My weapons rarely fire...why?

Ok so starting with the summer update, and still ongoing (dont play much anymore but still) firing a gun doesnt....fire. I hold R2, my guy runs, and he holds the gun up and doesnt actually shoot. If I tap it, same thing. I MIGHT get it to fire if I tap like a madman, but it makes zero sense. Cars and everything work well, and switching the control scheme to Southpaw so L2 fires creates the exact same problem.

 

Any info or way to fix this?

When you say cars work fine - have you tested this with someone else in a session, both having the same car?

It's a common problem with PS4 controllers - googling "ps4 r2 not working" or "ps4 right trigger not working" you'll see there's lots of reports as lots of other people have had issues with the triggers not going down all the way.

But I mean, I can drive and such with R2 no problem. Other games no problem. If I switch Shoot to L2 its the same issue. The gun rarely fires.

 

If its a controller thing, this is the only game with that issue and I ain;t replacing a controller for it.
