Can we turn off the snow already?

It isn't so much that nobody has the coats, many of the players have more than enough coats to make numerous winter outfits. It was the fact that the temperatures would change so quickly that we would take weather damage from either being too hot or too cold. So to curb that some resorted to using the hardy tonics instead of having to worry about what outfit they were in when the weather would bug out.

They could have just gone 100 feet down the road and the temp would be fine. 🙂

😂 Right!

But don't go too far, or else you might hit a blizzard in 77 degree weather.

Damn. It was fun but had to end eventually. It would be nice if we got random (brief) snowstorms at other times of the year.

I liked the few days with snow but sunshine.  I hate the depressing fog.  Sadly those "rocket scientists" at R* seem to have decided to keep the depressing fog even without the snow.

Also, the main problem with this mode is that it breaks vision too much.  Hunting becomes an annoying chore instead of the usual fun.

Praise be!!! For those still wanting a little snow, the northwest area always has it, right?

Time to go to Rio Bravo and start a long awaited long distance delivery.

Still snowing for me ffs.

I think that is good news for me.  I have an account sitting AFK at the post office in Blackwater in an invite only lobby hoping I keep the snow for a bit.

Have you completely shutdown and restarted?

Snow on the ground but it never snows. It just rains.

! ! ! ! I go up there so infrequently I never realized that!

There isn't a lot to do up there.  I fast traveled to Colter Yesterday when I realized I don't think I had ever been there when snow storms/showers were in the game.  I wish there was more up there than just Sadie and Flacco.  It would be nice if Colter was a small functioning village or town.  On a side note, EVERY time I Fast travel there, I get that PIA legendary fox to spawn.

If you ever need a train fast travel to MacFarlane.

I HATE snow IRL.

I know many have said it...  But changing seasons would be incredible in this game.  Could you imagine how incredible fall would look in Roanoke and Brandywine drop areas?

When the servers are low there are enemy camps and moonshine camps up there in Colter and that other abandoned camp between Colter and Little Creek, the place where Dutch and the gang took out a lot of O'Driscolls in Chap 1, as well as saving Sadie's sister. Also enemy camp and moonshine camp in that mine where the building with dynamite is just below the big tower where Micah was hiding out in the epilogue.

I did get a free roam bounty while I was up there yesterday too.  It was 4 guys in a little shack tucked in some mountains.  Of course it spawned on the account that I do not own the bounty wagon on, so I killed them all, threw one on the horse and dragged another all the way to the prison wagon near the abadoned mining camp, rode ALL the way back grabbed the last two the same way but I didn't make it back in time.  I could see the prison wagon when time expired.

I could tell they really toned down the snowfall this year compared to last year. This year I didn't get one heavy blizzard, and no thick snow on the ground. Last year there were lots of heavy blizzards. Another thing, the temperature fluctuation was crazy this year, going from below freezing, then up to like 52 degrees, then freezing again, all in the same vicinity. I'm glad not to have to wear that winter coat too.

My and my posse had one up in the snow once but the path to get to the prison wagon was too narrow for the wagon. Over the side the wagon fell.

Now that you are saying that, I don't think I would have been able to do it with a wagon either for the same reason.

Didn't find hunting that bad (except for small animals, especially squirrels!) , but sure made finding herbs harder...

I'm glad its over, though I wish they left the Xmas tree/moonshiner decorations up for a bit after the snow was off.

It would be better if only areas that would have "winter" got that way; having it also in New Austin/the desert was lame.

I suppose they do that because otherwise everyone would try to have camps in the desert?

That is what I was thinking of when I wrote it.    Hunting large animals in areas with no cover like plains, steppes, the desert or alligators were no problem.  So we could cope but it broke immersion and led to hokie behaviors.

To be more specific the broken mechanics make harder to hunt:  (1) Small animals, (2) Anything that relied on Eagle Eye to see them (like hunting in forested areas), (3) Hunting in the persistent, unrealistic and extremely annoying fog/blizzard (my guess is that the fog/blizzard is a new - horrible - gimmick to reduce visibility and thus reduce the need to render animals and plants beyond a short range).

And as you said, thank God it is gone.  Unfortunately I noticed that some of the fog remains, not always but often enough to be annoying.

Still snowing for me.  On for like 3 or 4 in game days, then sunny and clear for two.  Christmas music everywhere and tree still up.

Call me scrooge-  I'm absolutely sick of it.   It's especially frustrating that after the inevitable session kick (due to a fault with rockstar) all my outfits get deleted.  So I'll go back in with my hot weather outfit and it will be snowing.  Or vice versa-  Durrrt.

Also hunting/ bounty hunting/ moonshining has been put on hold at least for me.  I prefer to be able to see.  Screw this never ending haze.  It was cool for a week, but dam. So, grinding collector till it stops.

If you really want to get rid of it then restart your game.

Well Bah Humbug to you too! 😄

I agree though, it got old having to constantly change my outfits after traveling a few feet down the road.

To be fair, the game is located in the USA. Christmas is in winter.

BTW - I hate the snow.

In the United States, there is often—but not always—snow on the ground at Christmas in the northern states, except in the Pacific Northwest?
