Would you want a remake of GTA San Andreas (like Resident Evil 2 or or Mafia 1)?

A remake would be pretty interesting but overall it would require too much effort (basically on the level of a new game). And I wouldn't want new voice actors (that seems common in remakes).

 

SA is also so huge, remaking all the cities to HD era level of detail would be crazy

Actually, if this was done on a Mafia engine this would be something I would be interested in. Maybe with some tweaking to the god awful car physics, but nonetheless.

 

If Take 2 managed to pull off Mafia 3 world I'm sure they can pull off SA2, which is comparable in size. They'd just need to market it as a new game to get their money back.

 

But yeah, new actors would suck. I'd prefer a very similar story, but maybe not an exact rip off?

The game deserves it being the greatest game of all time for 95% of the gamers

I don't trust rockstar in lore friendly remakes that keep the feeling of the game since all the old people are gone and they're money suckers

I personally have never been a fan of remakes, the remakes really lose the original games atmosphere and feel.

the clunky gameplay/physics also is what made the games so good.

 

also the fact that majority of the original team from Rockstar have gone its possible the games will turn out trash.

I would like a remake that notably expands the original story and makes Ryder fight besides CJ during the whole game but given Rockstar's greed and all the changes in the staff it will remain a dream.

I know that the XBOX360/PS3 version wasn't a remake, but if it would be something like that I would rather stick to the original PS2 graphics.

Think of just the work modders have done leveling it up to an HD world, think of how much better it looks when you switch out the cars for better ones?

 

I would want an exact remake, upgraded graphics, as much of the same audio as possible, and where not the original voice actors. They would have to sell it as a new game, but as long as they didn't try to online in at f*ck it up with a pro griever system, I think it would sell. I'd buy it.

I'd absolutely buy that. GTASA is one of my favorites in the series, and I'd love to see it get an update like that. Updating the map in a way that it feels familiar but also fresh and new, while keeping most of the missions the same, and possibly adding even more content to do, would be great.

I honestly think the main thing SA needs is mission creation and sharing tools. I'd love to see some story arcs given a few more missions to complete the story but changing anything else would have drastic consequences. Too many missions and the story could lose pace, too much map and there would be even more deadspace and potential time wasting while driving, put it on the RDR2 engine and suddenly running is too slow.

 

The best remaster would simply expand the arcs to be as detailed as the first and offer players the ability to add in more if they'd like.

but a remake? No point. A GTA VI and a GTA VII would sound a lot more interesting.

If that were the case, then it would be a bit of a mess. Young Maylay definitely wouldn't return as we know. There would be tons of problems with copyright issues. However, I would really like to see SA on the RAGE engine.

That surprises me. After that time he started ranting about R*,I doubted the fact he would like to cooperate with them again. He gave me the impression that he would continue to hold a grudge.

The whole thing was pretty dumb to be honest but I think his main problems were with GTA 5 toxic community and the new greedy Rocktsar employers

I think the fact that some braindead fans quoting dead memes and lines from the game should be also considered. I wouldn't blame him for having that sudden reaction after years of having been quoted for something he did 17 years ago.
