Can we turn off the snow already?

The more I think about it, it may have been late February/early March before the shine business worked, or at least they made it so you didn't lose you shine batch when the black screen happened, because it still happens even in solo sessions now.

I didn't do another shine sale until well after they had fixed the Poison Poppy's recipe glitch, I wanted to be sure the batch didn't disappear.

It wasn't the waste of money, after all it was only $50 (not to mention that doing the bootlegger missions usually didn't reduce the mash cost either), but the waste of time coupled with the horrible state of everything else was just too much.

it was even hard to get 9/9 role dailies because so many things either just didn't work, froze or crashed the game, or didn't register for the dailies.

The game was a complete embarassment.

I know there are times when a daily is pick 5 of some herb and I end off having to pick 7 or 8 for 5 to register. Visit Colter for a daily, doesn't register. Several other glitches. I don't know how many they've fixed since then. Maybe if I send them some money they'll fix them just for me. 🙂

No, I'm sure we're still leeches in their eyes.  🙄

I don't think they can separate the map into weather zones.

The same weather affects everywhere at once.

Localized storms would be nice, no rain in the north, no snow in the south, and maybe even seasons lasting weeks in real time, but I really don't think it's possible.

this snow is really irritating. why is it in red dead but not in gta? its so unfair. i want to play red dead snow free.

It'll be gone in a week or so. Last year it was 2 weeks but not consecutive.

It's barely there at all, every time I play. They might as well turn it off. I've yet to experience a blizzard this year, not at all as fun as last year. Very disappointing...as usual Rockstar can't get sh*t right.

I do like the snow itself, but it's making the screen glitch like crazy, making me dizzy and i just got the naturalist role, which i can't progress in, because the game is barely spawning any animals to hunt or take blood from, especially the legendry ones and besides that, it is also causing bugs in shootouts like my off-hand weapon refusing to reload, unless i equip it seperately.

I absolutely love the snow its great. i have spent so much time up in the grizzlies immersed in its visuals and aura hunting game and skins. made a fortune in skins.. Its a shame they can not isolate just the grizllies and leave the new mexico type area dry from both rain and snow. . The rest of the year when it rains on snow it breaks the immersion

Why would rain break immersion? Happens every day somewhere. Personally, if it was sunny and beautiful all the time that would be immersion breaking.

It doesnt rain i would think in areas with high snow and frozen temperatures or rain that much in the desert. i spent 3 years in Bahrain never rained once

I have been through the deserts of the SW USA many times when severe storms broke out causing flash floods.

In the USA, there is not snow on the mountains 365 days/year except on the highest peaks or Alaska. They can have snow in the summer but it's not there every day since temps do go above 32. The map used in RDR is supposed to be the USA apparently so I guess they don't look at what goes on in deserts like the Sahara.

In this game the weather effects all areas because they can't separate regions for weather purposes. I'm sure if they could the weather patterns would vary depending on where you were.

The snow was cool to see during the days leading up to Christmas but now it’s becoming annoying because it fogs up the screen which makes everything hard to see at times and it breaks immersion. There’s no reason for it to be snowing that much in hot climate areas such as New Austin and Lemoyne.

Hm. I was on yesterday and saw nothing but sun out west. I still don't know what weather has to do with immersion though. There's a lot of things with RDO that are immersion breakers but weather is the least of them. The snow will probably be gone next Tuesday anyway.

I am just going to complain about the fact that it is 77 degrees and there was not only snowflakes falling but snow setting on the ground. It's bothersome because I am tired of constantly changing my outfits to fit the sudden change in weather, it's already bad enough when it has to rain.

I'm originally from Nebraska, So I am used to having had days that go from 60 degrees to 20 degrees with the addition of 3ft of snow, but this is just ridiculous.

I've been in the bayou, said the temp was 65. Gone 100 yards the temp is now 28. Go another 100 yards, temp is 70. 😂

In my last game I was standing by Harriet's tent and it was 32 degrees, so I'm in my heavy winter coat. I ride onto the road, get near the intersection by the bridge just down the road from her and I get the notification that I'm taking weather damage. Check the weather and it was 76 degrees. So I changed into my hot outfit, get to Pleasance and once again can see my character's breath and he's acting like he's freezing in the saddle. Temp was 30 degrees and it started to snow again.

Basically most of my time was me looking to see how hot or cold it was so I could change my outfit again. 😆

I've used more hardy tonics in the past week dealing with all these temperature fluctuations than I have in all the rest of the time they've been in the game. My guess is that tomorrow'll be our last day of snow and they'll turn it off with the Tuesday update but you never know with R* these days...

Today should be the last day of it.  A little disappointed overall that they didn't do it like they did last year.  Where was the big storm, this year?  Still a nice touch, wish it would stay around in some areas.

Made acc just because of this. Im a new player to RDO and I have NO idea where snow can or cannot be...literal bs for new players. Snow in a desert what a great idea XD

Even Vegas has snow now and then. Deserts can get real cold after sundown.

I like how the snow is now. We still get sunny days and snow later on in the evening.

This way it will snow in the snowy areas of the map.

The fog is annoying.

Yup. I have a lot more problem with the fog in this game than the snow, especially since the snow is only for a few weeks.

So, glad it lasted until January 4th.  The snow is great.  I wish it would snow do it all winter.  This past week has been intermittent which I actually prefer less.  I prefer the blizzard that happened on the days of Christmas Eve and Christmas.  Its threads like this that actually pull back towards defending R* despite all their greed and not fixing their game.  I mean no one and I mean no one who plays this game with any kind of consistency was mad to see the snow.  Why?  You turn on eagle and and can see everything anyway.  Its what you do in fog which is far more annoying than the awesome snow.  This thread should have been merged into the bitch and moan thread immediately or locked.

To be fair, the game is located in the USA. Christmas is in winter.

BTW - I hate the snow.

I love the fact the snow has persisted since Dec 22nd! Makes RDO feel like we’re in a winter season, not just a couple of days. Additionally, I like that we can see our cold breaths and the entire map is actually cold forcing us to bundle-up in winter attire.

My favorite situation was the blizzard white-out conditions during Festive Showdown series week 1.

I for one will be sad to see the snow gone come tomorrow.

I doubt we are getting anything new until the outlaw pass ends in March.. so enjoy it. Nothing about this game is hard. If you can't hunt in the snow then you obviously need the practice. Plus it makes the game more realistic. I'd keep it for a month or two if I could. Too bad they don't offer an option to choose a lobby with or without it.

For those of you mentioning hardy tonics.... what coat did you buy with your free ticket? It's not hard to be warm.

I never used one, not sure I have any? But I did notice a bit of a temp bug depending on the lobby.  I see other people have mentioned it too.  You could be in one spot and it's 32 degrees and move 10ft and it would 60 degrees. Other then that occasional bug, I didn't have too bad of a problem, but when I did I was too warm, never too cold.

In real life, I do hate the snow.

It's not bad in game, as long as we have places that we can run to so we can get away from it.

It isn't so much that nobody has the coats, many of the players have more than enough coats to make numerous winter outfits. It was the fact that the temperatures would change so quickly that we would take weather damage from either being too hot or too cold. So to curb that some resorted to using the hardy tonics instead of having to worry about what outfit they were in when the weather would bug out.
