I been playing gtao since 2013 and i was really looking forward to cayo perico but it was very underwhelming. A drug island but no themed vehicles, character customization or weapons? Not only that but all heists are basically the same. I dont think they should work on anymore heist but instead give us something new to do in freemode other than grind business. Something new that will expand the gtao world.

The Casino Heist broke the player record so it was obvious Rockstar would release another heist DLC.

Is there going to be another one? I guess it depends entirely on how successful this one will be. (Players attracted + the money they spend.)

I would have to disagree. Lots if people still willing to play the super old heists if the team is right!!! This Cayo heist format is just wonky as hell... Like they didn't know their limitations before developing this story of El Rubio.

Personally I was wanting them to introduce a heist with a Michael, Franklin, or Trevor approach and they'd be in the heist too!

I like the idea of heists but i think half of the problem is how each heist is presented as bigger and more epic when even the smaller ones are clunkers, mechanically. Like the thought of a heist sounds like fun but I just don't know if a heist thats good really plays to the strengths of this game

I prefer the PayDay2 heists over GTA's. The original GTA heists are still fun although I'd prefer to be able to do them solo with NPCs or at least with only 1 other player. All you needed was a high-end apartment. The mastermind challenge was also a nice idea. But the later heists required you to buy stuff for millions of dollars to set it up, the assets had little use outside of the specific heists, and the heists didn't fit the Online character. We're not kingpins, we're not billionaires, we're normal criminals who are lucky to take part in a heist.

Honestly I think (like most of GTAO) the heist experience is just to restrictive. Why do I need a submarine? Why do I need an arcade? Why do I need an Akula to break into NOOSE in Dooms Day but not to get the hacking device for the casino? Why do we need an EMP for Humane but not when resupplying our bunker? It a "streamlined" mess.

Guess you can say capitalism was a mistake. But mainly greed. I wish we could rob heist in freeroam like those fivem servers I get like 70k robbing fleeca bank

To say the least.

The dlc is ass. It's like the final nail in the coffin of gta online's progression.

This was announced so big.

Rockstar lost their credibility.

I actually would love to see how you can give away all your cash.

With my combined accs it'll be round 70 million.

I'd give it to anyone who still enjoys gtao.

Don't get me started on loading screens and all the f*cking bugs

y'know, I wouldn't be mad at the heists they constantly peddle if there was something new to it that made it enjoyable. Instead it's just some cookie cutter bullsh*t of an unskippable intro cutscene, stealing from Merryweather, scouting cameras, stealing some passcode/keycard, trivial annoying hacking sequences and overall a subpar, underwhelming experience - and you could argue "but that's exactly what you'd do to prepare for a heist!". That would be for the most part correct, logically it makes sense but it still doesn't mean the whole thing isn't boring as f*ck. Once again, great potential and a sh*tty execution.

Disagree.

There's been much added to this game over the years, from missions, races, businesses, adversary modes and heists etc.

This is only the 4th heist update, compared to how many more of the other areas I mentioned, there's more businesses (which I do feel are played out), more of everything compared to heists.

And for a game that is a heisting themed GTA in areas, I feel they've done it quite well by not overly pushing them as the main focus only and given other themes/areas plenty alongside heists.

Of course, there's always room for new ideas though. But I see no harm in adding more heists between other things still. But if I was given the choice between a new heist that allows me to play it from any lobby, or some business I'm forced to go public with, heists will always get my vote.

The heists wouldn't be played out if Rockstar had designed them better. The heists should have been the crown jewels of Online; they should feel more like an exciting experience than just a series of boring and tedious contact missions. The heist payouts have always irked me as well. For all that is done in the prep missions (time and resources), the heists should pay out higher amounts, with each subsequent heist increasing in payout as well as difficulty. The concept of robbing the big bank is great, but getting away with a mere $1 million (a little more than that on hard) and having to split that between 4 people is absurd. That heist should be the most difficult but payout $1 million per player. One of the reasons why I enjoy Payday 2 so much is that the amount of money you get away with is affected by your actions. If you stick to the objective, you make some decent money. You stick around and risk getting busted, you can walk away with A LOT more. But in the end, the payout justifies your actions. Rockstar's logic seems to be "give them just enough to keep them busy, but not so much that they won't grind for money (or buy shark cards)".

