What kind of Futuristic setting would you guys like to see for a new ip?

There's various settings Rockstar can go with, but Sci Fi is one I've always been interested in seeing. It can go in any direction, a dystopian more grounded future, A utopian future with flying cars and advanced tech, or a retro futuristic

I mean, Rockstar was able to make an old west setting work with the Red Dead series. I think Rockstar could pull off a sci fi or future setting brilliantly if they tried, it just can't be a Gta game, Like how Red Dead wasn't called Gta due to how different it's setting was

Yea but theres a difference between calling back to an already documented point in history and having to speculate on what itll be like X years into the future

It would be good to see San Fierro in the future. Not like Watchdogs but like CyberPunk night city but with SF instead of NC. And less bugs rofl.

GTA2 has the background to make for a great cyberpunk story; mega corporation that controls the government more or less, while laws are only enforced via a brutal police state when it serves the ones in power. Then again that’s pretty much every great sci fi/cyberpunk story in a nutshell

Yes you are correct. I wonder will Rockstar ever do something like this again. A gritty dystopian future with a seedy and violent atmosphere. Could be a nice departure if they don't feel like lampooning reality of life today.

Yeah that's one of the only times Rockstar attempted a futuristic or sci fi setting, the other game being Body Harvest

None, there's way too many futuristic games these days, games with grounded/real life settings is what makes Rockstar, Rockstar, whenever is being a hitman in New York, an outlaw in the late 1800's or a detective in Post-War america, that's their identity, their vision.

If you say futuristic, i would love to see near dystopian future.
Not your average postapocalyptic grit, but something that would evolve from your average life and accepted by citizens as normality - and that would scare you shirtless.

Subdermal smartphones.

Daily hate sessions.

Neofacts.

Microdrone assassinations for petty reasons.

Ultracorrectness and peaceful violence.

Underground lowtech like ham radios, face antirecon and gait modifiers in shoes.

DNA manipulations.

Things like that you can see now in early development.
