since I secured one they appear in traffic from time to time, it's like the Stretch E or the Sultan RS : never in traffic unless you 'tempt' the game by having one that's existing in memory or something.

It might be broken but otherwise that's nearly every place to eat at Star Junction, I didn't checked for that kind of tiny confined diner like the one where you meet French Tom.

The one I talked about has the same style (if not interior) as the one at Steinway, it might be occupied by irish gangsters too.

This is going to be fairly easy to get 100% shooting accuracy unless the next mission with a designated helicopter takedown is just as annoying, it is the one with the guy hanging to a Maverick to escape I believe, pretty sure it is close enough for a grenade or some laser guided headshot at worst.

I killed much more than 20 (or so) enemies with a knife but the game is hesitating to give me the kills even if the final strike really looked like the actual finishing blow (instead of damage due to ragdoll) , during Late Checkout I knifed a guy with a fraction of health left, the most notable event lately.

The knife might be capable of extra damage like the baseball bat because I got some NPCs who suddently died lately even if they were decently far from 1 or 2 sectors of health.

Auto aim will eventually drag the reticle away from the intended target.

It's been really, really annoying to use on PC with a controller, the little flick to get it up for headshots is so annoying.

I mostly switch to using the mouse when on foot or in combat.

Auto aim on PC ? I wouldn't bother with the power of a mouse at hand, is analog movement registered ?

And I checked for a reminder of how old Splinter Cells deal with movement on PC : they use the mouse wheel to increase/decrease the speed by default, it doesn't sound like it would be a big deal for GTA and vehicle acceleration, radio can go elsewhere.

The reason why I even bother with controller on PC is the driving, that's why.

I don't care about it too much but having to switch is a bit of a nuisance.

Canon choices (I’d like to think):

Save Ivan (“If Vlad wants you dead you can’t be that bad.”)

Save Cherise (“Dwayne will not have to worry about having that girl’s blood on his hands on top of everything else.”)

Save Clarence (I know he kills him in the random encounter anyways, but I just don’t think he would ice him unnecessarily.)

Kill Playboy X (He likes Dwayne better.)

Kill Derrick (He’s a sickly and depressed junkie and Francis offers him money.)

Spare Darko (“Kill me then! you’d be doing me a favor. Ah!” Niko realizes that killing him would change nothing.)

Revenge (“I’ve made the mistake of working with you before, it’s not one I’ll repeat. Goodbye.” Not to mention he turned on him and tried to kill him and his cousin multiple times. It’s totally against Niko’s moral code to do the deal.)

Wasn’t too sure where else to put this, but after 15 years and so many playthroughs I think I’ve finally that point with GTA IV where I’m officially burnt out.

I’ve noticed that the last couple times I’ve tried to start a new save and just haven’t had any motivation to keep playing it. To be fair it’s not just GTA IV, but the series in general.

I think with GTA IV I’ll put it on ice for a year or two and come back after some time away. Honestly since 2008 I’ve probably only left it for a couple of months at time. I’m pretty sure I’ve done about 16 playthroughs or something like that so the point had to be broken sometime I guess.

Still love GTA IV of course, but yeah. For the time being it’s off into the sunset.

Did you get the game on the day it was released?

Eh, I can't blame you for that. When you replay these games for too long for too much, you end up burning yourself out. I love SA's campaign, but I won't be lying if I said that I got REALLY burnt out from it. Even when replaying the game with Storyline Enhancement & Story Mode 2.0, I couldn't feel the same levels of excitement or enjoyment I once had when they were still fresh to me. These days, I just reload a old save file, drive to the Los Santos Tower, look around Los Santos from the rooftop and slowly feel that I've exhausted myself and everything about this game. It's a feeling that is better experienced than explained.

I got the limited edition on PS3 on release, but the last few years I’ve just been playing the 360 version.

I went down the digital route getting it for the Xbox 360.  Very handy as I also play it on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

I think it was around this time nine years ago when my adventures in Liberty City started.

Guys, I have a head canon.

