eduazy
As many of you know, Adobe Flash is going to be removed from all web browsers on December 31, 2020. This week, all official Adobe Flash websites created by Rockstar Games from 1997 to 2008 have been removed and replaced by simple info pages containing screenshots and trailers. You will be able to visit the original versions using The Wayback Machine. Additionally, I recreated some of these websites without Flash so you can still check them out on your web browser: Grand Theft Auto Flash websites (from 2001 to 2008) The Warriors Flash website (2005) These websites were very detailed and well made and contained a lot of content representative of the game, it's a shame Rockstar decided to completely abandon them and replace them with very dull and simple info pages. itsallup
gta2 website was full of broken links by the mid 2000s but it still had a lot of interesting stuff, you should re-do it too. I know all the 3d eras were classy but they had little information in comparison. Still good job. Yeah, I was literally able to do an almost 1:1 recreation by myself, their web design team could have made it easily. I guess they don't care at all. 1 hour ago, Inttelix said: gta2 website was full of broken links by the mid 2000s but it still had a lot of interesting stuff, you should re-do it too. KGBeast
I'm kind of surprised they were so eager to pull the plug, but not really. Rockstar at this point wants to bury its past, they probably couldn't wait to shut all this sh*t down. Truth is most of these sites have been in a state of disrepair and dysfunction because of years of neglect and butchery anyway. The GTA III site was completely and fundamentally busted, as I told you in the thread over on the III board, eduazy. Waybackmachine versions are more complete and functional than the actual Rockstar sites were at the end. Sad. And some of us have been working hard on preserving these sites and their content, so most is well and they will live on. We have to care because Rockstar sure as f*ck doesn't. gtafaninwest, Xane_MM, H-G and 6 others

rml_gta
Lmao they massacred the Epsilon Program page that involves a game they are still selling lol, this is a joke. At least they could have ported that one to fully HTML5 because is still an active game, if a normal person have ported the old flash games pages to HTML5, R* can at least port the Epsilon one because it has content of a game they are selling nowadays and they are re-re-releasing again...ugh this is disgusting PD: GUYS HAVE SOME FAITH WE STILL CAN GET IT, JUST HAVE FAITH, I STILL HAVE MY PS3 READY TO PLAY IT /s https://www.rockstargames.com/agent/ Edited December 21, 2020 by rml_gta eduazy, Shrek Realista, Mulyadi and 2 others

itsallup
i think the biggest disappointment was finding out that gouranga.com was bought by rockstar and shut down. Now it redirects to the rockstar website. What has become of our beloved developer rockstar games I dont know. One thing is for sure though they are not the same as they used to be. KGBeast
Hey buddy @eduazy, I finally got around to looking through the San Andreas site stuff and I did find those removed intro videos you asked me about. There are 5 separate .swf files in this directory you want: https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.rockstargames.com/sanandreas/swf/tod/* day.swf daybreak.swf morning.swf dusk.swf night.swf I was able to get them to run in the standalone Flash Player Projector offered by Adobe. Hope that helps! These are pretty cool I'd honestly never seen them before you mentioned it. KGBeast
So there is some good news for web flash content going forward. There's a new open source flash emulator in the works called Ruffle that is compatible with all browsers and can be installed on any site. It's literally just a single .js file that needs to be installed. Rockstar could easily use this to host legacy versions of all these sites, it's pretty clear they just don't want to. Maybe it's still worth sending them some emails to inform/nag them about it. https://ruffle.rs/ pariah87 and GEETEEAYEE
