If you were tasked with writing the plot of GTA VI, what would the story be about? Where would it take place? When? And who would be the characters?

Colombian 19 year old grew up poor, got caught stealing food to feed his siblings because his dad was killed by national police. While running from the police in the streets of a Medellin like city a car of sicarios for the cartel pull up and open the door, telling him to get in. He doesn't want to because his dad died because he worked for the cartel, but what choice did he have now. He jumps in the car and there's no turning back from there. He's introduced to the heads of the cartel, telling them about his situation and why he was running from police.

The kid is sent to Vice City to help the cartel solidify their foothold, the heads promising that his siblings will be taken care of. He flies to VC the next day on a plane with 500 kilos of cocaine. His job is to provide security for the shipment, after that's done he'll handle distribution to the different distributors set up in Vice City. A few months later a deal goes wrong and the distributor tries to run off with the drugs, the kid is forced to gun them down. Only the kid and the guy running off were present at the meet. The distributor's gang hears gunshots and runs towards the meet, to find one of their leaders dead with the kid still holding his gun out.

The story is spun as the kid going rogue and trying to get away with the money and drugs. The drug lords back in south america who have been taking care of his siblings kill them. The kid finds this out and sets out on revenge.

It is present day Vice City, 2023 to be exact as that seems like the most likely date for Gta VI to ever come out. There are 2 protagonists. There's Alejandro Ramirez, A 45 year old Half Colombian Half Cuban American born and raised in Little Havana and born in 1978. His father Gonzalo was the second drug lord of the the Ramirez cartel in Colombia after his father Rico. Gonzalo expanded the cartel to North America including Vice City which is where he started business in North America and he made the cartel bigger than it was. His mother Lucia was a woman originally from Havana who had moved to Vice City and due to how poor her and her family was, She had to work as a prostitute, but Gonzalo helped her out and they would eventually fall in love and get married. The cartel would go on to be massive and grow really fast. Alejandro when he was of age eventually started working with his father, doing various jobs and rising up the ranks. Alejandro succeeded his father and is now the current drug lord of the Ramirez cartel, The cartel deals in Drugs, Human trafficking, Arms dealing, Car theft rings, Illegal gambling, etc. When playing as Alejandro you are running multiple businesses and keeping them running, you can bring members with you into free roam. You have the choice to not partake in businesses and have others in the cartel take care of them while you kick back and relax or partake in non business activities, You can still partake in these jobs tho if you want to, it's your decision since your the boss. Alejandro is a very dry and very charming man, but he has a major temper and you don't want to f*ck with him, Though he's not nearly as psychotic as Trevor. He owns various businesses and properties, one of them being a mansion in Starfish Island. The cartel does business throughout Vice City, The state of Florida and various places in the Caribbean and South America and Mexico while dealing with other cartels and gangs as well as the law of course. Then there's Dick O'Connor, A 28 year old Irish American originally from Carcer City and born in 1995. His father Bryan was a FIB agent and his Mother Katy was a lawyer. He is an undercover cop for the Vcpd. He is very sarcastic and good at his job and has a cool head, but his dedication can make him bit hard to work with, but despite this he's very well respected and one of the best cops in the field, He is even best friends with the current President of the United States Jim Hunter who is parody of Joe Biden, Dick is also married but has no kids. When playing as Dick, You do what an undercover cop would do, go under different identities and gain trust of gangs but then eventually bust them, you gather evidence, do research, follow gang members or bosses around while staying hidden, investigating crime scenes, You can get some help with other law enforcement like the DOA especially when dealing with drugs, but you are mostly on your own. Aside from the apartment in Downtown Vice that he lives in which is separate from his wife so he doesn't put her in danger, You can visit the Vcpd and do things there too like hang out with friends, do research and increase your shooting skills in the shooting range. The stories of Dick and Alejandro are mostly completely separate but at some point Dick infiltrates Alejandro's cartel

Prologue, 1983, Columbia

You're Ricardo, a member of a cartel, in the intro cutscene you're in a meeting at a compound with armed goons and expensive vehicles parked out front. Ricardo and Juan Strickler are talking as they're waiting for the arrival of an enemy cartel (for a truce meeting). A fleet of vehicles from the soon to be allies enter the compound gates, they're greeted, shake hands and are escorted to the meeting room. Discussions about deals get heated and a shootout ensues, Ricardo and Juan's leader gets killed during the shootout.

