GTA6 health and stamina system..

How do you all think GTA6 should handle its health/stamina system?

Should it be similar to RDR2 core and ring system? I do like this system but feel some tweaks would improve it.

I think food and water should be used to heal but only your ring. Whereas medical supplies should actually fill your cores.

Drug stores could be new enterable places where you can buy things like paracetamol etc.. similar to how you go into a shop and buy food in RDR2

There may be better alternatives so what are your ideas?

Eh I think they should keep it simple - eat food, get medic kit to replenish health.

I don't like the idea of it being too much like a life-simulator, or ala Metal Gear Solid 3 - antiseptic, bandages, splints etc.

Keep it simple, keep it fun. I don't want to have to worry about drinking water. Food is fair enough though.

When I saw the RDR2 system my first thought was "I hope they don't include any of this crap in GTA6..." LOL

I hope they bring back some of the more RPG elements of SA back, like you can get really fat or really skinny by eating too little or too much. And IIRC getting too fat would actually impact your stamina, and you could even have a heart attack. I’d like that to return. They could expand on the hunger system, like being hungry gives you less stamina and you take more damage. The health system doesn’t have to be extremely deep.

Having to eat and manage your weight isn't fun, though. Like, I used cheats in san andreas specifically to avoid that stuff. Any added immersion isn't worth the additional hassle.

It could be the same in GTA VI. You don't want to eat, use cheat codes (RDR II have such if you don't want to fill your cores in more believable and realistic way). Don't ask for shallow game design just because you may not like something, we already got this in GTA V.

The health system is one of the few things from GTA IV i'd like to see them bring back for the next game. No regeneration and lots of places darted around the map to grab some quick food to heal up.

The need to eat in order to keep your health up or maintain a specific body type has never really fit in Rockstar's games. It mostly just feels inconsistent with the rest of the gameplay and ends up breaking my immersion more than adding to it.

RDR2's core was an innovative feature, but for me it's not fit a GTA game where you can focus on going/shooting around without bothering your condition.

Just use food/drink to replenish health and stamina, maybe a painkiller as well if you want to get more health. Then, you can keep up snacks like in Online for maintenance, but you can't eat/drink when your health is full.

I don't want to have to use cheat codes just not to have to eat. I want to use cheat codes to summon tanks and planes and become immortal so I can skydive without a parachute.

It's not shallow to not have to eat during a game, it's just cutting out real life tedium to make the game more enjoyable.

With Stamina I just want more sweat.

I'd like things to be simple. The complex system from San Andreas was a drag (especially when you were far from a food outlet and lost muscle mass at an accelerated rate).

Pain level like Max Payne

Like wise_man said, the core sytem was cool, but I don't think it would work so well for GTA.

For me I say keep things mainly the same except go more into depth with stamina management. I say have stamina tied to running, combat rolling and maybe even hand to hand combat.

I'd say maybe even go a step further and tie it into actions such as carjacking. Small things like breaking into a car when fatigued would lead to a slightly slower animation.

To counter certain actions now being stamina tied, have items such as sprunk, certain snacks and drugs give stamina bonuses of various levels.

Made a hud with a blue stamina bar at the bottom.

Screen 2

I wouldn't mind having something like Max Payne in the sense you could carry a medkit/bandages or something along those lines to heal yourself in battle (like in cover) or something similar to the GTA Online snack system but better. Cores become annoying to maintain at some points

GTA Online also, you can heal while in cover with snacks, although the system is clunky af, as you have it is a whole damn process, you have to hold to open the interaction menu > select inventory > go to "snacks" and then see yourself tapping one snack slot multiple times as one single candy wouldn't refill your bar completely. Hope they add this feature to single player in GTA VI, but mix it with RDR2 where you can quickly go to the inventory via weapon wheel. This would make restaurants and grocery stores much more useful.
