FrCi
Can somebody help me? I had the game with over 1500+ add-on cars (all with brand name + type + year, all had vehicle ID, and add-on preview) with no crashes. After a year i reinstalled the game but it's crashing. I can add 569 lines to dlclist.xml. If i add more it's crashing. But I've tried to change those lines all of the add-on files are working. I started to create an add-on pack (i have some) and I already added 40 cars and it still working so the problem with the dlclist.xml line's number I guess. Example: I added 5 add-on packs >> crash. I added the same 5 cars to a carpack>> wokring I've tried all of the gameconfigs on gta5-mods and I've installed Heap Limit Adjuster, Packfile Limit Adjuster, CScenarioPoint Patch. So I dunno what to do. Takes too much time to merge everything to add-on packs. I don't use GTA V Online. Thanks
LeeC22
I honestly wouldn't even know where to start with that problem. That many cars not merged into packs is going to be highly problematic these days, I am amazed you were able to add so many lines to the dlclist.xml before it crashed. Rockstar keep adding data that pushes the game to its limits, especially now that most cars come with tuning parts. Merging cars into packs is the only guaranteed way to keep the game more stable and yes... it's a hugely time-consuming process. I thought someone might have written a car addon-merge tool by now but there doesn't seem to be one. I started to write one almost 4 years ago but gave up on it. The problem is that addon car modders are so unreliable when it comes to getting the data right in their addons and in a consistent place in the pack. I suspect that is what is still putting people off writing a merge tool. I've seen single cars in an addon with all the meta data for 20+ cars in there, it doesn't make it easy. I don't know if you have asked this question on other sites but if not, I would strongly suggest you do. The GTA5 modding section on this site is pretty bad when it comes to getting answers. You might need to try and find someone who creates gameconfig files, as they will give you better advice about why so many packs cause the game to crash.