The game cuts to gameplay and you have to follow Juan off the compound and into the jungle -like area as you're both fighting off the enemies, this leads to the edge of a cliff, cornered, they jump off, after nearly drowning they are saved by a group of three guys who are planning to go to Florida, they introduce themselves to their saviors, the captain of the small boat, 'Umberto' says we should all stick together where we're headed, time jumps to when they arrive on a beach in Fort Lloyd, Florida and the illegal immigrant patrol spots them on a stormy night.

(Columbia segment is one mission. Extremely linear)

Prologue ll, 1984, Fort Lloyd

The game then cuts to gameplay where you are given the objective to escape the police and meet up with Juan and the others later.

After running through Fort Lloyd you lose them. A cutscene plays, Ricardo leans against a wall out of breath, gasping for air (clothes tattered and soaked from the stormy boat ride)

A couple walks past Ricardo and mistakes him for a homeless man and gives him $100, Ricardo gives them a confused look, then takes it and starts limping off, he spots a neon tinted Latin cafe and wonders in, it's ran by a man named Roberto that speaks with Ricardo and questions him and if he knows English, after realizing he doesn't speak english, they speak in their native tongue, Roberto gives him food (tutorial on eating begins) and a place to stay in the back (safe house introduction) and an outfit (cafe worker outfit). One day later, Ricardo opens up about escaping a life and death situation very enigmatically and that people want him and his friend dead and we'll find them soon. Roberto believes him, after having been in a similar situation years ago. Roberto hires the protagonist and teaches him english little by little, over the course of a time jump months later.

(This segment is two missions long and linear as the city is saved for exploration later)

Prologue lll, 1985, Liberty City

Time has passed and Ricardo speaks broken English (accent similar to Scarface) and is a member of a small time Hit crew comprised of latinos and african americans in Bohan, you can roam free in this area but can't travel to any of the other boroughs besides Broker and Bohan due to bridges being blocked (Old school GTA style)

The missions here involves and teaches the player how to sell drugs and be a hitman for hire.

Ricardo has strong hatred for the Spanish Lords street gang after being robbed of product by them, this sets off a feud between Ricardo's gang (Bohan HitSquad or BSH) and The Spanish Lords, after those missions it's unsafe to roam around Bohan for long as ambushes similar to RDR2 will occur. He lays low in Broker where has a buyer for some of his coke, he meets up with them and it's his old friend Juan Strickler. They both assumed the other were caught a year ago, Juan is working for a new cartel. Ricardo tells him about what's been his situation recently and that some street clowns, The Spanish Lords stole a lot of product off of him, Juan insists on helping him handle them and Juan phones backup, they pull up to a group of 8 Spanish Lords members congregated outside of a bodega and unload fire at them killing them all, More run out of the store and from down the street as a shootout between Ricardo, Juan and three of Juan's guys vs a wave of Spanish Lords echo down the block. Juan says just like old times huh? as they nonchalantly enter the vehicle and drive off

During the ride, the tone gets serious and in the cutscene Juan asks Ricardo for a favor

"You scratch my back, I scratched yours already no?"

Juan is basically operating off of a code his organization uses, so Ricardo owes them help in return, Just tells him he has to come to Vice City and that a new life is in it for you

Ricardo says he's been in South Florida but never Vice City

Chapter l, 1985, Vice City

Protagonist, Juan and a couple of Juan's subordinates get off a plane and exit the airport, enter a Admiral and drive off to a mansion where we meet Juan's leader aka the man who runs Vice City. In this chapter your just a regular, you slowly work up the ranks

Chapter 2, 1985, Vice City

You're a respected member in this cartel, making decent money but not enough, sometime in this chapter you branch off and distance from them as you start your own operation, Juan strongly advises against this

Chapter 3, 1986, Vice City

Business is booming, Ricardo's face is known throughout the streets, the cartel he recently

Distanced himself from, The Rodriguez Cartel are displeased with the subtle disrespect and lack of 'praise' from Ricardo, this causes tension between the protagonist and his long time friend Juan

Chapter 4, 1987, Vice City

The Rodriguez Cartel leader is assassinated and everyone assumes Ricardo has something to do with it, Juan assumes position as the new head in charge and eases the tension between his and the protagonists (Ricardo) faction.