Mikhail Faustin (later Dimitri Rascalov) and Ray Bulgarin actually aren’t the actual bosses of their respective Russian Mafia syndicates. Rather, they’re just top lieutenants of some form or another who have been sent to expand their illegal businesses overseas. Russian Mafia, Triad, Sicilian Mafia and Yakuza clans are actually generally a lot larger than American Mafia syndicates based on people having less opportunities and more stuff being illegal than in the United States. Plus, they also have to be even more secretive in order to help them get by and everything like that. And of course, the cartels of Mexico are usually the biggest of them all.

Good idea, I personally never thought of that. I always thought of Russian Mafia as just a local gang, having no connections outside of Liberty. Now I'm starting to wonder who might be behind their actions in the city...

I suppose it could also work this way: Bulgarin is the hypothetical head of Russian Mafia or at least the leader of a very big and strong faction operating in Europe and Russia. Faustin and Rascalov could be these "lieutenants" you mentioned, appointed by him. When things started to go wrong with Niko involved and the trouble he created for their operations in LC (and also Faustin getting out of control and becoming more and more unhinged), Bulgarin arrives to the city personally as a "problem solver" to deal with the issues. Now that I think of it, it would've been great if we had more of Bulgarin in IV as he's Niko's archenemy after all. He's further revealed as a character in TBOGT, but I feel like it would've been more appropriate for Niko, not Luis, to deal with him. It would've been a really good ending to Niko's story and it's more appropriate since for him it's a personal vendetta.

Your concept kinda reminded me of the movie "Equalizer" where the protag kills a group of Russian gangsters and an enforcer is sent to the city by their top bosses to deal with the problem.

Thanks man! What you also said could also very well be as well where Ray Bulgarin is the head of this particular Russian Mafia group. Dimitri could’ve very well phoned in Ray Bulgarin, telling him about how Mikhail had gotten out of hand so Ray probably told Dimitri to have Niko get rid of him so that he could be promoted from a foot soldier to a lieutenant. Additionally, Timur is probably the underboss of the organization with Ray Bulgarin being the boss. It is my own head-canon that Niko Bellic and Timur actually know each other despite never sharing screen time. When Niko worked for Vlad, Mikhail and Dimitri, I also think he was unaware that they work for Ray and Timur.

He definitely wasn't. If he suddenly realised it, he'd just either try to kill them or escape together with Roman as he knew what Bulgarin was capable of.

Yeah, could be. Because it just doesn't feel right that Bulgarin came to the city from Europe just to deal with Niko. The Mafia business  needed clean up and Dimitri probably asked him for help in his operations or smth and also told him as a side note that Bellic was in the city. And tben Ray just stayed in the city to expand the power of the crime family further.

What doesn't feel right is that why Ray doesn't appear in the Revenge ending when Niko attacks the ship, and basically in any endings in IV. Perhaps Dimitri tried reaching him but he had already lost hope in his lieutenant or just wanted the business in the city all to himself and Timur, and left Rascalov at Niko's mercy.

I just saw this article on Edge and what the f*ck, this some GTA IV Tw@t sh*t. TLDR; Weight loss by some type of oil without any exercise or control of calorie intake.

Edit: It's called "slimming oil", inbefore they get sued to sh*t by Take 2 for copying their humor.

To Live and Die in Alderney, I keep getting a wanted star I obtain but never evade, seem to occur near the end of the entire scripted part, around the van.

I'm trying to figure out a way to keep the number of stars obtained and evaded the same.

EDIT : did it, destroying the helicopter might be the reason, that or it's going over the wall around the parking space with the getaway van or it's Phil being stuck near the place where the cars are left.

Do any of you go on the Higgins Helitours?  I enjoy going out on them the odd time.

Went on a few a long time ago, planning to go again. Are they btw played in random order, not always the same? I mean there should be tours over all boroughs and so far I've seen only Algonquin and maybe Bohan.

The tours visit Broker, North, West and East Algonquin and a tour of the major bridges.

I play them in random order.
