Hideouts Cleared daily, getting only Moonshiner missions that don't count. Another bug?

I even tried the hideouts that appear at specific times like Twin Peaks and Cholla Springs.  But I just get Moonshiner outfits.

It is kind of annoying because today it looked like the vanilla dailies were all doable for once.  Is there a trick to this?

Knowing R* they nerf things on challenge days. I have noticed things get more difficult to find when needed for challenges. What you could try is clearing the moonshiner things and see what spawns next.

Yeah, but I don't remember ever getting a vanilla hideout ever since I got Moonshiner.  I have a suspicion that they messed up and converted them all.

Even Fort Mercer - that is supposed to spawn the hideout at 1:00 - just failed to do so.  Instead I got a Moonshiner operation very close to it.

There are regular hideouts, but they are rare in full lobbies. Most of the random events I've seen since they increased lobby size have been moonshiner things. The rest of the stuff is rare. All you can do is what I suggest. Clear the moonshine camp and see if that gets a regular camp to spawn.

I stopped trying to do those enemy camp dailies when they increased lobby sizes. There are a few others I stopped doing since it was pointless. The time spent trying to find one wasn't worth it since you could get a lot more gold and XP doing other things in that time.

I never try to get all the dailies done either. In the time it takes to do it, again, you could get more total gold and XP doing something like bounties in a much shorter period of time, unless they have really jacked up the gold and XP payout for doing the 7/7 thing since last time I looked.

You can try find a new session near hideout during the right time.  It rarely works but sometimes it does.  If this is your last daily, best to just play normally doing whatever it is you do and hope it randomly spawns.  There is no real trick as its random.  I think doing stranger missions seems to produce a lot of random events on the way.  It could jusr be a placebo effect though.

In the end I only encountered ONE enemy hideout all day, even on single player lobby.

I think we can considered that daily challenge nearly pointless.

You do know about this map, right?

https://jeanropke.github.io/RDOMap/

Just go into the menu (> on the top left) and select the things you want displayed, then you can go from one to the other hoping they'll pop.

Notice some have a white highlight behind them, I think that means they are on an active cycle, so maybe check them first.

It always takes some time, so don't give up.

I went looking for one yesterday as my awards were at 99 hideouts and I wanted to roll it over, but couldn't find one after a half hour and quit.

That is correct sir.

Our trick is to have the posse fan out and cover different regions, making a circuit of all known hideout locations in an area, then calling in the rest of us once somebody finds one.

I did use that map, played a lot throughout the IRL day and did most of my hunting near those locations.  I even tried it wIth a solo lobby.

As I said the result was finding A LOT of moonshiner events at those locations and only a single normal hideout.

That is why I concluded that the game must be replacing hideouts with moonshiner hideouts or roadblocks once you purchase the moonshiner rope.  It is quite profitable, but it completely ruins that daily challenge.

@Courtney, great idea but it assumes you have a posse.  unfortunately most of the people I know already mostly bailed from RDO to other games and random posses tend to ne too stupid.  So I play solo 99% of the time.

My posse mates refuse to come back. The few times I have gone on in the past few months I just couldn't get into it and left pretty quick.

Most of the other games I play, although most of them are not open world, receive frequent, quality updates and have various ways you can play so you don't get bored. The best example of this is Civ 6. I've been playing Civilization since the very first version and I have never gotten bored with it. It's been out for almost 30 years, and still not bored. I was bored with RDO after 30 weeks. Just shows the difference between developers with imagination who actually listen to the players and developers like R*.

In RDO there is no difference between players because of the deathly slow pace of content drops. Everyone maxes out all the roles, etc. What choice do they have if they want to continue playing? You get tired of doing the same things ad nauseam, especially long time players who have done everything hundreds of times. Is it any wonder so many have left the game?

They don't spawn at a CERTAIN time, they have a RANGE they can spawn in

https://jeanropke.github.io/RDOMap/

You want that regular Jeanropke map open, like a tablet or something by you (if on the Xbox whatever, or just on a web page if on the PC I guess.)

See the white highlighted (around the edge of the red icon) "hideout" ones? Those are the ones that CAN be up now:

Rattlesnake Hollow (18:00-6:00, when mouse over/mouse click the icon)

That means Rattlesnake Hollow may spawn in GAME TIME from 6 PM- 6 AM.

So note that they don't spawn at a certain time, but can spawn in a TWELVE HOUR

"game time" range. Notice I'm also saying "CAN", I don't think it is for certain that they

WILL spawn for sure.

This is why it is difficult sometimes, to get them. The other day I got lucky, going from

Soloman's folly (by Benedict point) after checking it, on my way to Sea of Coranado way in the southwest corner.

Soloman's was not up, but then on my way to Sea I saw the red area of Soloman's spawning behind me  ;)

Then Sea was up when I got down there, so that was the fastest two Hideouts I've had.

That was AFTER I originally gave up, playing at my usual time Sunday morning; then I got BACK in after

sleeping and had those two spawn (mon-fri i work overnight, so try to do the same schedule on the Weekend.)

The only difference a solo lobby would make is if people were actively camping them and beating you to them;

I never even saw another player around hardly at all, let alone near any of the possible hideout spawns.

Finding things to do in the area, would probably help (such as herbing/whatever.)

One good strategy is to get between two that alternate times, such as Rattlesnake Hollow OR Twin Rocks being up.

They are also close enough that you'll notice either one go active.

Rattlesnake 18:00-6:00, while Twin is 6:00 - 18:00 = Perfect!

I never find enough to do there, though, but I suppose one could try to get as many snakeskins

as possible and/or some animal fat from peccaries or perhaps even get jumped by a cougar?  ;)

I need to add that if you clear the Moonshiner Hideout that is in place of a Gang Hideout, you will then be able have more chance to spawn the Gang Hideout as once you complete the Moonshiner Hideout you won’t get another for 25-20 minutes, so you can simply reload the session and hope that the Gang Hideout spawn is place.

The game will spawn Moonshiner Hideouts first as less resources to load in, and make sure you’re not right next to the Hideout as the game won’t spawn anything in your field of view for Gang Hideouts so usually I ride in away from the Gang Hideout and do some collecting or hunting and usually a Gang Hideout has spawn in by then

I don't wasting my time bothering to go from spawn location to spawn location any more and just leave it to luck if I bump into them (because there are far easier and quicker ways of making gold anyway). But back when I did obsess about doing dailies what I usually did was find a high location and then pan around looking for smoke from a camp fire.

If it spawns something dumb like a moonshine still at a hideout location, I usually trigger the event and then leave so it fails (posse abandoned the job). It will sometimes spawn a different event at that location immediately.
