So I concluded that I am better off ignoring those events. Am I correct? Are these events counter-productive? Or is there something that I am not taking into consideration? Just to go back to the original question for a moment. And I think it applies to just about everything in the game. Do what you enjoy and not what makes you money or gold. So something is only counter-productive if you're not enjoying it. IamCourtney, Krommer, kcole4001 and 1 other

We discovered that just dropping a bounty off right away and moving on to another right away ends off paying out more than what we get from the dead time spent standing around waiting to drop them. You figure if you spend 5 minutes waiting to drop and do that 5 times you've had 25 minutes of dead time. Can run a number of other bounties in that time. But if you're only on for a short time or don't plan on doing just bounties waiting is probably better. That's what I figure, as long as there's not much time between missions, it's more efficient and enjoyable to run them quickly. StyxTx

Early on money and gold matter a lot because you are still buying roles and things that are essential to play effectively. Later on they do not. I am roughly on the border between the two. kcole4001

Early on it's rather necessary, but when you start to feel you have a comfortable money/gold buffer, it's probably better for your enjoyment/sanity in the long run to forget about efficiency. 1 minute ago, zPhoenix said: Early on money and gold matter a lot because you are still buying roles and things that are essential to play effectively. As others have said, there's really no hurry for the most part, and currently there isn't anything 'limited time' to chase, so enjoy the trip & make the destination whatever you want, because judging by all the signs it's going to be a very long road. Enjoying it definitely matters. I've done a few things I really can't stand just to finish ranking up a role or whatever. Feels more like a job. There's been times I am like, gawd, I gotta get on and do such and such. 10 minutes ago, kcole4001 said: Early on it's rather necessary, but when you start to feel you have a comfortable money/gold buffer, it's probably better for your enjoyment/sanity in the long run to forget about efficiency. Yeah. I'm at the $ and gold point now where I do things just to do them, variety, as long as they are things I enjoy. I do miss the random things though. They were really good for variety and I loved the ambushes. Edited December 22, 2020 by StyxTx DentureDynamite, kcole4001 and netnow66
kcole4001
Some days they're welcome variety, sometimes it's like the phone ringing, interruptions eliciting much swearing. Depends on my mood. DentureDynamite, StyxTx and netnow66

Depends on my mood. When I'm collecting I actually like the no spawns because many places I had to stop and spend time clearing out enemies. On the days I'm in a collecting mood I'm not really up for action. kcole4001

There was for me. Gold-wise I was able to buy Bounty Hunter, Trader, Collector and Naturalist all on sale. And I am ready to snatch up Moonshiner (or the next pass) when it pops. I still need a little gold to feel comfortable, probably a week or two of saving it. Money-wise, there were a lot of things that make life easier. I still need some to be ready for Moonshiner and wrap up important (but not critical) purchases but again probably a week or two's worth. Even so, I am no longer feeling pressured to earn, so I don't min-max the missions clock anymore. But I still make sure to do those money-making activities that generate cash. I've found a nice mix that usually has me working on 2 or 3 different things at the same time, breaking the routine and making it overall less rushed and more enjoyable. For example, when I'm going places for the dailies I have my trader working, I am hunting a few animals en-route, and I am stopping by the collection points that happen to be near the route. It is more fun than rushing to the daily destination, and it sure is much more profitable! kcole4001
I used to do that, generally spend between 3-4 hours per day hunting, collecting, chasing particular goals I'd set. Lately I'm feeling the fact that the 1000 rank cap (at 516 today) may hit me before we see properties to buy, so I've eased off quite a lot of stuff, and collecting is so random now, I don't really make a point of gathering the rare ones I'm missing.
