Which GTA games you had the most fun completing 100% and which were average and which ones were the least fun completing 100℅

 For me

*The ones that I had fun the most completing 100%

_Gta Chinatown wars: I did every side mission in the game without noticing and it's the only one where I do all of the odd jobs for fun not for money and reward , the actual hard part was going through the story because I didn't really care for it and I kept getting merged with the drug deals but  every mission was unique and different so okay

_ GTA VC: Being able to do 99% of the side missions without starting the first mission makes it so interesting I can be Overpowered without even triggering "an old friend" cutscene which makes the storyline missions easy asf and literally had zero problems doing them

_Gta SA: playing this game while taking your time is the best thing to do while completing it 100% since there are a lot of activities and side missions so the less speedrun  is the better also like VC there are a lot of tips and tricks for this game that makes it much easier like the ambulance in angel pine

_GTA 4 DLCs: while GTA 4 presented you the life of a depressed criminal which made it limited to some content to gave you the best role-playing Experience of Niko's character the DLCs made you represent the life of two different life of criminals with their kind of side activities which were fun asf

_GTA 5: TBH the first time I played GTA 5 I had a lot of fun exploring it every day and I kept discovering new content and Easter eggs and that what made it very interesting Actually I think that's one of the reasons the game is hated now I think rockstar wanted to update the single-player or something but the online made them forget

*The average ones for me:-

_Gta 3: I don't know why but being limited to do all the side missions at the beginning of the game in Portland  because I guess everyone knows why made me feel caged even though I was going to do that anyway and the game is so buggy which I can skip since it's old

also, there's no reward like Chinatown wars but okay

_Gta LCS:- NGL the side missions of this game were kinda fun and I enjoyed doing some of them but the hard part was going through this bland story which pushes me away from the game

*The ones that I didn't really enjoy completing 100%

_GTA 4: this one is different it's not the side missions that are annoying it's the f*cking rewards bruh money is the last thing I think about while playing this game reward me with something else and after killing all the pigeons after doing all the unique stunt jumps after doing every activity with Brucie my reward is the ability  to buy an unlimited amount of ammunition bruh was there even a limit??

_GTA VCS: By far the one that cringed the sh*t out of me the most while completing 100℅ Rockstar tried to change the side missions a bit and they f*cking failed so bad, the helicopter side missions f*cking suck why 16 levels of me flying a plane from point A to point B like four times And every one of these take like 3 hours or something what kind of a f*cking no lifer you think I am also the empire system seems to be broken in my game which I made a topic about Here but the rewards were good (being able to rewatch every cutscene)

I didn't complete advance 100% yet and I don't really plan to

Thanks for reading

GTA IV is the only GTA game I’ve finished to 100%. It was ok as something I ticked off my bucket list, but it’s not something I’ve repeated since and other GTA games don’t offer me the incentive to finish them to 100% as the tasks required are usually ridiculous, wastes of time.

Too much of a time sink for little reward. I’d rather just play through the story many times and complete things at my own speed instead of conforming to a checklist.

GTA Vice City was the funniest to complete to 100% because the difficulty is much better dosed than in 3 and San Andreas with a very good reward given the effort like the infinite ammunition for all the weapons.

GTA San Andreas was the most painful to complete to 100%. The difficulty is as well dosed as a bipolar's mood.

In fact all the GTA the missions that left me the most nightmarish memories belong to this game, particularly Supply lines and Freefall.

Given the enormous quantity of efforts to 100% it and all the ordeals I had to suffer the rewards partially looks like a big laughter like the infinite ammo only for the weapons you were carrying when you reached the 100% which is nothing but sadism and indecency at their worst along with that crappy rubbish Super GT piece of $hit appearing as a "reward" when you reach all the bronze medals in the driving school.

Actually I see San Andreas as the one that rewarded me the best.

every side mission gave me a good reward and after completing %100 your cars will have double strength , infinite ammo and military vehicles in GS also reaching better medals at the schools gives you better vehicles  but I agree I remember having more fun completing VC 100% and it was also my first

I am just glad the unique stunt jumps are not required in San Andreas

I don't know if someone would agree with me on this one but I think the best way to play the GTA games is to take your time doing everything this makes your experience more memorable even than before like giving yourself two hours to do some missions then free room and do some side missions

Also, some of the side missions in the series look weird but you'll always have fun playing them since they are challenging

EXCEPT FOR THE SIDE MISSIONS OF VCS WHO DA FUK THOUGHT THAT MAKING A SIDE MISSION THAT TAKES LIKE 4 HOURS IS FUN THIS IS A TORMENT THAT NO ONE DESERVES

Vice City is an easy winner in the most fun category. The amount of stuff you have to do is perfect, not too little, not too much. Collectibles aren't a pain, most side missions are fun. Probably the biggest stinkers in the requirements are the taxi and paramedic missions alongside that RC helicopter mission at the airport.

