zPhoenix
The trader seems to want a full turtle, but you can't carry it on your horse (so I assume you can't put it in the hunting cart either) and you can't skin it. Is carrying it by hand the only option? Also, I know that if I spoil my reputation some I will get fewer "hunt and bring animal X" resupply runs. Are there any negative effects from spoiling my reputation? Should I start shooting civilians and looting them to achieve it? IamCourtney
You should be able to put it on the back of your horse, maybe you have a bug. Do you have another horse to switch to? jazzbone and StyxTx

IamCourtney
Very strange, I've definitely put turtles on my horse before, though I haven't done so recently. Maybe something changed (unintentionally?) in the last patch? You could try to lasso and drag one I suppose, I've never tried that so I'm not sure if they're one of the eligible animals... Something is wrong then. I've also been able to put turtles on my horse. Haven't checked recently though. Gamejunkie
I've no problem to put a turtle on the back of my horse. I just did it a few minutes ago. On PC with Xbox gamepad by pressing the X-Button. StyxTx

zPhoenix
I tried it multiple times in the past, was never able to store it. I will try it again. In case it is relevant I am on PC, with keyboard and mouse. Edited December 20, 2020 by zPhoenix StyxTx
kcole4001
Maybe the session was glitched, I have never had issues putting turtles on my horse. They're heavy and slow the horse down a little. Edited December 20, 2020 by kcole4001 spelling DentureDynamite, StyxTx and jazzbone
Krommer
the "Alligator Snapping Turtle" can definitely go on your horse. It is "large", stowing on the BACK of the horse or in the hunting wagon. If you go around to the back of the horse, as you would to stow a "deer"/whatever, you should see the same "STOW" prompt. You weren't trying to stow it on the SIDE, were you (like medium stuff?) I seem to recall that LONG ago, when first playing online, I just assumed it went on the side and something was already on the back. I get the one to give the trader a turtle ALL THE TIME; my camp is in Hennington's Stead and the trader is always by Stillwater (sometimes the turtle is 20 feet away.. heh... ) The trader is in the same spot there when he wants a "whitetail deer", which is more irritating to find from there.