They do deals and are allies, everything until one day Juan calls us up and informs us on an out of country relative to the former leader of Rodriguez Cartel is coming in to take the reigns back from Juan, this part of the game introduces a couple more cartels to Vice City as one gets phased out

(I'm going to skip chapter 5 and end it in chapter 6)

Chapter 6, 1989

Juan sells out the protagonist and gets him killed to take over the city, basically a bad ending of the original Vice City. It turns out that Juan killed the leader of The Rodriguez Cartel to gain power, he was also the one that spread the rumor of Ricardo putting a hit on the leader. Protagonist dies of Gunshot wounds in his Vice City mansion Scarface style. House burns down as Juan walks out  (camera panning out looking down at the mansion)

Cartel kingpin Lando Frerenza is at the top... Until he's not.. a betrayal from within sends him to the silver pen.. for years he's baffled and confused at the sudden turn of events. left to nothing but his own thoughts.. his stint is long enough for him die without ever seeing the daylight again.. so he executes a daring and bold escape.. set in the 80s Vice city..the story follows the criminal exploits of lando.. an extremely intelligent, ruthless former drug lord turned prisoner, turned fugitive turned low level pusher as he attempts to rebuild his empire from the ground up and evade the ever growing bounty on his head.. he must get contacts.. make friends.. lie, cheat, steal and kill to make his way back up to the top.. he'll do whatever it takes to reclaim what was once his.. the only thing that motivates Lando is his lust for power and control.. and may god have mercy on your soul if you get in his way .. it's a riches to rags back to even bigger riches story..

Now this is the type of story I would enjoy! I actually had a similar concept in mind. I guess like minds think alike.

Here's what I'm hoping for and imagining in my head given the various alleged leaks.

Tonally, more aligned with GTA IV. But differs depending on where we are in terms of the city. LC will have be more IV in tone, VC more V in tone and any South American islands more RDR2/MP3 in tone.

We start off in the streets of Liberty City in a closed off prologue chapter. Current day. We are right into the action as a convoy of FIB SUV's speed over the Broker Bridge. A female FIB agent sits in the back seat, we hear over the radio of a cartel hit that has taken place in Dillon Street, Shottler. As the convoy arrives, we see mass brutality on the street which has been completely cordoned off. There's carnage everywhere.

This is where we take control of FIB agent Angel as she gets out of the SUV. As she gets out she holsters a high powered pistol and persues to quickly examine the scene. It reveals they are all Jamaican in ethnicity, this is clearly Yardies turf. She approaches a suspect open door.

She and her team approach the apartment building in what will play out to be a mission similar to 'Clean House' in the newest single player Modern Warfare. A shootout occurs over several dark floors of the apartment. We can't really see who we are killing as we progress through. Eventually, we reach apartment 1006. A burst of light pierces through damaged shutters in the window, silhouetted is a Jamaican man in his late 30's, who is mourning an allie. It's Jacob Hughes. The man lying in a pool of blood is Real Badman. Jacob surrenders.

He is escorted out of the building in handcuffs. We cut to an FIB interrogation room in which Jacob is being questioned by Angel about the occurrences on Dillon Street. With nothing left, he tells her that it was the accumilation of a fued that he and Badman had with the Serrano cartel over the past ten years in Vice City.

Cut to an opening montage. It starts with a low swooping shot of water you'd expect in a Bad Boys movie. It's Vice City.

/

I have more of a story mapped in my head, can write it if anyone is interested, don't have the time to write it all right now. But it will effectively be a play in which we establish the Serrano cartel with a male protagonist over the 80's and early 90's, starting on a South American island and moving up to the Vice City kingpin. All whilst switching between a current day setting and exploring the cartels effect in current day with the female FIB agent. Choices made and people you kill with the cartel, will affect the narrative and cutscenes in the present day. Angel will work to bring the cartel down, whilst we simultaneously build it up in time jump chapters. I think this would create a really interesting dynamic. She is successful and it will all culminate in a current day gang/fed war. The player will ultimately choose which side to take at the end. This choice will deeply affect the outcomes and arcs of characters you fall in love with throughout the game, which would be showcased in a 4-5 hour sobering epilogue.
