Liberty City is the most diverse and detailed, but Los Santos is more open for messing around

You forgot Alderney.

Liberty City feels the most like home to me, in both universes.

And the award for most obvious answer goes to.........me.

I don’t mind Los Santos, but Liberty City has more charm, soul and feels like a real place. From Hove Beach to Star Junction. It feels like home.

Once all this COVID-19 stuff is over I still want to travel to NYC someday as playing GTA IV for so long has inspired makes me want to visit the city my favourite video game is based on.🙂

Crazy place.

Yeah, there is a lot of people and cars. And it feels like a maze, there are buildings and streets everywhere. It also smells like piss and there is garbage all over the floor lol

Don't put so much hope in it or you'll probably end up like Niko

What makes a GTA game map good is the Originality and distinction

So in this case Liberty city wins Because the HD universe version of Los Santos is just a mess it's not  bad to have too much content but it's not arranged well you don't know how to feel about the city because you don't know what route the city wants to take in San Andreas it was quite clear how to feel about each part of Los Santos industrial part, gangs part and The rich part

In GTA 5 you feel like everything is mashed up together also the map being only Los Santos made them put too much that doesn't fit Los Santos in it like the Casino for example I am not saying that Having a Casino is impossible but the Casino feels straight out of Las Venturas or maybe because we haven't seen Las Venturas in the HD Universe yet so I feel like something is off

Also, Liberty city has more interactive interiors

This is the biggest difference to me. Much of Los Santos feels too much like window dressing. I don't know how many interiors there are exactly, but it feels like Liberty City has more and generally feel more purposeful.

It's not just that, but even the simple things like newsstands, food vendors etc. I'll never understand why these became inoperable in GTA V when it makes the game world feel less interactive.

GTA 5  barely had interiors and most of them weren't even interactive

And yeah I don't understand why rockstar forgot about all of these little things like why there's no reason I can't buy Hotdogs or go inside restaurants and order food

I will never understand what's wrong with GTA 5 every time I pick up a flaw I feel like it's so dumb and could have been fixed easily on the other hand you see a lot of good things but you somehow can't enjoy them because you don't understand how did rockstar abandon some features which make you feel off like if there's something missing

In GTA V's defense it does do a couple of interactive things that weren't in GTA IV. Like when you go to the strip club you can buy drinks (though this was already included in TBOGT) and I like that you can go inside of service stations/convenience stores.

However for those things it adds it takes away much more so it doesn't really balance out as much as it could. I also agree with your point about the casino. There's an abandoned casino in GTA IV, but that's actually based on a real casino in New Jersey. It's also abandoned just like how it appears in GTA IV. I think the casino in GTA V is based on some horsetrack casino in Inglewood, but I doubt it's been "opening soon" for the last 7 years. I just think where authenticity is concerned R* nailed it a bit better with Liberty City.

I remember when people used to bitch and moan about not being able to use the amusement park on Firefly Island, but its real life counterpart (Coney Island) was also being renovated at the time so it's nice R* kept it real during development.

Yeah stuff like that makes you feel like Liberty city is a real city with real history ( i don't know if that's the word) and events

In GTA 5 they were just throwing content without arranging it a little bit and that makes the world feel kinda fake (and doesn't have a specific atmosphere) which is unlike liberty city I have never felt like there was anything fake about it except the titties

Something similar happened in LCS the whole city was a big construction site in 1998 Like if god left it unfinished or something which affects your gameplay in GTA 3 when you think that lots of places in this city didn't exist three years ago also Was Portland a no man's land or something?
