clothes with special abilities / perks

Hi all,

this thread is to list and show all abilities, which some clothes bring with:

bulletproof helmets: reduce head shot damage

bulletproof nightvision/ thermal helmet: same effect like above + the special visions

heavy vest / heavy pants (from old heists): reduce damage effect / slow down your movement (in classic heists only?)

scuba outfit: unlimited air + faster swimming (its get activated, when entering water)

simple underwater scuba masks/rebreather: more/ longer air support, while underwater

parachute: opens the parachute, when falling (quite logic)

My questions:

1.)Im wondering , if the bulletproof gloves have an effect, too?

2.) Did I miss something? Feel free to add

Reserve chute lets you open twice in one drop, or land and still have a chute. When it works.

Good point! I know these mechanics since 2013, but never ever got it to work. How does it work exactly with the second pull during the fall?

Press Y (triangle? exit vehicle) to unstrap your current chute, and then you will go into a stablilised fall again with a new one.

FWIW this mechanism is used in a few of the newer Parachuting 'races' if you want to practice without going back to Ammunation.

SummerFreeze

Masks: If you have more than one star, they remove a wanted level if put on or removed out of sight of the cops. (Includes the nightvision goggles under gear.)

Sorry for this "side question", but are THIS the Bulletproof Helmets with Special Vision(s)?!

And if yes, the 4 Binocular is Heatvision, and the 2 Binocular is Nightvision -> yes?! 🤔

Yes.

Dual Lens = Night Vision

Quad Lens = Thermal Vision

And yes, they are bulletproof.

Ok, i use this Thread for another additional Question, depends n the Special Abilities:

I've bought the Night Vision Bulletproof Helmet - btw wich is also compatibel with the Mask Glitch!

Can i only activate/deactivate the Night/Thermal Vision over the "Mini-M-Menue" in Accessoires?!

On/Off is also possible when i open/close the Visor, but also this goes only via the Mini-M-Menue ...

-> Isn't there kinda a "Shortcut", that i can faster on/off the special ability of the Helm?

From my experience, the only way its automatically switchable, is if you already did the menu activation and load into another session.

I never wear mine, but when I did during the snow fall and I wanted to be a lazy jerk using the guided missles from my submarine, every new session I joined, the first thing my character did was flip them down or up, but it was activated when I put them back down.

So after that long exposition, just set yourself up and then go join a lobby or a mission. You should be good to go.

The default hotkey is F11 (hold) but you can change in in controls settings. My option for it is K.

This way you can activate the special vision while the visor is down and then bring it up via the hotkey when you want it disabled.

Holding > on the D pad makes your character flip the goggles [and visor on bike helmets] up and down. Flip them down, go into the interaction menu to activate them, then flip them back up. When you flip them down, it’ll activate thermal/nightvision. When you flip them up, it turns it off. There’s your shortcut. Only issue is you have to reset it every time you jump lobbies/reboot the game.

I think my Thermal saved outfit has them on when I equip it, so I think I must have turned them on then saved it?
