Also, I used the marksman weapon load-out and tried at night. Not sure if it was a good choice.

i started out with the crack shot loadout sniper rifle is ok but i found the AP pistol was shooting extra shots setting alarm off then i switched to marksman loadout i like it better

try all the different loadouts you'll find a favourite

Aggressor loadout is one of the best with the assault shotgun. Can kill all enemies with two to three body shots, ideal for when there are two guards next to each other and you've pop the first one in the head. Also has a good range. It depends on your approach. If you're just going into the compound and swimming off again this is probably the best.

I think it depends on whether you own those weapons with a suppressor already... probably a programming oversight. As my personal weapons I have the Military Rifle, Assault Shotgun, and Sniper Rifle all with a suppressor and when I use these in the heist I never have to buy or equip the suppressor in the heist screen; they already come attached to the weapon in the heist.

Do you set heist at night?

I find the heist easier at day time, I used to do it at night and got spotted all the time by guards I couldn't see. At daytime, I see the guards before they spot me.

And I buy suppressors just to be sure, it's only 5k, while the take is 1.2-1.6 million.

I've seen no benefit from doing the heists at night. If anything it's a hindrance as it increases the likelihood of smashing into a bush or tree when escaping.

So I recorded an example of what I consider the easiest way to do this heist.

I did Longfin entry at Main Dock, but North Dock or Velum entry at airfield work as well, depending on the locations* of guard clothing. (You have to be very unlucky to not find one at any of these locations.) Ideally, you also find good secondary loot and a grappling hook at your entry location as well, but it doesn't really matter, because in disguise you can roam the island freely. I had a rainstorm during this run, but it doesn't matter either.

You can use the supply truck instead of the grappling hook and enter through the main gate instead of climbing a wall. But there is only one supply truck compared to four possible grappling hook locations, and with a 20% chance the truck is driving around the island.

Not all secondary loot locations are as quiet as this one with no guards bothering you. The other easy ones are the hangar, the shed at the North Dock that opens to the North, the single shed in the fields to the East, and paintings in Rubio's office. For all other loot locations AFAIK you need to kill guards, or make sure they can't see you grabbing the loot -- even through walls.

Anyway, this is spliced into <60-second clips for upload to imgur:

Longfin approach at Main Dock, I have to kill one guard standing by the disguises, then I go to the loot. (I didn't record the actual looting.)
I grab a Winky and drive to pick up a grappling hook. (Manchez is faster but they don't spawn close to the Main Dock. Also this grappling hook location is quite the detour but I didn't find a closer one.)
More driving and I enter the compound by climbing the Northern wall.
I run/parkour up to the office without killing any guard. You can kill the red ones if it makes you more comfortable. All the other guards won't bother you when disguised. (Again I didn't record the looting/hacking.)
I exit the compound, again without killing anyone.
Swim escape. Make sure the escape point is set to Main Dock, else you could be swimming for a while.
Post-heist screen (7:41 so you can take your time and still easily get elite)

Agree this is the easiest for me.

The Velum of Longfin give you a limit disguise on arrival, so if you can grab some guard clothing at the entry point, and either a grappling hook or the supply truck you can potentially access the compound without killing anyone. Providing you can negotiate the three personal body guards at the mansion it’s job done.

I mentioned that in a few posts above. Got so frustrated trying to find a way to open (and then getting caught) that I just quit the app.

Each time you do it, the locations and the secondary items change.  Gold and paintings in the compound, cocaine, weed and cash everywhere else.  I have had only one cocaine show up once.  Usually have at least two.  Currently have five gold spots and two paintings.  That's one of the best mixes I have seen in the compound.

You need either the bolt cutters (go find them) or the cutting torch (do the prep mission for it).

Aactually no.

You need the boltcutters/torch for the wiregates with the chain and locks.

What these two (@Taterman @Cutter De Blanc) are talking about are the big garagedoor looking metal gates.

These can only be opened with two players. There is a switch near the gate and one player needs to hold it down while the other player goes inside and get the loot.

What determines whether its locked up behind an iron gate or not? Was it just because it was cocaine and I'm not allowed to get the high value items solo, or is it just that one secondary location or is it random?

Secondary loot is randomized.

Paintings/Gold only found inside compound

Coke/Weed only found on island

Cash found inside compound/on island

Guess who finished the heist tonight...

This Guy!

I only made $1.266M but it was a big relief to finish it. Someone mentioned in this thread that extraction points didn't matter and to leave the island any way you could. I tried swimming underwater with rebreathers and went a really long way out, but the the screen turned red and it said I failed. I had to redo it and actually go to the Main Dock exit that I picked and flee in a boat.

Thanks to all of you that posted helpful info.

Congrats!

Don't swim too deep, you will get crushed by water pressure. If this happens, swim up immediately, and start eating snacks.

There are no bushes or trees on the ocean.

-Turn to the right after exiting the compound

- Run around to the cliff.

- Shoot out a boat driver before heading down to the water (its easier).

- The boats that spawn are not guard boats unless you've triggered the alarm and even then will only spawn if you're already at water level.

- Walk down and swim to the boat.

- Full speed away from the island and bam. Escape complete.

If you do the Sub approach using the drainage tunnel entrance with 2 people, you can stealth it with bags full of gold in less than 10 min.

I solo with elite challenge complete in under 13 min using the longfin approach and grabbing coke at either the north/main docks or runway. No guards ever spawn in the ocean unless you trigger an alarm.

Oh man! Thanks.

I wish I'd thought of that. I was so happy I made it off the island and had rebreathers and wasn't getting shot. Dayam!

I never said there are trees on the ocean. There are trees on the way to the ocean once you've grabbed a bike. Why would you run to the cliff? If you know the best place to jump off the cliff you can escape the island within 10 seconds  once you hit the water. It would take you at least double that to find a boat, shoot the driver then get in it and sail off.

I have multiple world records for Solo (console - 4:30), 3-player Elite Challenge (6:27 -  which we'll beat soon), 4-player Elite Challenge (5:47), and have completed the solo EC in 6:14 and 6:15 with different approaches. So you should probably cut the sarcasm until you get anywhere near my times, Mr 13-Minutes-Elite. Lol!

There are certain places where a stray shot or two will set an alarm off, like the red coned guard on the lower floor who walks around. It's usually best to avoid headshots here unless you've had plenty of practise and just fill his body with lead instead.  No stray shots then.

I don't think water pressure is a thing here. What will happen is once you reach the edge of the map the game will decrease your health. Once you hit zero you will respawn back on the island. This has happened to me after the game bugged out and I was swimming for TWO AND A HALF MINUTES. This was during a leaderboard-hitting Scope, Preps, Finale speedrun, which of course killed it.

Oh. Look at mr badass over here.

I don't know who you are. I've never heard of you, nor now that you have show yourself to be a shallow assclown with an ego that bruises like an over ripe banana, care to.

You mention trees. I know a way off the island that doesn't have them and was offering advice to the 99% of readers on this forum who are in the same boat of not knowing or caring who you are.

grow up.

But you gave terrible advice.

Slowing down by 5 miles an hour on a bike to make sure you avoid trees would only cost a second or two, rather than the 5 mins you think they should waste running to the edge of the cliff.

You don't need to know who I am to recognise you're not too great at the game. The 3,300,000 videos views on my YouTube are enough for others to recognise me xxx

Did you choose Main Dock as escape point in the heist screen? That *should* make it so you only have so swim a short distance. (Around the whale skeleton in my video here: https://imgur.com/1lCkNQ7)

That is the best spot to escape from on the island, but it doesn't matter which escape route you select, as I initially thought as the swimming part seemed so random.
