Smasher277 0 Posted December 19, 2020 Share Posted December 19, 2020 Is OpenIV making Windows File Explorer lag and/or crash for anyone else or is it just me? This happens every time I use the program and it even lingers for a few seconds/minutes after I close it. I think it might also be causing some major stuttering while playing the game, even after the program is closed, due to this weird lag, but that doesn't happen often. Mostly it's just the File Explorer lag. But sometimes this problem doesn't go away on its own after closing OpenIV, I have to restart my PC in order for things to return to normal. A restart always fixes this stuff. (Until I use OpenIV again ofc.) I've experienced this on a previous PC whose (Intel) CPU broke, but after replacing that part I was still experiencing this problem. Then my motherboard broke so I replaced that too and was still experiencing this problem. Then I built a new PC (with an AMD CPU) and only used the GPU and drives from the previous PC. But after using OpenIV again on this new PC this problem was still there. So I've concluded that this problem is not caused by my PC and I'm afraid that OpenIV might actually be what broke my old PC those 2 times and I'm scared it will happen again... (Various things lead me to think this, one of them being that my CPU broke only after I started modding GTA V.) But I'm not a software developer or a computer engineer so I'm probably wrong about that part. But I'm scared now, and I want answers... Is this lag and crashing in File Explorer normal? Is OpenIV conflicting somehow with other software I have running and causing this? I have GTA V installed on an SSD right now and it was on one in my previous PC as well (2 different dives) so that shouldn't be the problem either. I can provide more info/details if needed. Does this "lag" begins right after you start OpenIV or after you use some tools in it? I forgot to mention that I did check Task Manager and it seemed to be closed. I couldn't find OpenIV in the list even when typing its name. And the lag begins within 30 seconds after opening OpenIV, no game selected.
