Can the human mind possibly imagine a greater football team than Ajax 95?

Yes. I can at least. Barcelona 2010-11. They actually lost the cup to Real Madrid. But it's not about the trophies for me when I think about that team. It's about the way they played football. It was straight out of heaven. I doubt we'll ever see anything like it ever again. We'll see more invincible teams, result machines that win infinite trophies, but I doubt we see that way of playing football ever again.

The same Barcelona side that lost in Lol Liga to semi-pro sides full of farmers and bus drivers, Hercules and Real Sociedad? Do me a favour

Any side can win Lol Liga and the Champions League when you have the greatest striker of all time scoring 60 goals a season

Could Messi drop back and defend while Seedorf played up front like Ajax 95 did to bamboozle their opponents? Could he f*ck

I'm talking about TOTAL FOOTBALL the likes of which will never be seen again

If you think those are farmers then you haven't seen Eredivisie tbh

I know this is hyperbole and all but it is also clearly just not true. 2012 Messi would not make FC Kopenhagen win Champions League, no matter how good he is. And that's just to take a random sh*t team that sometimes makes CL as an example.

Messi is a false 9 and drops back by definition. Messi plays the role Cruijff invented. In Barca system everyone defends because Barca plays according to Cruyff's philosophy.

I support Ajax but actually think there are a range of teams that have been as good or better than 95 Ajax, because football as a whole has changed and improved massively since then.

Yeah, but could he do it on cold and rainy Tuesday night in Volendam?

Arsenal 03-04 got you beat. Man United's treble in 98-99 too.

The Premier League is infinitely more competitive than the Dutch top flight. To go unbeaten and win it, or win it while cleaning up on the FA Cup and UCL, magic.

Ajax had the luxury of having some real sh*t teams they could take it easy against and win to keep their UCL chances alive. That's why the Premier Leagur is number one.

Ah yeah the Bumnal 'invincibles' who only won one trophy that year, dont make me laugh. Only Bumnal supporters rate that team so highly, and they hounded their most succesful manger, Bumne Wenger, out of the club and now theyre stuck with Bumteta

Wouldnt happen at Ajax or United that

08 United team was better than the treble team, simply the best team in the world that year. Still not a patch on Ajax 95

Do you regret hounding Bumne Wenger out the club?

Nope, Spurs. And quite enjoying watching them crumble at the mo.

Anyhow, after seeing how you conduct yourself and along with your username, I'm not interested in this childish stuff. Moving on...

Not sure why this is a topic, other than to possibly pick fights. We do have a footy topic above this one.
