joejoesvoice 0
Hello i am sorry for posting in your group here but I am not sure who else to ask. My son has autism and is obsessed with GTA and I want to get him a desktop computer with GTA so he can do the “mods” he see’s on YouTube. He only needs the desktop computer to play GTA and to add mods is anyone willing to give me some recommendations on desktop? I don’t know the right system to get but can’t afford $1k either so any suggestions is appreciated.

He wants to play GTA 5 and wants to get Thanos & other super hero mods. I would prefer around 500. I seen some desktops on eBay for complete setup minus the game for around $300 but fear those would not work out as they may be super slow and then he will just end up frustrated
sivispacem 21,588
You won't get a system capable of playing V at workable frame rates, especially with mods, for $300. You might just scrape something at $500 though. My suggestion would be something like an older enterprise workstation or desktop then fit a dedicated GPU. A 980 or 980ti would do nicely for V for ~$150. Budget $250-300 for the workstation and $50 for a PSU. Most enterprise workstations and desktops don't use standard power supplies or connectors so you might need to buy some adapters to get it to all play ball though.
