I thought that heart meant sex in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, so I went looking for it at the docks.

:modkek:

Well, it was supposed to mean that. It just wasn't the case in the final game.

When I was a kid, I genuinely believed in GTA SA myth videos, and it got so bad to the point where I would refuse to play the game in the dark because I thought I'd encounter Bigfoot & he'd jumpscare me

yeaah, basic story, i know

Dont worry you had best time in your gaming life!

Every time somebody ask me what games scared crap of me most, I say GTA:SA .

We had forums in your country when we talk only about myths in this games, we made mythos from simple bugs and glitches. I never experienced something like this again.

I remember as a child, having a dream that my brother was playing GTA 3 and I was going through a model catalog trying to find the cars he was stealing so I can get them for my train set because we were making a model of liberty city within the dream and for whatever reason, I vividly remember him stealing an old Mercedes like the Admiral in vice city and me finding it in the catalog.

this was before vice city came out btw

When I played Vice City, I barely understand english.

There is one commercial when Avery Carrington is selling luxury condos, and another women is repeating it very sensually.

I was like, wtf they are selling luxury condoms? I was sure this is commercial for sex shop...

When I first got the anonymous "meet me at Castle Gardens" text from Francis, I avoided that place like the plague because I thought Niko was gonna get assassinated.

Definitely not weird, but I was sure that Alderney is just Suburban area of LC . I get to many fights over Alderney state vs. Liberty city area.

I was so sure, because cops use LCPD vehicles, cars has Liberty city plates, even Taxis are from LC.

To be fair it’s understandable.

While I like Alderney it really just feels like a borough to Liberty City instead of being in its own state.

At first I thought it was the in game running gag that no one cares about Alderney, but really it feels like laziness to reuse assets which is odd considering they went to the effort of giving the police their own uniforms *shrugs*.

Honestly they’d have been better off just renaming Alderney “Staten Island” or whatever the gta equivalent would’ve been and it would’ve made more sense but that’s a topic for another day

OT when I was like five years old watching my older brother play GTA 3, I didn’t think that it was graffiti on the side of the subway trains, I just thought it was funky looking basic geometric shapes

When I first played VC, I thought I completed the story once I got Diaz' mansion because I didn't know you were supposed to buy assets.

It didn't help that you've already unlocked almost everything in the game after that.

I used to think that in gta 3 opening claude was a cop and he was trying to arrest catalina but she shot him and so other cops thought he was a criminal and arrested him and claude was trying to get revenge on the other cops. I was excited to complete the story but I could never pass the mission where you have to steal a security van

I also thought that the npc in gta vice city who wears a blue suit and has white hair was the mayor and if i killed him i would get 3 wanted stars and that the woman with green shirt was pregnant because of the way she walked

When I first watched the "Move up, ladies" trailer for GTA IV there was a shot where Niko drives Roman around in his cab then the camera focused on Roman's smug face and I thought "This is probably gonna be the main villain and he'll betray the player at some point". :kekw:

I think I might have mentioned it in this thread, but I really thought Roman was going to be the antagonist before GTA IV's release. The same thing happened with Uncharted 4 and I thought Sam was going to betray Nate.

Something about close family members seems ripe for antagonist material. Though in hindsight I don't think Roman would've made a good villain lol.

A friend of mine who has never finished GTA 4 thought that Roman is going to betray you at the end

As a 12-13 year old I never grasped the concept of a drug front and distribution, so I was genuinely mind boggled as to why the cops wanted to arrest me in Vice City for simply selling "ice cream" to the locals. 😆

They just don't respect the grind.

I think I have posted in this thread before, but in case I haven't...

-Due to some... let's call it, misinformation, by a friend of mine, I was led to believe that if you fly far enough in GTA San Andreas, you arrive at a new city with what he claimed to be better cars and faster bikes... so stupid me did just that, I tried it multiple times and I thought I was flying in the wrong location.

-Vice City was my first ever GTA, I played GTA San Andreas for like 5 minutes on a friend's PS2 after, then I discovered GTA3 after, I thought the latter was the latest one of them.

-My first experience with GTA Vice City was through a modded game that had no missions or anything, you just install and you got everything done (had a lot of weird stuff in it too lol) so I thought that was just it, you just load up and mess around, until I saw a video online from good old "GTA-Missions" channel, which showcased a mission in the game (one where you start from Diaz's mansion, go to some stairs, look inside a room and then you chase someone on the rooftop, I forgot the name of it), I wondered how come my game didn't have any of that, and I followed what they did in the video step by step thinking I just didn't know how to "start" the mission, nothing worked of course, it wasn't until I played GTA San Andreas after (which wasn't modded or anything) that I learned that there's a story to this whole thing lol.

Are you Egyptian ?

cuz the flying faraway from San Andreas rumor and the GTA VC that starts in the mansion with weird stuff are popular in Egypt

cant remember

I used to think the the camera (in the 2D games) was meant to be a news helicopter's point of view and the game was meant to be like "Americas wildest police chases" but then a game where you control the fugitive and I thought it was the coolest concept someone could think of.

I recall another weird thought, sponsored by the gaslighting that my cousin gave to me along with the "dildo that definitely is a cellphone" idea. If you are from Latin America and from a certain age, you should remember those machinima-style videos of GTA SA that used the Loquendo TTS, and of course, you should remember the character of "El Tio Gilipollas", the alleged uncle of CJ that used the "Benny" skin. So, in one of those videos featuring him, the gravity gun CLEO mod appeared, and I thought woooaah is this real? Anything of this is real? The fact that they were doing some crazy adventures in some point of the game? Of course, my cousin said that yes, those things happened in the game, just in the latter part of the plot. And I couldn't verify that since I didn't have a Memory Card to save my game and my PC at the time was a wet tissue to say the least. So I spent like a month thinking that the game had a weird subplot involving the white hillbilly uncle of CJ. That is until I discovered what modding was, and I felt like I was a complete dunce.

Also, that guy that said that the "Weapons 4" cheat existed can eat a lot of old bollocks (not if you are using the mobile version, where the cheat exists).

I had a similar thought as yours.
