Can we turn off the snow already?

Ok, we get it, Christmas time, snow all over RDO, pretty cool from a programming standpoint that you can do it.  - Can we turn it off now?

There's already a snow thread...but hey, we only get this for a brief time, why not just enjoy it? Sure it's more challenging, but so what? this game is easy anyway. I just love it.

It isn't so much the snow, it is the lack of sunshine.... the constant fog is depressing (besides getting in the way of gameplay).

The game is just gray (to me) now and I really hate it. To go from the colorful spectacle I enjoyed to this is rather depressing, at least to me. I totally understand why some people are snowbirds in real life.

Imagine there are people IRL who live with this stuff for months on end. When I drove a truck I spent most of my winter driving around up north and in the NW dealing with this dreariness all the while. I can deal with it for a week or two. Be thankful all the leaves haven't dropped off the trees which is even more gloomy. It is old always having the same weather all the time. If it's that bad find something else to do and come back Tuesday. But if it's like last year, there will be a 2nd week of this after New Year.

IRL I love the snow, so long as the sun is out.  I positively hate the gloomy gray skies and washed out colors of everything.

I think it would be the same in game.  Snow and sun with only an occasional blizzard, plus some fixes so that you can see small animals and Eagle Eye trails easily... would make the Christmas event enjoyable instead of dreary.

They might as well leave it on until Tuesday the 4th.  2 weeks out of the year it snows in game...even if you don't like it, its really not worth making a thread about you how don't like it.

Be glad you don't live in Seattle. They have way more cloudy days per year than sunny ones, something like 62% of the days cloudy annually. The NE is pretty dreary all winter. I hated going up there in winter. It's not so bad when I'm sitting at home playing a game that's snowy.

cmon we only have this white beauty one time in the year, horses are not like GTA cars, and we don't have any aircraft so no need to worry about crashing , enjoy, after this we go back to the long hiatus after a new update whit the same sunny sky

Mist makes the game really hard to see normally but add to it snow and the game is just a gray/white screen. I absolutely hate it.

Add to that when the weather is bad I have literally had full on whiteouts where I can see nothing at all. When the game is almost entirely visual it is stupid to have this.

As a Canadian who lives through the snow 5 months a year, I can sincerely say f* snow. You southerners don't know how good you have it. De-snowing the car every morning, leaving early to get to work on-time. People driving half their usual speed over a centimeter of snow on the road when its not even risky. Then on the flip side driving on ice and sliding around, wheels spinning at every stop sign, risking accidents when its a blizzard out but you still gotta go to work. Why couldn't I have been born in the southwestern US 🤣?

Of course there are some positives, like snowball fights, all the winter activities like sledding and skating; and things like snow-taffy (tire de neige in QC, its literally maple syrup hardened / partially frozen by sitting on a bed of snow).

All of that being said, I LOVE snow in games, since there is none of the irl inconveniences attached to it. At least in red dead it leaves immediately after the holidays, we're not stuck with it until late April.

The snow makes things a bit more difficult for a while. That's actually a good thing IMO.

There are other things one can do other than play RDRO during the snow and there sure are many more serious issues with the game to be upset about.

It isn't the snow so much as how they should have tracking trails/herb highlights when eagle eye show up as some other color than WHITE.

Make them purple or something, during the snow event thing.

This is essentially what i have found myself doing. I log in for the daily, but don't actually play, just waiting for the snow to be gone.

To each their own, of course, but I tend to agree with you.

I'm, ummm, let's just say, helping someone level up a character and they aren't bothered by it at all...so I've spent more time playing than I had planned.

I’m from Canada, it’s cold and snow covered here right now. So what? I don’t get the argument of “I live in snow, so I can’t stand snow in game’ LOL.

The snow is a nice change. It’s gonna go back to a constant summer time for the next year. It’s 2 weeks of snow out of an entire year. It’s harmless, it’s NOT permanent, and it will be over before you know it.

Yea one day of the cruddy annual winter weather effects is all i don't want.
Overall the x-mas weather effects in RDO is just horrible and gloomy.
I log in just to do 2 dailies to keep my streak and then i am gone.

Not sure you noticed but the game is horrible with or without snow.

I did basic at Fort Lewis--hated most of the time there as did some of the guys that went AWOL.

Hell no.

I love the snow in this game.. If it were up to me we'd have snow all the way through February. And I live in an area where I deal with snow all winter long in real life too, so quit complaining.

As a matter of fact I wish there were more snowy areas in this game generally. We've got all these animal fur garment sets and cool outfits that can only be worn in the cold... and we hardly ever get to wear em.

I don't mind the snow and low temperatures but I will admit the general grey gloom is getting to me a bit. It's not like there aren't any bright, sunny days in winter. Ah well, on the whole I still like the bit of variety.

Depends on where you live. Some places are gloomy just about every day for a few months in winter. I wonder how the suicide rate isn't higher in those places. But a week of gloom definitely is not rare IRL.

I feel the same way about snow in game as I do in real life. Excited when it gets here, but after a week or two I get tired of it.

It also annoys me to no end seeing snow covering my bed and everything on the INSIDE of my tent.

The top of the stew in what is supposed to be a hot pot is also covered in snow.