As for the worst, I would say San Andreas because of the sheer amount of collectibles. A total of 250 which is way too much. You could also technically add 30 to that number because of the vehicles you have to deliver for export. Although there are plenty of fun missions, the races, the asset missions and whatnot all those taxi and firefighting side missions along with the collectibles just ruin it.

I can't comment on IV or V as I have never attempted to 100% them but I imagine they are quite the pain as well.

You don't have to do the taxi in a row and thank god the number has been decreased to only 50 fares not 100 fares like 3 and VC

I always do the firefighter and taxi early on to get of them and because the firefighter reward is helpful and it gives you a good amount of money

For the collectables I do each on it's own part of the story because it makes the missions much easier

Except for the seashells this sh*t sucks seriously it's useless and hard to find since it's in the water

And I like collecting the cars in each game 😁

GTA 4 was a pain because of two things first the missions were hard and the rewards sucked and rewards are the only reason I do these missions the second it's hard to mix between the story and freerooming every boss be like come here now even though I don't have to I feel like I have to come as fast as possible so I don't get to freeroom a lot I feel like rockstar forgot about the freerooming while working on GTA 4

For GTA 5 I actually don't remember since I completed it 100% relaxed asf and I took my time as it was still new I am sure that it will be hard if I didn't play it while relaxing and not thinking about completing it 100%

Funny thing is I used to think you have to do them in a row. One time I was pretty close, over 35 or 40 fares when i accidentally pressed the submission button. Needless to say I was pissed.

Yeah same happened to me I reloaded an old save to start from the beginning then I figured out that I could have continued from where I have left off

SA just has too much for me to properly bother, IV's side content is boring, repetitive and unrewarding as hell, and V has you do random menial sh*t that has more variety, but again no reward. Thus, I conclude those are the worst.

I vote VC, it's by far the most chill of them all, and doesn't bombard you with unrelentingly worthless side tasks. It's even got the OG Hotring, which is my candidate for the most fun side mission series-wide, hands down, even accounting for all the stupidity that goes on in there.

Man you said it all

I recommend you Chinatown wars it has a good amount of fun side activities and they're rewarding like VC

VC and V would be my favourites, both games had me totally hooked and I was happy to complete everything on offer.

Like others in this thread my least liked 100% run is SA, fantastic game overall but the map was HUGE with so many damn collectibles and requirements, it made total completion a bit of a chore.

Vice City's my favourite to 100%, I really enjoy how you can do so much before even starting on the main missions, and how you get such good rewards for what you do. San Andreas as well, although it has a few more annoyingly difficult things that keep it from the number one spot. f*ck the ambulance and firetruck missions in both, but overall the side missions in them are fun and rewarding. I even enjoy getting the collectibles now that I'm so familiar with them that it's not too much of a chore and I don't have to look them all up.

I enjoy everything about 100%ing GTA IV except for one thing: the pigeons. But unfortunately they're so bad I probably won't ever do it again. And while I love completing the side missions, many of them crime based as they should be in GTA, rewards are sorely lacking.

I can't get over how much better collectibles and other side stuff/100% requirements are in Red Dead Redemption compared to GTA though, after playing it the first time this year. Everything is fun, fits nicely with the setting/gameplay, nothing requires googling maps/video guides, and there's worthwhile rewards. I've 100%ed it 4 times this year lol, and it was a pleasure each time. Shame GTA V didn't take notes from it.

I don't know, but I guess I liked Grand Theft Auto IV the most, because it doesn't have all this unnecessary, boring and annoying crap, which is present in other Grand Theft Auto games.

Well... apart from this awful task of killing 200 flying rats. What the f... where they thinking... At least it's immersive, right?

I haven't completed all of them %100, but for the ones I did or gave it a shot to do so with are:

  1. GTA IV: The Lost and Damned (Most fun); Every single side-mission is so much fun to play and complete, and the rewards are justifiably worth it. Fortunately this time around there's far less seagulls (50) to terminate compared to GTA IV's (200) pigeons. Furthermore, like in GTA IV, you have to pick every friend activity with your friends (correct me if I'm wrong), but since there's only three friends in the game, not to mention that you have to do so only with Terry and Clay, it's much better.
  2. GTA IV (Above average); Side-missions are pretty good and entertaining. Terminating pigeons, while not that much bad of an idea, is kinda boring, and 200 is also way too much. Moreover, having to go in every friend activity with every friend, as well as unlocking the special abilities of Jacob, Brucie and Packie, and completing all 50 stunts can be frustrating. Also, although the real reward of completing the game is the fun you have while doing it, the completion rewards aren't that much worth the effort.
  3. GTA III (Average); Not a big fan of the vehicular side-missions, nor nearly any occupational side-mission in general, but fortunately there's the (mostly assassination) payphone side-missions, as well as the Import/Export car thefts, and the rampages. I'm not really fond of collectibles, so luckily there isn't nearly as much as in San Andreas and GTA IV.
  4. San Andreas (Least fun); Not a big fan of most of its side-missions. There's way too many, and way too many of them are just occupations and random odd jobs rather than criminal and/or action-packed activities. Gang warfare and burglary are decent, but can get boring after not too long. There's way too many collectables, both in forms and numbers, and they get tedious very quick.

