Your TOP 5 Favorite Vehicles in the Snow [2020 Edition] (Non-Flyers)

[EDIT] My search for this found nothing. After posting, I found this outdated topic, "Best car for the snow" from 2017 by 007 DB5, which is appropriate to link here, as well. This thread is an updated version calling for player's top 5 favorites. Admins, feel free to merge, if necessary. ~ Cheers

What Are Your Top Five Favorite Vehicles in the Snow (2020 Edition😞

With all the new vehicles and the plethora of Pegasus, specialty, and Warstock vehicles, you'd think that handling the snow would be easy for many of them. However, the Caracara, Bruiser, and Dubsta, both equipped with six wheels, are absolutely dreadful in the snow. You'd think with all that traction, they'd be great, but no.

And the basic Trucks and Off Road vehicles like the Patriot, Sandking, and Rebel just don't seem to offer much more in the snow either.

So, what are some of the best vehicles in GTAO 2020 to use when the streets are slick and frosted? Here's my top five:

1. Dinka Blista
With front wheel drive, this car handles well, and moves quick when fully modified. I love this little cruiser, but it is an easy target.

2. Pegassi Ruffian
Ruffian was a champion racehorse in the 1970s, and so is the GTAO counterpart in modern times. This little pony forges through the snow like a pro and really gives a feel of speed, especially in evasive situations. The fact that you can stunt on it over walls and dumpsters continues to make me love this ride. Giddyap!

3. Canis Kalahari
While it may seem unassuming, this little prowler does great in the snow. Unlike it's counterpart, the Mesa, this vehicle delivers without the punchy, extreme appearance. The Mesa looks great, but fails to deliver where it counts: climbing, handling, acceleration, etc. The Kalahari, however, does it all. It's not a supercar, but it really hits the mark where it counts.

4. Ocelot R88
I haven't actually driven this in the snow, yet, but in off road and beach conditions, I was wildly surprised at how great this little open wheeler handled itself. It doesn't have the obstructing accoutrements of its sister cars, the BR8, PR4, or DR1, so accidentally clipping a street light won't send it careening in a tail spin or freezing it to a dead stop on a curb going around a corner. It's holds tight and eats the road with rubber. I'm imagining it is going to be excellent in the snow, too!

5. HVY Insurgent (or any Insurgent or Nightshark variation)
Any of the family of Insurgent vehicles are a knockout in the snow. Just fantastic. I haven't tried the Nightshark, yet, but I'm assuming it will be much like the Insurgent variations. I'd like to say the Kuruma fits in well, but it doesn't. It drives fine and all, but it's unpredictable in the snow as it behaves mostly the same as in normal conditions.

Honorable mentions:
• The Forklift is front-wheel drive and is a lot of fun in the snow!
• The Taxi Cab is front-wheel drive and fun, too!
• The Jester is also front-wheel drive and is a ton of fun at high speeds in the snow.

Looking forward to what other folks list as their favorites! Happy holidays and cheers! ~ fw3

I have to take back my recommendation on number 3. Canis Kalahari.

Not sure if something has changed since past years, but I tried it this year and it was slow, sluggish, and slid around way too much.

I'd have to replace it with the Cheval Surge, which surprised me at how well it did in the snow, despite the lack of speed.

Standard Deluxe 59

1. Mamba. It's prone to spin out, slide around and in topless form, freeze your nuts off, but it's still tons of fun. Even if you're mostly doing unintentional donuts.

2. Gauntlet Hellfire. A powerful, heavy, rear wheel drive muscle car in the snow. What could go wrong?

3. Sultan RS or Classic. What, you've never played wannabe rally racer in the snow?

4. Yosemite Rancher. Okay so this one's actually useful for getting around in the snow. Still looks good after getting all dirty with snow dust.

5. Trophy Truck. Jumping off snow covered dunes, catching pneumonia after driving through the swamps in below freezing weather or knocking off the panels and going around in just the frame causing you to lose a couple fingers and toes. Fun.

Black-Dragon96

Well for me:

1. Stromberg

2. Gauntlet Hellfire

3. Sultan RS

4. Trophy Truck

5. Scorcher

The first 3 are lovely to slide around corners in the city and simply enjoyable to drive.

4. My offroad monster for jumping around in blaine county.

5. You havent played gta 5 until you rode up mt chilliad on a mountainbike during the snow.

Honorable mention:

The Akula.

Its fun to sneak up on a group of griefers in an avenger, peppering them with a few missiles and then vanishing into the fog before they get a good shot.

Pigalle, front wheel drive makes it handle like a dream. Speedy too, and has skis on the roof!

Infernus, all wheel drive, ditto.

Comet Safari, what snow?

Streiter, as above.

Regina, swinging that big ass out as you drift around corners is a lot more fun than you'd expect. If only it had more power!

I totally forgot about the Pigalle and how good it is! I will most definitely revisit that this evening! I even forgot about the skis on top! LOL!!!

Of course, I always use the Pigalle for different reasons, which have more to do with adjusting the paint job.

Omnis, Huntley S, Duke o'Death, Sandking, Oracle (as a cheap winter beater on steel rims, performed suprisigly well) were the cars I used during the snow, my impression was that especially the supercars caused problems for some players.

3. Deviant

Don’t really have a top 5 since for me snow means Tampa.

Why the Tampa? Without snow it might be slightly underpowered and/or dull for a Muscle car. But in the snow? Yank the handbrake and slide all you want without ever having to worry about spinning out. 😀

Horrible mention for when I’m racing is the Hellfire among other Muscle (like) cars.

SummerFreeze

1. Vagrant

Still has quick acceleration and high top speed in the snow.

I can't think of any other vehicles because I pretty much only used the Sparrow this snow season.

5? it's only 1 for me, I drive my Mamba when it's snowing, this year I drove my Blackfin too.

I remember admiring the atmosphere from a deluxo while in first person when it was snowing in 2017 but I have never done that again after that.

I see someone is cosplaying as a North Yankton local!

Yeah I honestly like the Rancher XL on the snow as well, it may be slow as f*ck but it's still an interesting car to drive nonetheless.

Cutter De Blanc

My Everon, Caracara 4x4 and Guardian got the most use in the snow this year

My Sasquatch, while fun, I wouldnt consider it a "good" snow vehicle

I sold a bunch of bunker stuff with the Marshall and found it way easier to handle in snow, unless you got bumped off the mountain and had to climb up again ofc. Took my Dominator out for a spin as well without a single unintentional spinout, so I guess the snow somehow glued it to the ground in proper R* fashion. I'll keep that in mind next december if I'm in the mood for some muscle racing 🥶