I wouldn't say that they're played out, I'd say r* as a whole is played out. Everything is designed to keep you trekking the entire map, with some features locked behind a gross paywall. Restrictive missions and awful ai, built around broken mechanics. It's not just heists that suffer from that, but the thing that stings so much is that we have to wait so long for these heists, and we have to run them multiple times just to break even on launch day.

It should of been end game content but r* cant make a proper mmo look at red dead

To be honest, it was only a matter of time before the heists became repetitive. You've got to understand that underneath all that content, the base game is still the same. Rockstar has some creative liberty, but just up to a certain point. The first ever heists were so exciting because it was something we had never done before, if they released today they would have nowhere near the same impact that they had in 2015. Breaking into the Humane Labs is fun until you do it 100 other times. It's clear that the new location is just another way for them to spice things up since the mechanics are pretty much the same, it's just the details that change (instead of the keycards you get bolt cutters now, but conceptually it's the same thing).

Generally speaking, I think Heists in GTA Online have had a proper evolution, and we've reached a point where the concept has pretty much reached saturation and we can't go much further than this without a brand-new game with new mechanics.

Heists are the best thing in this game, and the Cayo Perico is probably the BEST implementation of them, I hope they do more of this.

A lot of people just love it.

It's great for those who need money and can crew up to make fast cash.

After that, however, what then?

When you have those millions, it's pretty lackluster to spend over $9 million to make less than $2 million at most.

You have to host it at least 5 times to get your money back.

Too much repetition for me.

I'm not interested in heists.

I have watched people play them, from the originals to speedrunning casino heists ad nauseum, and that was enough.

I'm not even going to buy any of the current stuff except for a couple of cars. so far I've bought the kart and something else on sale, by the end I still won't drop below $300 million.

Like Arena Wars, this one's a miss, it has very little that I want, I don't need a huge sub and don't care about collecting little underwater doodads every day.

I agree with this, but then again, I like co-op modes.

I think the main mistake they’ve made with the Cayo Perico Heist is the scoping, which to be honest, is a little tedious. They would have been better to open with something more combat orientated, rather than sneak around on foot, and get booted back miles if you’re spotted. I like to sink my teeth into an update and explore stuff, so I cracked on with it, but couldn’t help but feel “a load of people are going to hate this”, and from feedback I’ve got, that’s broadly what’s happened. Some people I think are going to dismiss it early doors because some people are really swayed by first impressions.

What I like about Cayo Perico is the number of different approaches you can do. Given the effort required to create new maps assets, it’s great they’ve given it last-ability by effectively allowing you to do the heist a very different way.

Cigars and chill

Nothing is played out when done correctly. This heist and casino sucked for me. More like doomsday and I am back in.

The Cayo heist is more like one big story mission than a heist, at least the first time we do it for Hunter's laptop files.

That’s online for you. It’s played out. We’re already rich and have everything.

What we need is a new single player game (VI), start from being nothing and make our way to the top kingpin. Rags to riches.

As for online, we will have to create a new character, with nothing and work to get rich again. It will be set in the 80’s so our current gta o character isn’t even born/old enough.

Heists and contact missions are all generally the same thing. Personally, I think most of you are just burned out on the game. To do anything "new" they would need new gameplay mechanics. For example, a new melee system might make for some engaging new combat missions, but without a new system it's just more of the same.

There's no way to make driving feel fresh and new, theres no way to make shooting someone in gta feel new. New vehicles and new locations is kind of all they have. I'm not really sure what everyone here is looking for from an update, beyond new missions and new vehicles.

I think you're just suffering burnout, this is what Gta always was since its inception. Its just that instead of passing the torch and releasing Gta 6, they prefer to keep milking Gta 5 for a good long time.

We need VI with new graphics / updated physics / big new detailed map.