San Andreas was the most fun due to the variety of activities and the map. That map just can't make me tired. Also no need to do stunt jumps for 100% in this game so that's an automatic win. f*ck stunt jumps.

V comes second.

Vice City was alright as well.

TBOGT in particular must be the most plausible experience because it's shorter and activities are way more fun.

Which is strange considering this was the first game where doing them became fun due to the physics and the wider range of vehicles (including the NRG-500 which is the most fun vehicle for doing them)

The first time I tried to 100% a GTA game was earlier this year with LCS. Found it surprisingly fun, most of the side content was pretty enjoyable and wasn't too difficult, except the rc races those took awhile but still not too bad. Was pretty satisfying slowly unlocking all the neat rewards and such.

The second attempt was with VCS and that went nowhere near as well. Wasn't too bad early on and doing a lot of the early side content helped give me a bit of a running start with the empire building once it unlocked, could purchase any neutral site right away and upgrade all the ones I currently owned to high roller immediately.

But once I got to the second island everything started becoming such a slog. As Busta said the helicopter missions were needlessly long and boring and took forever to complete, the Sharks were way more annoying to take on in the empire stuff than the other gangs, And the whole empire system is pretty poorly designed in general, why is there no way to make gang aggression go down?  Both Scarface and The Godfather game had ways to calm them down, but no here in Vice City I'm stuck fighting off gang attacks like every 3 minutes.

And frankly not even the story is that good, Vic's character makes no sense, he constantly contradicts himself and whines constantly. I got like halfway through Remy's missions and just gave up because every damn thing in the game at that point was constantly pissing me off.

Third is GTA 3 currently in progress. People say the paramedic missions are the worst but I didn't have that much trouble with them honestly. I like the rewards so far, its pretty neat seeing the items appear around the hideout. Though I can see the off road missions like patriot playground proving to be a major pain, have no idea how your supposed to do that one. Not even sure if I'll bother with 100% considering you get nothing for it.

Depends on your taste but I think stunt jumps (and stunting in general) became more fun in SA than in the previous games. That's not to say that for example VC had bad stunt jumps but I prefer the ones in SA.

I just installed GTA 3 for my phone and I am having more fun than what I thought I would have

Right Now I have done only one story mission , listened to chatterbox then started a gang war with the Triads to get some guns and then I found a taxi and did five taxi missions later I found a Mr Whoopie car so I took it to the import garage and then found two other cars that needs to be imported and found a rampage but I have lost it because I went to the hospital to get health because of the gang war with the Triads and that was enough for today

Why do people keep saying that this game is totally unplayable and crappy I had a lot of fun playing it for un hour

100% again I think

I haven't completed any GTA game 100 percent. Like Algonquin Assassin said, they tend to have a lot of time wasting bullsh*t in them. Pigeons? No thanks. Horseshoes? Nah. Stunt Jumps? Fun to randomly find not fun to do on a check list.

Most of my GTA play time is usually spent watching the physics and messing around with the AI. GTA is a study tool more than a game. Last time it was a game to me was like 2003. When I was still a teen. But as I got older I realized doing the side activities and such in GTA are just not interesting to me at all.

I completely disagree since the side missions for me can be fun sometimes and they give me good rewards which encourages me to do them

I do agree with you in one point though it's that the more you grow up the less you feel like the GTA series is a game I can't really enjoy it knowing that I am wasting life sometimes I mean as a kid I always found / created new ways to entertain me while playing now most of my playthroughs are just doing the main missions but even this problem I kinda found a solution for it

The only GTA's I completed 100% are SA III and V,

I 100% percented SA 3 times and thats probably whhy I never touched that game ever again.

V was alright, it wasnt so tedious and I did it on my first ever playthrough so the experience still was fresh.

III was probably the most fun, doing rampages and the police odd jobs were awesome, and the collectibles werent that annyoing.

3's vigilante mode was honestly the best one. The simple fact that you don't have to reach your target in one session makes it a lot less stressful, less constantly worrying about the state of the cop car and doing the same pulling up to the side of the target vehicle and spraying it with uzi fire and more crashing into the perp car head on at full speed sending them flying or executing pit maneuvers and other crashing and smashing stuff. Very chaotic and messy but very fun too.

Side missions reward you for useful stuff that help you in missions, i.e. in Burning Desire, you need to complete the Firefigher side mission first so you won't have problems with the excessive fire.
